Far Cry 5 Best Difficulty - Which To Choose

Far Cry 5, Far Cry, Difficulty

In Far Cry 5, you’ll be traveling across the mid-western region of Hope County liberating outposts, engaging in shootouts when your stealthy efforts fail, and freeing the town from the control of the Seed family. A hard task already, but difficulty settings can adjust just how hard that task is. Whether you’ve just begun playing or are working through another playthrough in Far Cry 5, we all know what it’s like to hit that Mode Selection page and wonder: what’s the best choice for me? As always, we’ll explain the reasons behind why each difficulty mode would be the best for you.

4. Easy Mode

Sometimes we all like a little “easy peasy lemon squeezy”, and with this level, you’ll be making lemonade with every second you play.

How It Works:

  • Navigate to New Game
  • Choose Easy Mode
  • Mode can be changed at any time from settings on Pause Menu

Choose This Difficulty If:

  • You are new to First Person Shoot (FPS) games
  • You are new to Open World play games
  • You are looking to get the most out of the story line while having the least anxiety about gameplay

3. Normal Mode

So it’s not your first rodeo, or at least you’ve played other games and know how the concept of “riding the bull” works. You’ll be playing Normal but trust me, this game still packs a good ol honky tonk punch.

How It Works:

  • Navigate to New Game
  • Choose Normal Mode
  • Mode can be changed at any time from settings on Pause Menu

Choose This Difficulty If:

  • You have played First Person Shooter games before
  • You are familiar with Open World game play games
  • You are interested in plot but can manage replaying some levels/missions if need be

2. Hard Mode

So this really is not your first rodeo. The difficulty here is really starting to be seen in the health given to enemies and their awareness of you. You must be able to really hone in on your Far Cry 5 skills and be an advanced player to beat the Seeds in this mode.

How It Works:

  • Navigate to New Game
  • Choose Hard Mode
  • Mode can be changed at any time from settings on Pause Menu

Choose This Difficulty If:

  • You are looking for a new challenge after your Easy/Normal playthrough
  • You are very comfortable with FPS games and open world play
  • You are ready to replay some missions for completion given new difficulty

1. Infamous Mode

So maybe you’ve channeled Joseph Seed’s mentality and think you’re actually a God…well this is the difficulty that’ll test if that’s actually right. Enemies will be able to detect you much faster, they’ll be the hardest to kill while being able to dole out the most damage to you. Infamous mode also comes with a special prize, but we will make you play through to figure out what that is…

How It Works:

  • Navigate to New Game
  • Choose Infamous Mode
  • Mode can NOT be changed at any time from settings on Pause Menu, you will have to restart a New Game

Choose This Difficulty If:

  • You are excellent at FPS games and have had an easy time with previous game modes
  • You are very easily able to deal with an open world scenario
  • You are patient enough to deal with multiple replays of missions given difficulty
