[Top 5] No Man's Sky Best Fighters

No Man's Sky Best Fighters
Updated:
02 May 2020

When it comes to No Man’s Sky, there’s a lot of ways to play. Almost as many as there are galaxies in the game - okay, not really, there’s not an infinite amount of ways to play but there sure are a lot. This article will cover fighters, for those of you who like to pick fights with other players, pirates, or freighters. These are the best ships for you. So go out there, get them, and go blow some crap to smithereens. Note: Most, if not all of these, require you to use a portal from the starter galaxy.

5) Utsub’s Magnificent Protector (Crashed)

How to Find the Rarest and Best Fighter Ship | No Man's Sky Synthesis 2020

The Utsub’s Magnificent Protector is an S-Class ship. It’s black and red and looks positively alien to me. I couldn’t even begin to properly explain how it looks. It won’t be hard to find because it’s crashed, it should be the only one at the location. It’s bulky and, like I said already, black and red.

  • The Utsub’s Magnificent Protector’s stats are +48% damage, +17% shields, and +6% hyperdrive (classic for a fighter).
  • The Utsub’s Magnificent Protector has 38 general slots and 12 technology slots. This is really good for a fighter.
  • This ship is worth 57,500,000 (fifty seven million, five hundred thousand) units.

How To Get The Utsub’s Magnificent Protector:

  • You'll need all 16 glyphs (you get these by talking to Fellow Travellers at the space stations - they look different to all the other aliens so they're easy to find. All you have to do is ask them where they're from, which will cost you 100 nanites, and then go to that location. That location is always a grave and that grave will you give you a glyph) and a portal (this can be found by going to a monolith, which will give you a riddle and then one of the options is "find portal location." In order to find the portal, you'll need race-specific items to locate the portal - for example, if you're in a Gek system, you'll need nip nip buds and if you're in a Korvac system, you'll need a convergence cube) to get to the location.
  • Activate your portal and put in these coordinates: Sunrise, Sunrise, Triforce, Beetle, Triforce, Beetle, Boat, Dinosaur, Octagon, Ship with Dots, Whale, and Moon.
  • Once you walk through the portal, you’ll need to hop in your ship and leave the planet. Then you take a right and head towards the gusty planet, it’s a brown planet with big rings around it. You’ll have to use your pulse engine to get there. Once you’ve found the planet, fly to the coordinates +63.21, +0.49. There you will find the crashed fighter ship.
  • Now all you have to do is transfer your inventory and claim the fighter as your own. Fix it up and you’re ready to head for the stars.

4) Omano of Air (Crashed)

How to Find a Crashed S Class Fighter Ship | No Man's Sky Beyond Update 2019

The Omano of Air is a crashed fighter jet with a long nose. It’s green and white and looks about as alien and futuristic as possible. It’ll be the only ship at the location (aside from the ship you flew in with) so it’ll be super easy to spot. Think of shows like Star Trek or movies like Star Wars. It could easily have come out of one of them.

  • Its stats are +47% damage, +33% shield, and +6% hyperdrive.
  • It has 38 general slots and 12 technology slots.
  • It’s worth 57,500,000 (fifty seven million, five hundred thousand) units. The beauty of a crashed ship, though, is that you get it for free! All you have to do is fix that bad boy up and it’s yours!

How To Get The Omano of Air:

  • You’ll need a portal and the glyphs (explanation in number five). Once you’ve activated the portal, put in these coordinates: Sunrise, Sunrise, Dragonfly, Ship with Dots, Starship, Octagon, Ship with Dots, Bird, Teepee, Hot-Air Balloon, Boat, Ship with Dots.
  • Once you walk through the portal, hop in your ship. You’ll need to fly to the coordinates (found in your left-hand corner console) of +48.04, +112.55, just a little north of the portal.
  • After you’ve got there, all you have to do is claim the ship as your own and fix it up and bam! Now you own the Omano of Air.

3) AX2 Suchitaa

How to Find a S Class Hot Rod Fighter Ship | No Man's Sky Synthesis 2020

The AX2 Suchitaa is an S-Class fighter, just like the rest of the ships I’ve listed. It’s red and grey with a long nose. It should be easy to spot once you’ve got to where it is. It reminds me of your classic jet, just like the next one, to be honest. Think of your classic hot rod car. Got the image? Now imagine that as a spaceship and you’ve got the AX2 Suchitaa.

  • Its stats are +55% damage, +42% shield, and +10% hyperdrive.
  • It has 29 general slots and 5 technology slots.
  • It’s worth 18,200,000 (eighteen million, two hundred thousand) units.

How To Get The AX2 Suchitaa:

  • Again, you’ll need a portal and all the glyphs. They’re easy enough to find (explanation listed in number 5). Once you’ve activated that portal, put in these coordinates: Ship with dots, Sunrise, Starship, Dinosaur, Triforce, Starship, Hot-Air Balloon, Triforce, Beetle, Dinosaur, Octagon, and Dinosaur.
  • Once you’ve walked through, hop into your starship and fly to the nearest trading post. Hop out and create an autosave. This is important as you may need to reload your game several times before the right one lands (it’s not an exotic so it may not always be an S-Class when it lands).
  • After it’s landed, all you have left to do is to talk to the captain and either buy or trade (if you’re maxed out on ships) the AX2 Suchitaa. Once you’ve done that, the bad boy is all yours!

2) GJ9 Iokina

How to Find a S Class Long Nose Fighter Ship | No Man's Sky Synthesis 2020

The GJ9 Iokina is an S-Class. Like the rest of these ships, it’s a fighter type ship, not an exoctic, so sometimes you may have to reload the save until an S-Class shows up. The ship is black and white with a long nose at the front. It looks a bit like your classic jet, just a bit more alien (as all the ships in No Man’s Sky somehow manage). To find out if you’ve found the right one, just pull out your scanner and hover over the ship, it should tell you.

  • Its stats are +49% damage, 32% shields, 5% hyperdrive.
  • It has 38 general slots and 12 technology slots.
  • It’s worth 57,500,000 (fifty seven million, five hundred thousand) units.

How To Get The GJ9 Iokina:

  • Like the previous ship, you’ll need a portal and the glyphs. Once you’ve activated that portal, put in the following coordinates: Sunrise, Sunrise, Sunrise, Hot-Air Balloon, Sunrise, Sunrise, Ship with Dots, Triforce, Y-Tree, Black Hole, Starship, and Black Hole. Once the portal is open, just walk on through.
  • After you’ve walked through the portal, you’re going to want to hop in your starship. This one is a bit more complicated though as you’ll need the technology called “Economy Scanner” to scan for trading posts. Once you’ve landed, hop out to create an autosave. This is very important as you’ll likely have to reload your save multiple times before one lands.
  • Once the right ship has landed, all that’s left for you to do is to talk to the captain and negotiate the sale of the ship. Don’t forget to transfer your items from your previous ship! After all that, the ship is yours!

1) The Focus of the Stars

How to Find The Best Black S Class Fighter | No Man's Sky Synthesis 2020

The Focus of the Stars is, like the previous ones, an S-Class, fighter type ship. It’s gold and black and has a little nose at the front. Like number 3, it looks positively alien to me. It’s also got the highest capacity of any fighter. I could go into more detail about what it looks like or I could just go ahead and tell you more about it and how and where to get it.

  • Its stats are +59% damage, +15% shield, and +0% hyperdrive. It does a lot more damage than the previous ones, making up for what it lacks in hyperdrive with a harder punch.
  • It has 38 general slots and 12 technology slots.
  • It’s worth 57,500,000 (fifty seven million, five hundred thousand) units.

How To Get The Focus of the Stars:

  • You’ll need a portal and the glyphs for this one, as is the case for most, if not all S-Class ships. Once you’ve got your portal activated, put in these coordinates: Sunrise, Sunrise, Dinosaur, Boat, Sunrise, Triforce, Sunrise, Octagon, Octagon, Dragonfly, Teepee, and Octagon.
  • Once you’ve walked through the portal, hop in your ship and fly to the nearest trading post. It’s a first-wave ship so you’ll want to hop out of your ship once you land to create an autosave and then reload your game to ensure you get the first-wave bout of ships. You may have to reload a number of times.
  • Once your save reloads, do not move for 45 seconds. If you do, you could mess up the random-number generator and it could take longer for the ship to land. It’s in your best interest to just stand still until the ship lands.
  • Once it lands, all that’s left is to talk to the captain and buy (or trade) the ship and it’s yours! Congrats! Now you know how to find the top 5 S-Class fighters!
