If you’re new to the game, you’ve probably already tried looking for “the best warframe weapons for beginners.” on the internet. But you quickly realize that their definition of a beginner is Mastery Rank (MR) 8 or 9 or even higher. It already takes at least a month to reach MR 6 or higher for casual players and, god knows how long for MR 10+.

So, I made a list of the best weapons for players from MR 1-6 that can help you grind through the initial phases of the game.

Here are the top 10 best beginner weapons in Warframe:

10. Galatine

The spinning attack animation looks really good. You should definately check it out.

Ask any veteran player and, most of them will tell you to get a Galatine for the first few junctions. This greatsword is one of the fastest swingers despite being a heavy weapon. Its disadvantage is that it’s got low base damage and crit rate, but still, it’s a pretty good weapon. You can get this weapon at MR 3 and above.

  • It has a high status chance.
  • It is one of the fastest greatswords in the game.
  • It deals slash damage which is good against health.

Stats:

  • Damage: 182
  • Attack Speed: 1
  • Crit chance/ multiplier: 10%,2x
  • Status chance: 20%
  • Heavy Damage: 1092

You can get the blueprint for Galatine from the Market.

9. Amphis

An electrical staff?

If you like ending things with a finisher, then you should give Amphis a try. This weapon mainly deals Impact damage, which makes enemies more vulnerable to finisher attacks. You won’t be relying on its crit damage, but you can still lash out decent elemental damage with its high status chance. You can unlock this weapon at MR 5.

  • It mainly deals Impact damage, which is good against shields.
  • It deals electric damage on slam attacks.
  • It has the second fastest attacks speed among all staves.

You can already feel the pain from the whipcracking sound.

It has low base damage and attack speed, but you can always use mods like Serration or Fury to increase its damage. You can unlock this weapon at MR 5.

7. Boltor

You most likely already have this anyway.

Boltor is extremely easy to get and, it doesn’t require high-level modding knowledge to get the most out of it. Unlike other rifle weapons, the projectile fired from the Boltor has a travel time, so it is best to use it at close to mid range. It also flings enemies killed by the projectile, so in a way, you can use it as a crowd controller. You can unlock this weapon at MR 2.

  • It primarily deals puncture damage, which is good against shields.
  • It has good accuracy.
  • Its body flinging mechanics helps with crowd control.

6. Hek

Its recoil is going to break itself someday.

Hek might be a shotgun, but its range and tight spread cone makes it perfect for using it in mid to long range. It comes with a low magazine capacity, but each shot deals massive damage. It also has an exclusive mod, Scattered Justice, that gives you 200% multishot. If you favor a shotgun over a rifle, you can get yourself a Hek. You can unlock Hek at MR 4.

The minimum requirement to wield this weapon is MR 5.

  • It has one of the highest crit chances of all primary weapons.
  • Aiming increases the accuracy of the weapon.
