Warframe Best Sniper

With hundreds of guns available to build in Warframe, it can be hard to find the right one for you. Sometimes, I have a gun I want to build, but after using it a few times I realize it’s barely above average. You can get the gun to level 30, sell it, and then start over again, or you could get yourself a reliable gun that will stick with you to the end.

You want a gun that can take you through high level missions and Eidolon Hunts. For that, you definitely want to build yourself a sniper rifle. Sniper rifles can have an insane amount of critical damage, allowing you to one-shot group of enemies.

Below are the top three sniper rifles that are essential to your arsenal.

3. Vectis Prime

“Once thought destroyed, the newly uncovered Vectis Prime revives Tenno martial traditions.”

If you’ve made it to Mastery Rank 14, then you should definitely consider making Vectis Prime . This sniper rifle has a magazine capacity of two, but deals the second highest base damage, just below Lanka when charged. Since the magazine capacity is low, the rifle has an incredible reload speed of .85 seconds. Vectis Prime is perfect for enemies with strong armor and shields.

Stats:

  • 140 Impact
  • 157.5 Puncture
  • 52.5 Slash
  • 350 Total Damage
  • 30% Crit Chance
  • 30% Status Chance

What’s Good about Vectis Prime:

  • Great against Grineer
  • Fastest Reload Speed of all sniper rifles
  • 40-60% Bonus Headshot Damage when zoomed (highest headshot bonus on list)
  • While not the best option, still good for Eidolon Hunts
  • Non-Prime version still great in missions, and easier to get

How to Get it:

Because this gun is Prime, you can only get it in void relics. Unfortunately, Vectis Prime is currently vaulted, and the parts can’t be obtained through any relics that are currently in game. If you want Vectis Prime, you could go to Warframe Market and trade platinum for the blueprints or wait for it to be unvaulted.

2. Lanka

“The Lanka fires a high velocity projectile through magnetic induction.”

Before you start an Eidolon Hunt, you definitely want to have Lanka with you. This sniper rifle is praised as the best weapon for killing an Eidolon Terralyst, dealing a crazy amount of Electricity damage with each shot. Some people even claim that Lanka can one-shot the Terralyst’s limbs, killing it twice as fast.

Stats (Charged):

  • 525 Electricity and Total Damage
  • 25% Crit Chance
  • 25% Status Chance

What’s Good about Lanka:

  • Your go-to weapon for Eidolon Hunts
  • Electricity damage great against robotics (Corpus)
  • Access to Voltage Sequence; a Lanka exclusive mod
  • Only Sniper Rifle that charges, boosting total damage from 200 to 525
  • With AoE mods, Lanka can destroy entire crowds of enemies

How to Get it:

Lanka can be built in the Energy Lab of your clam dojo. To make Lanka, you first need to research Dera, Prova, and Fieldron.

1. Rubico Prime

“For the hunter, the apex of the sniper's art. For the hunted, a gateway to the next life.”

With one of the fastest fire rates of all sniper rifles, Rubico Prime is a favorite among players. While Lanka is great for taking out one strong enemy (Eidolon hunts and assassinations), Rubico Prime is better for your average mission with more targets.

Stats:

  • 149.6 Impact
  • 28.1 Puncture
  • 9.3 Slash
  • 187 Total Damage
  • 38% Crit Chance
  • 16% Status Chance

What’s Good about Rubico Prime:

  • If you don’t have Lanka, this is also a great alternative option for Eidolon Hunts
  • Highest Crit Chance of all Sniper Rifles
  • Only needs one shot to begin Shot Combo Counter
  • Impact damage effective against enemies with high shields
  • Normal Rubico is still great for Eidolon hunts, so if you can’t build the Prime version, or aren’t Mastery Rank 12, you could definitely build that instead

How to Get it:

  • You can get the parts for Rubico Prime from void relics.
  • Blueprint: Rare in Meso R1
  • Barrel: Uncommon in Meso Z2
  • Receiver: Uncommon in Lith A3 and Lith K2
  • Stock: Uncommon in Meso E2
