Which of the big guns is best?

The light machine gun class is sometimes (sadly) overlooked. What they sacrifice in mobility and reload speed, they can more than make up for in damage and range. It’s true that you may find yourself at a disadvantage when up close, because of slow ADS and fire rate, but as with everything you must focus on your strengths! Let’s take a look at the top five LMG loadouts available, and why they’re so good.

5. M91

the "M91" LMG is UNSTOPPABLE in WARZONE SEASON 6!

Start at 2:40

The Modern Warfare M91 comes with a 100-round mag as standard, a controllable amount of recoil and great damage. This makes it a great choice for any Warzone player looking to get some medium-range kills or simply to provide some covering fire for the squad. Just beware of its low firing rate and slower movement. A good idea would be to take an SMG to make up for movement speed and to help at close range.

  • M91 Attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, M91 Heavy, Tac Laser, VLK 3.0x Optic, Commando Foregrip
  • Perks: Double Time, Overkill, Amped
  • Equipment: C4, Smoke

Advantages:

- Perks and attachments give this loadout a needed speed boost

- Great choice for long- to medium-range, and for sustained fire

4. RPD

the BEST RPD LMG CLASS to USE on REBIRTH ISLAND!

Maybe fourth position isn’t exactly fair for the RPD. Sure, its damage leaves a little to be desired but since its season six buff, this LMG has almost zero recoil! Cap that with its excellent magazine capacity and you don’t need high damage if you’re putting round after round on target. You might like to pair this with a sniper or an SMG, but I’m going to take a launcher to give this loadout an extra perk.

  • RPD Attachments: GRU Suppressor, 20.3” Task Force, Axial Arms 3.0x, Serpent Wrap, Spetsnaz Grip
  • Perks: EOD, Restock, Amped
  • Equipment: Frag, Stun

Advantages:

- Incredibly accurate

- Great for explosive action if you bring a launcher. You have an unlimited supply of grenades.

3. Bruen Mk9

the BRUEN *META* RETURNS in WARZONE SEASON 6!

Start at 2:50

The Bruen has received more than its fair share of nerfs yet remains a solid choice. Rivalling even the ARs, this weapon boasts incredible range, damage and rate of fire. Recoil is a slight negative after some tweaks to the game, but the right attachments can help a lot. Take an SMG with you to help with movement speed.

  • Bruen Attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, M91 Heavy, Tac Laser, VLK 3.0x Optic, Commando Foregrip
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Combat Scout
  • Equipment: Thermite, Stun

Advantages:

- Great choice LMG at most ranges, and balanced loadout

- Attachments improve Bruen’s range and control

2. PKM

"Nickmercs PKM Class is The NEW Meta on Warzone!"

Start at 8:20

The PKM has always been one of the “old reliables” of the LMGs. Pair it with the correct attachments and you have got yourself an incredibly powerful weapon at long range, with an excellent magazine capacity. Bring an SMG with you and you’re covered at all ranges!

  • PKM Attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, 26.9” Extended Barrel, Tac Laser, VLK 3.0x Optic, Commando Foregrip
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Battle Hardened
  • Equipment: C4, Smoke

Advantages:

- Excellent for long-range kills

- This setup, paired with an SMG, ensures you have the edge whatever the situation

1. Stoner 63

This Warzone LMG is kinda OP

The Stoner is quite simply a mag-nificent (sorry) LMG. Excels at close- and medium-range, it can be adapted to long-range also. Versatility is definitely its strong suit. There are some great options for magazine attachments, and its recoil can easily be controlled with the correct setup. You’ll find the Stoner to be one of the best automatic weapons in Warzone for damage, and an added little bonus is that it is incredibly effective at destroying enemy vehicles!

  • Stoner Attachments: Agency Suppressor, 21.8” Task Force, Axial Arms 3.0x, Salvo 150 Rnd Fast Mag, Field Agent Grip
  • Perks: EOD, Restock, Battle Hardened
  • Equipment: Frag, Smoke

Advantages:

- Attachments improve control and negate the LMGs general problem when reloading

- The ultimate setup for heavy-duty, explosive killing; what all LMGs should be used for

Let’s face it, if you’re running an LMG you know you’re going to be slower, heavier, etc. These guns were built for suppressing fire and work best in a team. But for the Warzone, with their attachment options, you can use them to become a juggernaut without the perk.

Happy killing!
