Demogorgon is by far one of the most favourite killers in the whole of the dead by daylight game, just by looking like him, he looks like someone who can be cuddled all day without having the idea that his next move could make you end up on the other side of the world,

Nonetheless, in this article, we are going to show you the best 25 tips & tricks you should know for the Demogorgon so that you could have successful gameplay with an increased chance of winning the game.

25. Primary power is 'Shred' not portals

A good thing to know is the fact that Demogorgon's main power is shredding rather than using portals. Portal is a good thing to have when you want to gain headstarts on the map; however, you should be able to use shreds as much as possible as it has a good advantage on distance attack, therefore allowing you to get a quick attack on the survivor.

24. Use the advantage of the killer shack

Demogorgon's ability can be quite good when running the shack, as he has the ability to use shred to counter survivor's moves and therefore be able to hit them. An example would be when a survivor is going through a window inside the shack; however, you should use shred when the survivor locks their animation otherwise they can mind-game and change direction quickly if you shred too early.

23. Use the advantage of the jungle gym

Similar to the killer shack, you can use Demogorgon's ability to shred to counter Jungle Gym loops so that survivors would not have time to jump over windows, and therefore be able to come from one end of the loop very fast due to the power, and then be able to hit the survivor effortlessly.

22. Aiming Demogorgon's shreds

Aiming the shred with Demogorgon is generally very important in the game, as it will help you save lots of missed attacks. An example would be on the corner of the killer shack, and instead of aiming directly at the survivor, you should aim somewhere in between, imagining there are two survivors next to each other, you should aim exactly in between them, therefore this way, the survivor would not be able to dodge the attack.

21. Descending Shreds = more distance

Due to some game mechanics, if you were to shred from a hill or a high elevation on the map, you will be able to cover a far bigger distance rather than if you were to do normal horizontal shreds.

Therefore this way, you can traverse around the map much faster if you shred from high objects, progressing through the game faster.

20. The 'lifeguard whistle' add-on during the end-game

The lifeguard whistle is particularly strong, especially during the end-game where you have achieved a three-gen. Basically what the add-on does is that if you were to have a three gen with portals next to the generators, any survivors who come close to it would activate the killer instinct, therefore enabling you to come to that position and catch the survivor whether he is on a generator or not.

19. The timing of the 'shredding' charge

The time it takes for the shred to maximise its charge takes about 1 second which is for a full distance lunge, and it is something that you would need muscle memory for, and basically timing how to use the attacks and when to use the shredding power.

18. Be prepared with shredding during chasing

"During shredding, you are not slowed for 0.5 seconds of charging your shred", therefore, in situations such as in chases you could prepare the shredding and not use it as it does not affect speed, nonetheless, this would cause pressure on the survivor, and therefore might cause for the survivor to make a mistake such as sudden turning, which will allow you to get an easy basic m1 attack.

17. Use the power of shredding to break breakable objects

As mentioned in the video, even if survivors would pre-drop the pallets, it would not help them escape Demogorgon's shred. It would just instantly destroy the pallet without pretty much any time lost as if nothing happened, making it so much easier for the killer to hit the survivor shortly after.

16. When next to a pallet, "kick it" not shred it

When standing next to the pallet, it would be more quicker and efficient to kick it rather than shredding it, as kicking it would take around 0.6 seconds, whereas shredding it would take just over 2 seconds, which is not worthwhile doing, unless you like watching the shredding animation, giving some motivation within the game.

15. Do not overuse Demogorgon's portals

The biggest common mistake is overusing portals, where you are putting too many portals around the map. This is a very bad technique as it is not very efficient, and secondly, it could only attract unwanted attention, such as placing three portals around a hex, where eventually it would be cleansed, cause it would have to be a powerful perk unless it is haunted ground, then you have some serious mind games.

14. Do not waste time teleporting all the time

Do not waste time teleporting over and over again. Mix & match within the game, because if you keep teleporting to some specific destination, it would be very predictable for the survivors, and therefore, it would be much easier for them to win the game because they will eventually know your moves, which on the other hand for the killer, it is a waste.

13. One of the common best perks for Demo: Save the best for last

One of the best perks to use for the Demogorgon which is worth mentioning would be Michael Myer's perk 'Save the Best for Last', which allows you to reduce the cooldown of attacks after stacking up tokens, which is very useful for Demogorgon, especially with his shredding, where he is able to reduce the cooldown of shreds and be able to recover very fast, including when breaking objects.

12. Do not respect pallets or survivors

One of the things you should not do as this particular killer is to respect pallets. This will not only cause you to lose lots of time but also, allows the other survivors to just pre-drop pallets and just continue the chase for a long time, wasting the killer's time.

To avoid this, just use shredding to prepare to either hit the pallets or the survivors, as it will save lots of time on the distance and time.

11. Place portals at the beginning of the game 'effectively'

At the beginning of the game, the best strategy would be to place safe portals at the beginning of the game, so that you would have a headstart on the teleportation during the game. Putting portals in the grass allows it to be undiscovered by survivors, and therefore allowing it to surprise them, not knowing where you came from.

And things such as placing portals in between two generators are also a good idea, as it saves on the portals you place.

10. The time when you want to use your portals

The time where you would want to use the portals would be after hooking the survivor, as you could use the advantage of barbecue and chilli to find survivors from a far distance and therefore use the nearest portal to teleport to the closest portals where the survivors' aura were last shown.

It is a great strategy for pressuring the game, and of course doing it right after hooking, which is unpredictable.

9. The combination of Barbecue & Chilli and the portals

As mentioned in the previous tip, using barbecue and chilli is a great combination to use for Demogorgon. firstly, the perk is overall very powerful to use for fast-paced killers as you would be able to see survivors after hooking, and therefore, use the speed to quickly catch up on them.

It is a recommended perk to use for every killer, to be honest, and for Demogorgon, it is a must as you can use your portals to this advantage.

8. Use mini-shred & shreds depending on the situation

With Demogorgon, you will have the ability to do mini shreds, which basically work after powering up the power to 0.5 seconds. Mini-shred cover a substantially small distance, therefore, it is very useful if a survivor is very close to you.

It is good to use both mini shreds and shreds depending on the situation as it would save up lots of time.

7. Baiting Dead-Hard with the Shred

One of the good strategies whilst using the shred is by baiting dead-hards, where basically you would hold the shred power button to pressure the survivor into putting himself into dead-hard, and then after you would be able to use the power flawlessly after the dead-hard has been completed by the survivor. All about the mind games.

6. Holding shred can show survivors of killer instinct

Holding the shred of power can you help you see the survivors. In other words, the killer instinct will reveal any survivor points, once they were to walk on Demogorgon's portals, which is a very good trick to know to pinpoint survivors who might be running or walking across your portals.

5. Replacing portals from time to time

During the game from time to time, you should replace portals that are in the game, as it can be advantageous in helping you change your strategy. For instance, if the survivors see that you are travelling through that particular portal, it will get destroyed eventually, and therefore you should be able to replace that portal as soon as possible.

4. The idea of placing portals and travelling

When placing portals around the map, you will see the aura of the portal as white, however, once travelled, it will automatically turn yellow, therefore allowing all the survivors to see the aura of the portal and then being able to destroy it.

Again, the best tip would be to replace the portal "out of sight" once travelled through, to avoid survivor destruction.

3. Manipulating the Red Stain & Shredding

Manipulating the red stains is one of the best ways to mind game survivors and then be able to use the shredding to surprise them with the attack.

A situation like this could be when you are on a chase in the killer shack, and then you could be able to 'moonwalk; in other words walking backwards to hide your stain from the corner, and then turn around and go for the straight attack.

2. The use of portals at the end-game status

During the end game, when there is only one survivor left, you could use the advantage of portals to trap survivors, in other words, by trapping exit gates with a portal each, therefore allowing you to travel between the two exit gates flawlessly.

Nonetheless, if one of the portals were to be destroyed, you will still have time to come back to it and therefore be able to catch the survivor.

1. Shredding from high elevation won't hit survivors

Shredding from a high elevation might be helpful in gaining more distance than shredding horizontally; however, it is impossible to hit survivors from that height no matter how close you are to the survivor, you will not be able to hit them with the shred.

However, one of the methods you could use to take that as an advantage would be hitting the basic m1 attack, right after using the shredding.
