Vows tend to be pretty binding. Some vows are taken so seriously, that they will be observed even after death. Nothing like keeping promises made to dead people. After all, no one wants a dead guy to come knocking for answers!

‘Trek to Yomi’ is a story about a vow. A young Samurai, Hiroki, makes an oath, or takes a vow, to protect his town and its people. Hiroki’s Master dies, and Hiroki is forced to venture on a quest beyond life and death to discover his purpose and find his way forward.

Hiroki must trek to Yomi beyond the realm of the living to find out how he must proceed with his life. His vow to his Master binds him to do whatever it takes and go wherever needs to be gone to protect the people of his town.

‘Trek to Yomi’ features a highly cinematic experience, with the game being built to play like a “classic samurai film.’ This creates an engaging narrative for the player, allowing them to be an active part of the ‘movie’ as it plays out.

According to the developers, ‘Trek to Yomi’ has a “streamlined combat system” featuring traditional weapons of the Samurai in the Japanese feudal age.

As it turns out, Hiroki’s journey into alternate dimensions is a direct consequence of his failure to uphold his original vow, and this journey is the only way for him to make it right and make good on his vow as best he can in the aftermath of his village’s destruction.

Players must battle the forces of darkness beyond death as they follow Hiroki’s epic ‘Trek to Yomi.’

‘Trek to Yomi’ is developed by ‘Leonard Menchiari,’ and ‘Flying Wild Hog.’ ‘Trek to Yomi’ is coming to Steam sometime during 2022.
