What’s your favorite origin story?

For AC fans, the answer is obvious. So we compiled a list of the 20 best weapons to use in the game!

Assassin’s Creed: Origins sets the stage for the AC games we’ve come to know and love over the last couple of decades.

This game is one of the first in the series to feature weapons with complex differences, so we put together a list (from early game to late game) of the best in the game:

20. Sword of the Free (regular sword)

It's freedom time, baby!

Likely the best early-game weapon, the “Sword of the Free” is a certified killing machine. The bleeding perk makes this weapon capable of handling anything thrown at you until better weapons become available.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 523
  • Max Quality: 117
  • Bleeding on Hit II
  • Critical Hit Rate II

How to get it: Complete the Quest: “Are You Not Entertained?”

 19. Humbaba’s Fang (regular sword)

Body Image

What is that thing?

Another great early game entry, “Humbaba’s Fang,” looks more like a machete than a sword; but thanks to its high damage potential and perks, this ugly duckling can swim with the best of them.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 527
  • Max Quality: 122
  • Combo Multiplier I
  • Critical Hit Rate IV
  • Sleep on Hit

How to get it: Purchase Heka Chests from the Nomad’s Bazaar

18. Imitation Siwan Khopesh (Sickle Sword)

Image
Body Image

Cursed, but worth it.

Although this legendary sickle sword is cursed, it is a favorite of many Assassin’s Creed: Origins fans. That’s right, even though it limits your health to 33%, this sword is so good that players don’t even care.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 824
  • Max Quality: 123
  • Critical Hit Damage I
  • Bleeding on hit II

How to get it: Complete the side quest “Forging Siwa” to obtain this legendary weapon.

17. Conductor of Souls (regular sword)

Image
Body Image

Next stop's the underworld!

One of the better weapons made available mid-game, the “Conductor of Souls” is a common favorite among gamers for its “health on kill” perk. Players can unlock this sword by competing in the Trials of the Gods.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 529
  • Max Quality: 124
  • Combo Multiplier III
  • Critical Hit Rate III
  • Health on Kill

How to get it: Complete one regular fight in the Trial of the Gods

16. Smoke and Mirrors (predator bow)

Image
Body Image

Smoke 'em good.

I’m of the opinion that bows are underappreciated by fans of assassin games. In the Assassin’s Creed franchise, predator bows are the quintessential tool of an assassin, allowing you to take down targets quietly from a distance. It doesn’t get much better than this flaming bow.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 859
  • Max Quality: 123
  • Critical Hit Rate II
  • On fire

How to get it: Kill the Phylake known as “the Iron Ram” to obtain this bow.

15. Sarissa (spear)

Image
Body Image

There's always a catch.

Although cursed, the “Sarissa” is one of the best weapons in Origins. Leaning on its massive max damage and level three critical hit damage, you’ll be fine as long as you do plenty of blocking and dodging.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 697
  • Max Quality: 124
  • Critical Hit Damage III
  • Adrenaline on Kill I

How to get it: Kill and loot “the Stranger”

Weapon Name Full Details:

14. Staff of Sehetep (scepter)

Image
Body Image

Straight out of Krokodopolis.

Some people like using staffs in these games, and some people don’t. Either way, this staff is one of the best in the game, despite its low damage capability. Find it after killing the corrupt priest in Krokodilopolis.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 363
  • Max Quality: 119
  • Combo Multiplier II
  • Bleeding on hit I
  • Health on Kill

How to get it: Complete “Bad Faith”

Weapon Name Full Details:

13. Hepzefa’s Sword (regular sword)

Image
Body Image

Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?

Some men just want to watch their swords burn.

If you are one of those men, look no further than “Hepzefa’s Sword.” The damage potential is excellent, but the flames are a “double-edged sword,” as they can ignite things like oil and cause damage to the player.

Bad puns aside, this sword is a fine choice for a Medjay roaming around ancient Egypt.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 527
  • Max Quality: 122
  • Andrenaline on Hurt II
  • Critical Hit Rate III
  • On fire

How to get it: You will receive this sword upon completing “the Final Weighing.”

12. Compendium (shield)

Image
Body Image

Come back with your shield, especially if it looks this good.

My personal favorite weapon in Assassin’s Creed: Origins is actually a shield.

You never want to go with style over substance; luckily, “Compendium” has both. Simply put, the “Compendium” shield is O.P.

What makes it great:

  • Max HP: 1202
  • Max Quality: 124
  • Ranged resistance IV
  • Damaged absorption value III
  • Bleeding on block

How to get it:  Complete “the Good Roman” mission to acquire Compendium

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Compendium

11. Trophy Hunter (predator bow)

Image
Body Image

Hunt for sport AND for survival.

Predator bows shine in this game, and this one’s elevation multiplier makes it especially deadly. Find this bow in the military camp in Uab Nome; aside from taking on two massive elements trying to kill you, acquiring the “Trophy Hunter” isn’t all that hard.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 859
  • Max Quality: 123
  • Stealth Damage II
  • Critical Hit Damage III
  • Elevation Multiplier

How to get it: You can obtain this bow by defeating two war elephants (Qetesh and Resheph)

Weapon Name Full Details:

10. Bow of Ra (light bow)

Image
Body Image

This bow is on fire!

While it doesn’t have the range of a predator bow, the “Bow of Ra” should not be ignored. With its impressive damage and rate of fire, it is an excellent companion while facing off against your enemies in Egypt.

What makes it great:

  • Base Damage: 835
  • Base Quality: 100
  • Rate of Fire II
  • Combo Multiplier I
  • On Fire

How to get it: To get the Bow of Ra, complete the quest: “the Greater Good”

Weapon Name Full Details:

9. The Fourth Plague (warrior bow)

Image
Body Image

Let my people go!

Hunter bows are the perfect medium-range weapon in the Assassin’s Creed games, and this one is likely best in class. This bow's damage is insane, and the perks round it out very nicely.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 1479
  • Max Quality: 123
  • Precision IV
  • Critical Hit Damage II
  • Health on Hit

How to get it: Kill the Phylake known as “the Galatian”

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/The_Fourth_Plague

8. Golden Wolf (regular sword)

Image
Body Image

Looks can be deceiving.

Another fan favorite, the “Golden Wolf,” is a great “do it all” kind of weapon found mid to late game.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 519
  • Max Quality: 121
  • Critical Hit Damage II
  • Critical Hit Rate IV
  • Health on Kill

How to get it: Loot off of the Outsider; additionally available for purchase at Nomad’s Bazaar or Hidden Ones Bureau.

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Golden_Wolf

7. Was Scepter (scepter)

Image
Body Image

Low damage, solid results.

The “Was Scepter” is definitely lacking in the damage department, but don’t let that fool you; its perks make it a worthy addition to any assassin’s collection.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 368
  • Max Quality: 124
  • Combo Multiplier IV
  • Critical Hit Rate II
  • Health for Critical

How to get it: Compete in the scepter fight in the Trial of the Gods

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Was_Scepter

6. Storm Blades (dual swords)

Image
Body Image

Buy one get one free!

Objectively one of the better weapons in the game, the “Storm Blades” are a legendary set of short blades available after taking down Ra’s Mercy.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 524
  • Max Quality: 122
  • Adrenaline Regeneration III
  • Critical Hit Rate II
  • Instant Charging

How to get it: Defeat and loot Ra’s Mercy

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Storm_Blades

5.  Tooth of Sobek (heavy blade)

Image
Body Image

It just looks mean.

For those who prefer a more patient combat style in exchange for heavy damage, the “Tooth of Sobek” has what you’re looking for. The only heavy blade on our list, this big hitter requires the acquisition of the Hidden Ones DLC.

What makes it great:

  • Base Damage: 505
  • Base Quality: 100
  • Andrenaline on Hurt III
  • Adrenaline II
  • Instant Charging

How to get it: Complete the “Shadows of Scarab” questline in the Hidden Ones expansion

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Tooth_of_Sobek

4. Amun’s Might (regular sword)

Image
Body Image

One of the game's best.

This one doesn’t burst into flames or anything cool like that, but don’t write it off just yet! Favored for its high damage potential and instant charging, “Amun’s Might” is another amazing weapon found in the later portion of the game.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 581
  • Max Quality: 122
  • Critical Hit Damage III
  • Critical Hit Rate IV
  • Instant Charging

How to get it: Complete the “Gods or Creed” side quest.

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Amun%27s_Might

3. Aten’s End (spear)

Image
Body Image

For warriors who like to bite off more than they can chew.

Although spears don’t conjure up images of assassins, it’s been my personal favorite category in the last few Assassin’s Creed games. “Aten’s End” is available in the DLC The Curse of the Pharaos.

The spear boasts high damage potential, a level four combo multiplier, and health on kill, which makes it great for fighting multiple opponents.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 470
  • Max Quality: 117
  • Health on Kill
  • Critical Hit Damage I
  • Combo Multiplier IV

How to get it: Kill Tutankhamun in the Curse of the Pharaos DLC

Weapon Name Full Details:

https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Aten%27s_End

2.  Lord of Thebes (scepter)

Image
Body Image

The best staff in the game.

In addition to being a good weapon, it’s worth mentioning that the side quest to get it is a lot of fun and should not be skipped. The damage potential is high for a scepter, and the health perk will make you a formidable opponent.

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 412
  • Max Quality: 123
  • Health on Hit
  • Critical Hit Rate II
  • Combo Multiplier II

How to get it: Complete the sidequest: “Unfair Trade”

Weapon Name Full Details:

1. Sunslayer (regular sword)

Image
Body Image

The golden blade.

The “Sunslayer” is another high-damage sword available to higher-level players who compete in the Trial of the Gods. In addition to excellent stats, it’s gorgeous; check out that gold!

What makes it great:

  • Max Damage: 599
  • Max Quality: 125
  • Combo Multiplier III
  • Critical Hit Rate IV
  • Health for Critical

How to get it: Complete one community challenge in the Trial of the Gods
