With this new Gen 3 they have updated the BIOS. Unlike previous generations, the BIOS will only be visible when the armor first starts up. The overall function of the BIOS as seen in the original Halo, tests system devices such as the HUD (Heads Up Display), the energy shield system and basic functions like being able to move.

A new day and a new look for the Master Chief. Similar to the armor worn in Halo Reach, screen shots show the Master Chief with a new Black Undersuit. This is evidenced in the shots released by 343. The Black Undersuit for the multiplayer Spartan has also been confirmed.

In Mjolnir armor, the Master Chief can run up to 60 miles per hour. As part of being a Spartan, he is genetically enhanced to withstand the strain of the Mjolnir armor. A regular human body couldn’t withstand the strain of the armor as it actually speeds a person up, rather than slowing them down.
