15. Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Gameplay

In this game, you play the role of Henry, a young man whose family and hometown are slaughtered by invaders, prompting you to go on a quest to get strong enough in order to avenge them.

In order improve your fighting skills, you must train with NPCs in spars where swords clash, fight the Hungarian invaders, learn the right time to shoot someone with a bow, stab them with a dagger, or slash them with a sword, and repeat in order to gain new skills and perks.

There is also a fluid storyline with real life consequences for Henry and the world around him for you to do during your downtime from fighting. Just be careful not to accidentally strike any of your allies while showing off your skills or you’re in for a beating.

If you ever wanted to have a battle royale with hundreds of other dead Vikings over Odin’s sword in order to prevent the end of the world, then this game is for you.

If first person view is a bit to close and confusing for you, there is also the option to view the battle from a third person view in order to view your surroundings a bit better. Only you can stop the Ragnarök that is approaching.

You can set how your opponents act, depending on the type of armor they are wearing and the environment takes on damage the longer the fight drags on. Just make sure you aren’t the one getting chopped to bits.

6. Mount & Blade: Warband

Mount & Blade: Warband gameplay

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as gathering troops and fighting other factions in order to become a ruler of a war-torn country.

On this battlefield, you aren’t limited to the weapons you own, for you can pick up any projectile and chunk it at your enemy to hopefully take off their head.

Or you can go the old-fashioned way and just stab them with your sword. Or you can run them through with a javelin. It’s your choice.

5. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord 2

Mount & Blade: Bannerlord 2 gameplay

You can also slash opponents your enemy’s sword after you’ve slain them for extra irony. And if that is a bit too barbaric for you, there’s only diplomatic options that impact the whole world from peace treaties to treason pacts.
