Jax, the ultimate weapon of choice for any Brawler composition, unleashes his fury on the battlefield in this epic moment.

New to Teamfight Tactics and looking for a reliable team composition to get you started? The brawlers comp may be just what you need.

This comp revolves around a team of six brawlers with Jax as the main carry and a backline DPS to help him clean up the units. Soraka is the perfect choice for that thanks to her admin trait that pairs well with Blitzcrank. Other good options include Aurelion Sol, Miss Fortune, or Bel'veth. If you're lucky enough to hit a brawler crest or heart augment, you can even play eight brawlers.

Brawlers have high HP and are quite tanky, making items like Ionic Spark and Sunfire great for the early game. The best items for Jax include Rapidfire Cannon, Guinsoo's Rageblade, and Hextech Gunblade.

What This Comp Excels In:

High survivability: Brawlers are known for their tankiness and high health, making them great at soaking up damage and staying alive in fights. This allows Jax, the carry of this comp, to deal consistent damage without getting focused down.

Early game strength: The Brawler comp is very strong in the early stages of the game thanks to their tankiness, especially if you equip them with items like Ionic Spark and Sunfire Cape. This allows you to win rounds, save a lot of HP and build up your economy early on to secure an easy top 4.

Augment flexibility: This comp has the ability to incorporate a variety of augments, giving players a lot of options to choose from based on their playstyle, preferences and the situation they find themselves in. With access to augments such as Second Wind, Electrocharge, Battlemage, and more, players can adjust their strategy to match the needs of each game. The comp also utilizes several hero augments, including both Jax and Sejuani's augments, as well as Boxing Lessons for Vi and Cull the Meek for Renekton.

Straightforward gameplay: The composition's units are almost always the same in any game, making it easy for beginners to learn and execute. Simply buy the units with the "Brawler" trait and place them on your board.

Super Carry: a 3-star Jax is a super carry in this comp, especially when uncontested, as his ability to dodge enemy attacks and deal heavy damage can be a game changer. Getting Jax 3 stars can be difficult but it's worth it as he can single-handedly carry the team to victory.

Brawlers details:

Jax is the main carry in this lineup. With his high damage output, Jax can single-handedly wipe out entire enemy teams. It is important to prioritize finding Jax and getting him to 3-star as soon as possible to maximize his potential. Once he has his core items, Jax can shred through enemy units and carry the team to victory.

Sejuani is the main tank and crowd control provider with her ultimate ability which can stun multiple enemies to buy enough time for Jax to ramp up and kill his opponents.

Soraka is the secondary AP carry for this comp. Her role is to deal damage along with Jax to help him take down tanky units.

Vi, Riven, Lee Sin, Blitzcrank, and Renekton are all Brawler trait bots and frontline units.

4. Duelists

With lightning-fast reflexes and deadly precision, Vayne unleashes her inner duelist to take down opponents and claim victory in Teamfight Tactics.

If you love watching fast-paced and action-packed fights, then the Duelists comp is perfect for you! This comp revolves around stacking attack speed and taking over in long fights, which makes it a great choice for players who enjoy playing aggressively.

To execute this comp you need six Duelists on your board, with either Vayne or Zed as your carry, depending on the augments and items you hit. If you're lucky enough, you may even get the chance to play eight Duelists by finding a Duelist crest or heart augment or by crafting a Duelist spatula. And to ensure that your frontline can withstand long fights, you must have at least two Lockets of the Iron Solari to provide that much-needed tankiness to your frontline.

What This Comp Excels In:

Items flexibility: This comp can utilize a wide range of items, with the only essential being Locket of the Iron Solari. Attack damage or speed items can be placed on either Zed or Vayne, including Deathblade, Infinity Edge, Last Whisper, Runaan's Hurricane, Gunblade, and Giant Slayer. Mana items such as Blue Buff or Spear of Shojin can be used on Vayne, and tank items can be given to Nilah. This allows for a lot of flexibility in itemization based on the specific game and opponents.

Backline access: With Zoe on the board, Zed can jump onto the enemy's backline with the hacker trait. This allows Zed to eliminate the enemy's carry at the start of the fight, which can be crucial to winning the battle.

Dominant mid-game: With most of the key units being 1,2 and 3 costs, it is easier to upgrade them, giving this comp a strong mid-game presence. You can win streaks through stage 3 and 4, securing a solid economic and HP advantage going into the late game.

High Output Damage Potential: With the Duelist trait providing bonus attack speed and the flexibility to use various items on any unit, every unit in the comp has the potential to become a carry. With enough attack speed and proper itemization, even the frontline units can deal significant damage and take down enemies quickly. This allows for a diverse range of win conditions, as any unit can step up as the main damage dealer depending on the situation.

Flexible Support: The comp allows for a lot of versatility with support units at levels 8 and 9, giving you more options to adjust and adapt to your opponents. Adding Sejuani with the LaserCorps trait provides additional CC and a strong frontline. Including Zoe or Leblanc with the Hacker trait can help Zed  gain access to enemy backlines, making it easier to take out high priority targets. Adding Kaisa with the Recon trait provides more critical strike for Vayne. and let’s not forget about Urgot and Fiddlesticks which are both strong units that can help bolster your frontline or backline, depending on your needs.

Duelists details:

Vayne serves as the main carry, dealing significant damage with her Silver Bolt ability.

Zed's role in this lineup is to act as an assassin and eliminate key targets in the backline. His ability to teleport behind his target and shred their armor makes him a deadly threat to enemy carries.

Nilah is a great frontline tank for the duelist comp, providing sustain for other duelists. Her ability, Whirling Blade, allows her to deal magic damage to nearby  enemies while healing herself and allies for some health over 1 second.

Fiora, Yasuo, Gangplank, and Kayle are all Duelist trait bots.

3. LaserCorps:

Zed strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies with swift and deadly precision

laserCorps is a powerful team composition centered around a deadly combination of units and their combat drones. With a strong early game opener consisting of Renekton, Yasuo, and Ashe carrying items for 3-star Senna or Zed, this comp can dominate in the early game.

The core of the composition is either 5 or 7 LaserCorps. However, if you manage to make two  LaserCorps Spatulas with spatula + BF Sword or get a LaserCorps heart augment, you can play 9 LaserCorps.

This comp also benefits from items  such as Statikk Shiv and Ionic Spark that can take advantage of the drones' magic damage. Mordekaiser is the legendary unit in this comp and can be a game-changer with his ability to wipe out an entire board.

What This Comp Excels In:

Slamming: Prioritize early item slams and avoid holding components for perfect items in this comp. Tank items are recommended, while attack damage and attack speed items like Gunblade, Runaan's Hurricane, Last Whisper, and Giant Slayer are ideal for Ashe or Senna and can also be transferred to Zed.

Tempo: Playing a tempo comp like LaserCorps requires an aggressive playstyle, focusing on maintaining a strong win streak by leveling up to 5 and 6 quickly and rolling deep at level 6 and 7. LaserCorps are all about dominating early and mid game, securing an easy top 4, and potentially snowballing into a first-place victory. This comp requires proactive decision-making and risk-taking, as playing passively can lead to falling behind and losing your  momentum. This can be an effective way to climb the ranks quickly, but requires a good understanding of the meta and the ability to adapt to changes.

The Power of Hero Augments: This comp's hero augments are some of the most powerful in the game, providing unique and game-changing abilities. Options like Corps Focus for Ashe, Cull the Meek for Renekton, Spirit of the Exile for Yasuo, Corps Formation for Senna, Sejuani or Contempt of the Weak for Zed, and Obliterate for Mordekaiser, offer a wide range of abilities to choose from to suit your playstyle and your current situation.

Mix of AP and AD: This makes it difficult for opponents to itemize against you. Aegis and Dragon's Claw won't save opponents from your devastating AP damage. Bramble Vest and Defenders won't stop your drones from dealing massive AD damage. Your damage output is versatile and challenging to counter. You can handle any opponent, regardless of their chosen items or team composition.

High Cap: The potential to play 9 LaserCorps and Mordekaiser provides a high cap for the LaserCorps comp, allowing for an incredibly strong board in the end game that is almost unbeatable. This means that if you manage to reach this stage of the game, your chances of securing a top 1 or 2 finish are  significantly increased.

LaserCorps details:

Senna and Zed are the primary damage dealers of the team.

Ashe is a powerful carry in the early game, holding items until they can be transferred to Senna or Zed.

Sejuani acts as the main  tank for the team, providing crowd control with her Glacial Prison ability and soaking up damage with her high health pool.

Renekton and Yasuo both serve as trait bots in the LaserCorps comp. Renekton's brawler trait provides additional HP to your team. Meanwhile, Yasuo's duelist trait increases the attack speed of your Zed, which can help him output more damage in fights. While they are not the main carries of the comp, their traits are still important to the overall success of the team.

2. Spellslingers

Taliyah, the Stoneweaver

Spellslinger is a unique comp that relies on its 6 unit synergy to deal massive magic damage. Every 5 seconds, Spellslinger's next attack fires a magic orb at a random target, which explodes for 50%/150% Ability Power as magic damage. Taliyah is the main carry in this comp. A strong frontline consisting of Alistar, Annie, and Ekko is essential to protect Taliyah from enemy threats.

In one version of this comp, players can opt to play 8 spellslingers instead of 6 to increase the magic damage output. Another version of this comp is to combine it with 5 Star Guardians to make your units cast more and faster. Both these versions are especially potent when stacked with AP and mana items like Spear of Shojin, Jeweled Gaunt and Rabadon's Deathcap on Taliyah.

You can choose to stack tank items on either Ekko or Annie and use them as the primary frontline,as the  comp relies on Taliyah to deal the majority of the damage while Ekko and Annie soak up damage and control the battlefield with their crowd control abilities.

What This Comp Excels In:

High burst damage: Each unit in the Spellslinger comp deals massive amounts of damage to quickly shred through the frontline and pass to destroying the backline. Taliyah's spell hits where the enemy's units are grouped, making it even more efficient in dealing burst damage.

Flexible Unit Pool: This comp offers a wide range of unit choices, allowing you to adjust to the situation based on what units are available or what synergies you want to prioritize. Key units to watch for include Annie, Sona, LeBlanc, Alistar, Yuumi, Lulu, Zoe, Nunu, Fiddlesticks, and Urgot, with various combinations of these units offering different variations of the comp such as 4 Spellslinger, 5 Star Guardians, and even a Gadgeteen variation with Nunu and Zoe.

Easy Three-Stars: One of the significant advantages of the Spellslinger  comp is its flexibility in terms of rolling for 3-star units. With multiple units to target, you have the option to reroll at level 7 or 8 to increase your  chances of finding the units you need. This allows you to focus on getting 3-star units, which can greatly increase the damage output of your team. In particular, Annie, LeBlanc, Sona, and Zoe are excellent units  to target for 3-star upgrades.

Consistency: Taliyah is undoubtedly one of the most consistent carries in the game. She never  misses her spell or focuses on the wrong unit. Unlike other four cost champions that might prioritize the wrong target or deal negligible damage in team fights, Taliyah always targets grouped units, which is highly efficient when facing opponents with clustered units. Her spell travels through the entire board, dealing damage to all enemy champions in its path.

Crowd Control: This comp excels in crowd control, with multiple units having abilities that stun or knock up enemies, delaying the casting of opponents' abilities. Alistar's ability knocks up a single target for 1.5 seconds while Sona's third spell can stun nearby enemies. Ekko's taunt is also an effective way to control the battlefield, pulling nearby enemies towards him and away from your carries. Janna's twister is a great way to delay your opponent's abilities by knocking up the largest group of enemy units for 0.5 seconds, and Syndra's ability to randomly fling a unit onto the board towards the closest enemy, knocking them up, can also be a game-changer.  All of these abilities combined give this comp an edge in controlling the flow of the battle and setting up for  devastating counter-attacks.

Spellslingers details:

Taliyah is the primary  AP damage carry in this comp.

Annie, Ekko, and Alistar are all great frontline tanks that can soak up damage and buy time for your spellslingers to deal damage.

Leblanc, Sona, Lux and Janna are important supporting units in this comp. They work together to deal massive amounts of magic damage, while also providing crowd control and supportive abilities to keep the team alive.

1. Threats

Bel'veth, the menacing queen of the Threat composition

Let me tell you about the most powerful comp of them all: Threats. It's the kind of comp that makes your opponents tremble in fear, and rightfully so. With a whopping 8 champions in its roster, Threats can pack a punch with their powerful abilities and increased base stats, leaving your enemies reeling and begging for mercy.

What's great about Threats is that it's easy to play and beginner-friendly. You don't have to worry about complicated trait bonuses or synergies. You can simply play these champions and watch them wreak havoc on the board. And boy, are these champions strong. They can lead you straight to victory without breaking a sweat.

What I love about Threats is that there are so many variations of it. You have the option to play Aurelion Sol or a 3-star Vel’Koz as your AP carry, or perhaps an AD carry with Belveth. It all depends on the items you hit and your preferred playstyle.

But what really sets Threats apart is its rock-solid frontline. With Rammus and Zac leading the charge, your enemies will have a hard time taking down your tanks. And don't even get me started on the legendaries. Fiddlesticks and Urgot are the powerhouses of the game, and with them on your side, your team’s power becomes explosive.

What This Comp Excels In:

Versatility: The Threats comp has a variety of units with different roles, allowing you to adapt your playstyle based on the items you get and the opponents you face.

Strong abilities: Threats champions have powerful abilities that can deal massive damage and crowd control to enemies, making them valuable assets on the battlefield.

No Synergies Required: With Threats, you don't have to worry about specific trait bonuses as you would in other comps. This makes it a great choice for beginner players or those who don't want to overthink their strategy.

Splashing: "Splashing" refers to adding units from another comp or trait to your existing comp in order to strengthen it. With the Threats comp, you have the flexibility to splash in other units without worrying about breaking any trait synergies, as threats do not have a Trait bonus. This means that you can easily add in strong standalone units such as Sejuani, Aphelios, Mordekaiser and Samira. Similarly, if you are playing a different comp, you can splash in Threat units such as Vel'Koz or Aurelion Sol to add additional damage or utility to your team. This flexibility allows you to adjust your strategy on the fly based on the units and items that you are able to acquire throughout the game.

Threat Level: Maximum is one of the most impactful augments in the game, as it provides a substantial amount of extra health to your Threat champions. This extra health allows your frontline tanks to survive longer, while also making your carries harder to take down. With every Threat champion on your board, the augment grants an additional 75 maximum health, which can quickly add up and make your team nearly unkillable. This augment is particularly useful in the late game when battles can become prolonged and chaotic. The added health gives your champions the necessary durability to survive even the most extended fights, allowing them to continue dealing damage and turning the tide of battle in your favor.

Threats details

Bel’Veth is the main attack damage carry in this comp.

Aurelion Sol is the main ability power carry.

Rammus, Zac, and Cho'gath serve as your frontline tanks, soaking up damage for your carries.

Fiddlesticks and Urgot are your legendary units and serve as the win condition for this comp, as they provide both crowd control and damage.

In conclusion, if you're a beginner in Teamfight Tactics, don't fret about mastering all the different traits just yet. Instead, focus on these top 5 team compositions that are easy to play and powerful enough to carry you to victory. Whether you prefer a balanced team or a more specialized one, there's a comp that suits your playstyle. Give them a try and see which one works best for you.
