7. Outpost

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSaiHMjg9Dc

Picture yourself in the middle of combat, enemies coming from all directions, encircling and ultimately killing your team. You're the only one left while there are still 20 seconds left before the attack ends. It's now or never.

Heavily equipped enemies and suicide bombers are sent in a desperate attempt by the enemy to seize and take hold of the objective. You fend them off one by one, dropping them like flies. Until finally, the timer ends, and the enemy retreats. You've done it.

Only in Outpost, you could feel the adrenaline rushing in as tons of enemies come from all directions. Even though you're going up against bots, their numbers and unique behavior is what makes Outpost, Outpost.

How Outpost works:

  • Defend the objective against all waves of enemies to win.
  • Start off with a small amount of supply points, gaining more after each wave.
  • If your team gets wiped out or the objective gets captured, you retreat to the next objective.
  • Dead teammates can only respawn after a wave has finished its attack.

What’s great about Outpost:

  • Special enemies appear once in a while.
  • Good for those looking for more casual gameplay.

6. Checkpoint

PvP can be frustrating sometimes. Going against sweats and experienced players won't turn out to be a good gaming experience, most of the time. Good thing there's Checkpoint. It is a nice mode to take a break from the usual stuff in PvP since you can still play slow, and you'll die less often.

The goal in Checkpoint is to capture and destroy all objectives while moving across the map. Enemy bots will be lurking around and waiting in every corner, so watch out.

How Checkpoint works:

  • Capture all objectives to win.
  • Capturing an objective may initiate an enemy counter-attack in which the players must repel.
  • Teammates will respawn only when an objective is captured or destroyed.

What’s great about Checkpoint:

  • Allows for a strategic yet casual gameplay
  • Newbie friendly

5. Hardcore Checkpoint

The bots in Insurgency: Sandstorm can sometimes be a bit too easy. If that’s the case for you as well, then give Hardcore Checkpoint a try! Much like Checkpoint, you move across the map while capturing and destroying objectives. What makes this game mode hardcore is you get a limited HUD, equipment, and decreased movement speed. This gives a more realistic feel by moving at a slower pace and having fewer displays on the screen.

How Hardcore Checkpoint works:

  • Players get decreased movement speed, limited HUG, and limited equipment.
  • Capture all objectives to win.
  • Capturing an objective may initiate an enemy counter-attack in which the players must repel.
  • You will lose your equipment if you die and will respawn with limited equipment. Resupply at a supply crate to get your standard loadout back.
  • Teammates will only respawn when an objective is captured or destroyed.

What’s great about Hardcore Checkpoint:

  • Has a more realistic feel.
  • The limited HUD and slower movement speed will require a more strategic and tactical gameplay

4. Domination

The goal in Domination is simple: secure more objectives than the enemy team to gain points. The more you control, the faster your team's points rise.

Domination is also great if you're looking to experiment on different loadouts while going against real players. The gameplay is fast-paced, and matches typically don't last too long.

How Domination works:

  • Reach the target score before the enemy team to win.
  • Capture all objectives while preventing the enemy team from doing so.
  • The more objectives you hold, the faster you gain points.
  • Players respawn at random locations.

What’s great about Domination:

  • Fast-paced gameplay.

3. Frontline

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFh3q3h2Mmk

In Frontline, both teams act as a defender and attacker, exchanging blows until finally, one team successfully eliminates the enemy team or gets to their weapons cache.

Frontline is great if you like the concept of Push but don't want to be stuck on one role for the entire match. Since you can play both as an attacker and defender, you can mix things up and play according to your playstyle.

How Frontline works:

  • Capture all objectives while defending yours until you get to the enemy’s cache. Destroy the cache or eliminate all enemies to win.
  • Capturing an objective will give a team respawn waves, instantly respawn dead teammates, and allow them to move to the next objective.

What’s great about Frontline:

  • Allows both teams to act as a defender and attacker.

2. Firefight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQFqG7LX_eE

Firefight is known for its high-risk, high-intensity gameplay. This game mode is not for the faint of heart, as each player only has a single life. No respawn timers once you die, and the only way to get back on the action is to capture an objective.

How Firefight works:

  • Capture all objectives or eliminate the enemy team to win.
  • Securing an objective will respawn your team.

What’s great about Firefight:

  • Requires teamwork and communication to win.
  • Involves a strategic and tactical approach compared to other game modes.

1. Push

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTIeovu8PAg

If you've played the other PTSD simulator game known by the name of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, then this game mode should be familiar. Similar to RS2's Territories game mode, one team act as the attacker while the other being the defender.

The goal of the attacking team is to capture all objectives and destroy the cache at the very end while the defenders must defend and stop the attackers until they run out of respawn waves. Push can give you an awesome experience if you have a coordinated team that communicates.

How Push works:

  • The attacking team must capture all objectives and destroy the cache to win.
  • The defending team must defend the objectives until the timer runs out or all attackers are eliminated to win.
  • Securing an objective will give the attackers five respawn waves and five minutes to the timer. The defenders will lose all their respawn waves when the attackers get to the cache.

What’s great about Push:

  • Straightforward game mode.
  • Drop right into the action.
