5. Nightglow

Light up the night with this magic lantern!

The Nightglow is a magic weapon that's very lethal when used correctly. Although this can be considered a crowd control weapon, it does very decent single-target damage as well. It shoots out four sparks of magic that home in on nearby enemies striking them three times each, losing a bit of damage with each strike.

What makes the Nightglow awesome:

  • Can hit an enemy or group of monsters 12 times with a single cast
  • The projectiles are fast and precise making it great for elusive monsters

Weapon stats:

  • Damage - 50 (Magic)
  • Knockback - 2.5 (Very weak)
  • Critical chance - 4%
  • Use time - 36 (Very slow)
  • Velocity - 34

4. Eventide

Eat my rainbow lances!

Ranged weapons are a popular choice when it comes to dealing with the Moon Lord as he's often a bit out of reach for regular short-ranged combat. The Eventide has one of the best raw DPS when it comes to this point in the game and is relatively cheap when it comes to ammo. The bow uses regular wooden arrows and transforms them into 5 rainbow lances that do twice the weapon's damage each.

What makes the Eventide awesome:

  • Does an insane amount of damage with a bit of practice when it comes to leading shots
  • Raising the bow's stats through accessories and equipment affects the overall damage by up to 10 times. (Each lance does 2x weapon damage and is shot 5x at once)

Weapon stats:

  • Damage - 50 (Ranged)
  • Knockback - 2 (Very weak)
  • Critical chance - 4%
  • Use time - 30 (Average)
  • Velocity - 10

3. Flairon

Using Fishron's head as a flail is a great idea

As we mentioned in our previous entry, short-ranged combat is out of the question when it comes to the Moon Lord. The only way a melee class player can deal effective damage is by the use of pseudo-ranged melee weapons like the Flairon. This weapon shoots out a flail similar to that of a Chain Knife and will launch bubbles every few frames that it is out.

What makes the Flairon awesome:

  • The weapon releases homing bubbles every 1/15th of a second
  • Each bubble does the weapon's base damage and does not inflict debuffs
  • Ichor flasks, Magma accessories, and Frostburn can only be inflicted by the head of the flail

Weapon stats:

  • Damage - 66 (melee)
  • Knockback - 4.5 (Average)
  • Critical chance - 4%
  • Use time - 20 (Fast)
  • Velocity - 14

2. Chain Gun

Ratatatatatatatatatatatat!

The Chain Gun is the most effective machine gun weapon at this point in time. This weapon drops from the Santa-NK1 during the Frostmoon event and is highly useful for its absurd rate of fire. Pair this with Chlorophyte Bullets to deal with the weapon's lack of accuracy or just "spray and pray" with the Endless Musket Pouch and you're good to go!

What makes the Chain Gun awesome:

  • Has a higher rate of fire than the S.D.M.G
  • It can shoot up to 900 shots/minute, which means it's a huge ammo sponge if not for its innate 50% ammo reduction chance effect

Weapon stats:

  • Damage - 31 (Ranged)
  • Knockback - 1.75 (Very weak)
  • Critical chance - 4%
  • Use time - 4 (Insanely fast)
  • Velocity - 14
  • 50% chance of not consuming ammo

1. Terraprisma

Poke the Moon Lord's eye out!

Summoners have a good advantage when it comes to dealing with the Moon Lord. This is because there are too many things to worry about in the fight. In this case, the summoner's minions do the damage while you, the player, focus all on dodging. Assuming that you got the Terraprisma in a legit way, then dodging should not be an issue for you.

What makes the Terraprisma awesome:

  • Summons accurate minions that have fast homing capabilities. Excellent for dispatching Moon Lord's summoned mobs

Weapon stats:

  • Damage - 90 (Summon)
  • Knockback - 4 (Weak)
  • Mana - 10
  • Use Speed - 36 (Average)
  • Velocity - 10
