10. 416-C Carbine

https://youtu.be/aLOXQNLY74Q?si=d1QvPcF7N59R695W&t=73

The 416-C Carbine is Jager’s unique weapon and its weapon kick is well-known to the Siege community as hard to control. That is the primary reason why it’s highly recommended to equip this gun with a vertical grip, because the attachment will greatly reduce its vertical recoil, allowing Jager to stabilize the overall recoil of the gun regardless of barrel attachments. With that said, obviously, the 416-C Carbine would be much easier to control if it’s equipped with a vertical grip alongside a barrel attachment that provides additional recoil control.

Another reason why it’s just generally better to have the vertical grip on the 416-C Carbine instead of the alternative, the angled grip, is because of Jager’s gameplay. While Jager can also perform roaming duties, most of the time, he’s used for anchoring, and when it comes to anchoring, players would most of the time have an idea where enemies are coming. That allows them to readily aim their weapons at a certain direction, so the aim-down-sight speed boost from the angled grip would be sort of wasted. Not to mention that its ADS speed boost was nerfed a few seasons ago.

What Makes the 416-C Carbine Great for Vertical Grip:

  • Jager’s 416-C Carbine is well-known to have a rough recoil and that’s mostly because of its strong kick per shot, especially its first shot recoil, and the vertical grip will greatly lower its overall vertical recoil
  • When paired with barrel attachments that provide more recoil control like the flash hider, compensator, or muzzle brake, the vertical grip will work really well in providing a stable shooting experience with the 416-C
  • The vertical grip’s vertical recoil control benefits is better in most cases than the alternative which is the ADS speed boost from the angled grip, especially when Jager is anchoring
  • Even if the player’s own recoil control is great, chances are, they’ll still be needing at least one attachment for this gun that adds recoil control, and better that be the vertical grip so they can use barrel attachments like the suppressor or extended barrel

9. SASG-12

https://youtu.be/SDuVEg6GjCQ?si=2wWrOfgo09D-jw3T&t=11

The SASG-12, available to Fenrir, Finka, and Kapkan, is one of the few shotguns in the game that can be equipped with either an angled grip or a vertical one. In most cases, the player user would be benefiting more with a vertical grip because the SASG-12's vertical recoil is actually pretty strong. Now a lot of people might think that the SASG-12 is a single-shot weapon, so its recoil doesn’t matter that much, but that’s wrong. It might be great for flick shots, but for continuous firing, which the user will do when the opponent isn’t taken down with one shot or there are multiple of them, vertical recoil control is important.

Because having good vertical recoil control on the SASG-12 will allow the user to maintain line of sight on enemies even when firing consecutive shots with it. Just imagine it. If the SASG-12's recoil kicks the weapon too high, it’ll take longer for the player to recover their normal crosshair placement, and that’ll be detrimental, especially when there are multiple enemies. The operators that have the SASG-12 are also played mostly for anchoring, and as mentioned before, when players are anchoring, they’d mostly be prepared and in aim-down-sights already before the enemies appear.

What Makes the SASG-12 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The SASG-12 has a pretty strong vertical weapon kick, but luckily, it’s one of the few shotguns in the game that can be equipped with a vertical grip that’ll greatly lower its vertical recoil
  • The vertical grip lowering its overall vertical recoil will greatly help the user in lining up their shots as the weapon won’t kick too high whenever it’s being shot
  • Most of the time, the operators that have access to the SASG-12 are anchoring, and in most player’s cases, they can go into aim-down-sights before the enemy arrives when anchoring, so vertical recoil control is more important that ADS speed
  • The added vertical recoil control from the vertical grip attachment will also be of great help when the SASG-12 is being fired through the hips as it’ll help the user not to lose a lot of control of the weapon

  • Damage - 26
  • Mobility - 50

8. SMG-12

https://youtu.be/nbOtdDqHAko?si=sLE9Jgna391Uo_Y7&t=9

The SMG-12 is a machine pistol and is available to Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Warden. Its existence is basically the reason why Dokkaebi and Vigil can afford to equip the BOSG.12.2 as their primary weapon, and same when it comes to Warden and his M590A1 shotgun. That’s because if the BOSG.12.2 fails or the enemies are outside the range of the M590A1, the user can just switch to the SMG-12 and have a fully automatic weapon that can hit enemies from long range. The SMG-12 is basically a mini submachine gun and can be treated as a primary weapon.

The problem with it is that its recoil is very rough. Its first shot recoil is very strong, its overall vertical recoil is high, and it is prone to strong horizontal and random recoil from all directions. That is why it is best to equip it with a vertical grip. With a vertical grip, its overall vertical recoil will be greatly lowered, and while that doesn’t really lower its horizontal or random recoil from all directions, having more control over the weapon’s vertical kick will allow them to have better control of the horizontal and random recoil from all directions as well.

What Makes the SMG-12 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The SMG-12 is one of the guns that has the hardest recoil to control in the game, and equipping it with a vertical grip will go a long way in having the best recoil control possible on the weapon
  • The SMG-12's horizontal and random recoil from all directions is also strong and the vertical grip only lowers vertical recoil, however, with the vertical recoil lowered, it’ll also be easier to control its horizontal and random recoil from all directions
  • In the case of the SMG-12, because its stock recoil is very strong, it is very unlikely for a player, or at least most players, to have any decent control on its recoil without a vertical grip
  • While the ADS speed boost will greatly benefit the user with this weapon because it’ll allow them to go into ADS faster after switching to it, it’s just going to be very hard to control the SMG-12 without a vertical grip

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 28
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 1,270 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 32 + 1

7. SMG-11

https://youtu.be/zPmDJnQZMTU?si=HZpZXfhtr460PCml&t=28

Like the SMG-12 above, the SMG-11 is also a machine pistol and is available to Smoke, Mute, Amaru, and Solis. But unlike the SMG-12, the SMG-11 is compatible with more kinds of attachments, so its recoil is slightly better. That doesn't mean, however, that its weapon kick is easy to control. Far from that, actually, because the SMG-11 is also well-known for its rough recoil. That’s why for the user to experience the best recoil control possible with it, they’ll have to equip the vertical grip alongside a flash hider which will go to the gun’s barrel.

With both the flash hider and vertical grip lowering the weapon’s overall vertical recoil, the SMG-11 should be easier to control and will really allow Smoke, Mute, Amaru, and Solis to equip their M590A1 shotgun as their primary weapon. With that setup, those four operators can have the superiority in close quarters combat while still being capable of fragging opponents at medium to close range because the SMG-11 is fully automatic and can hit targets at those distances. Without the vertical grip, the SMG-11 will feel almost unusable because of its very strong weapon kick.

What Makes the SMG-11 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The SMG-11 is a machine pistol with a very high rate of fire which results in a very hard to control recoil, so it’s best to equip it with a vertical grip because it will greatly lower its overall vertical recoil
  • This machine pistol’s weapon kick is so hard to control that without the presence of the vertical grip attachment, it’ll be virtually uncontrollable, so it just makes more sense to use the vertical grip
  • If the user’s goal is to have the best recoil control possible on the SMG-11, their best setup would be with a vertical grip attachment partnered with a flash hider on its barrel
  • The horizontal and random recoil of the SMG-11 is also very strong, but with the vertical grip lowering its overall vertical recoil, the user will also find it easier to control its horizontal and random recoil from all directions

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 35
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 1,270 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 16 + 1

6. M4

https://youtu.be/taAvUq96LhA?si=_TvGVgYy89x8IpZ6&t=189

The M4 is unique to operator Maverick and is the go-to weapon for Maverick players who prefer using a fully automatic weapon as opposed to his AR-15.50 marksman rifle which only fires single shots. Unlike the weapons we discussed above, the M4 actually has a very manageable stock recoil but it’s still highly recommended for Maverick players to equip it with a vertical grip. That is because of the nature of Maverick’s gameplay which involves a lot of shooting from the lines of sight that he creates with the use of his special gadget, the Breaching Torch.

Because he’ll be shooting enemies a lot through the murder holes or lines of sight from his Breaching Torch, he won’t really be benefiting a lot from the ADS speed boost of the angled grip. When shooting through small or tight lines of sight, Maverick would want to have excellent recoil control on his weapon, and the vertical grip will give him that. And because he’ll already be having good vertical recoil control from the vertical grip on his M4, he’ll be able to afford equipping barrel attachments like the extended barrel or the suppressor which will give him other benefits than additional recoil control.

What Makes the M4 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • Even though the M4 has a very manageable stock recoil, the vertical grip fits Maverick’s gameplay more than the angled grip because he’ll be shooting enemies a lot through the lines of sight he creates from his Breaching torch
  • With the vertical grip on the M4 assault rifle, Maverick will be able to afford equipping it with barrel attachments like the extended barrel or suppressor which will give him other advantages than more recoil control
  • Since Maverick will be shooting opponents a lot through the murder holes or lines of sight he created with his Breaching Torch, it’s best for him to have great recoil control and the vertical grip will provide that
  • The vertical grip will provide him with better accuracy with the weapon especially for medium to long-range, because enemies will appear smaller from those distances, so the more control you have, the more accurate your shots will be

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 44
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 750 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 30 + 1

5. AK-12

https://youtu.be/hZAv_J87hCw?si=p2ja8yPpQ8Eu-OrI&t=272

The AK-12 is the fully automatic assault rifle that is available to Fuze and Ace. If their players want a light weapon that can be reloaded fast, has an average magazine capacity, and is fully automatic, this is the go-to weapon. Its rate of fire is already pretty fast, so it can make short work of enemies, especially at close to medium range. Its drawback, however, is its rough recoil. Its recoil is definitely not the worse out there, but it can also be quite challenging to control especially when the user is firing it in long sprays.

That’s why it’s best to attach a vertical grip to it instead of the angled grip. With the vertical grip lowering the weapon’s overall vertical recoil, even though it is quite prone to horizontal and random recoil from all directions, the user will have a much better time in stabilizing its overall weapon kick. Plus, with the vertical grip already providing the needed additional recoil control on the weapon, players with good recoil control of their own will be able to equip it with barrel attachments like the suppressor and extended barrel that provides other great benefits.

What Makes the AK-12 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The AK-12 assault rifle has a pretty fast rate of fire and its recoil can be quite rough, so for the user to really have a good grip on its recoil, its best to equip it with a vertical grip that’ll lower its overall weapon kick
  • The vertical grip on the AK-12 assault rifle will allow Fuze and Ace players with good recoil control of their own to equip the weapon with barrel attachments like the suppressor and extended barrel
  • Fuze and Ace can perform vertical plays well and that’ll involve a lot of shooting through the gaps between metal beams, and for that, it’s best to have great recoil control on the weapon
  • The vertical grip will also allow the operator, especially Ace, to be more effective at medium to long-range shooting, as Ace is more prone to it compared to Fuze, because the latter mostly deals with enemies at close range

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 40
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 850 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 30 + 1

4. AR-15.50

https://youtu.be/6qNcoU6fhOA?si=NLArOEL1-RdSqM2q&t=73

The AR-15.50, despite its name, is actually a marksman rifle. It’s the go-to weapon for Maverick players who prefer using a single-shot, heavy damage, and high destruction weapon. Its weapon kick per shot is actually not that hard to control, but it’s still best for Maverick players to equip it with a vertical grip for additional recoil control. That’s because while its stock recoil is not too strong, most players would still need at least one recoil control providing attachment on it for them to be able to use it effectively, especially for medium to long-range shooting.

It’s highly recommended for Maverick players to have that one recoil control providing attachment as the vertical grip. That’s because it’ll provide them with good vertical recoil control on the weapon while also allowing them to equip it with a suppressor. The suppressor is a very important barrel attachment for Maverick because of his role which involves him shooting opponents a lot of times through the murder holes he creates using his Breaching Torch. That's because with the suppressor, his shots won’t have a directional threat indicator and a muzzle flash. They’ll also be much more silent.

What Makes the AR-15.50 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The AR-15.50 is a marksman rifle that has a decent stock recoil, and most players will need at least one recoil control providing attachment on it, and it’s best for them if that one attachment is the vertical grip
  • The vertical grip providing good vertical recoil control on the AR-15.50 will allow Maverick to equip it with a suppressor on its barrel which provides him with stealth benefits that fits his role well
  • Since Maverick will be shooting enemies a lot of times through the murder holes he’s created, it’s best for him to have a very stable weapon as the lines of sight on those holes are usually very small
  • The vertical grip will also allow Maverick to be more effective in medium to long-range which, as a marksman rifle, the AR-15.50 excels in, despite’s Maverick’s role of having to go near the objective spot

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 67
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 450 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 10 + 1

3. OTs-03

https://youtu.be/znrQpaJ2kC4?si=J4lP8THhrRXST_bH&t=32

Like the AR-15.50 above, the OTs-03 is also a marksman rifle. It’s unique to Glaz and is the main reason why he’s so powerful. That’s because it has a thermal sight that allows Glaz to see enemies in a bright yellow hue that greatly sets them apart from all the backdrops and objects in the map. Its recoil is also quite manageable, so if the player wants to, they can equip it with an angled grip and receive a boost in their aim-down-sight speed, and if they want to still have good recoil control on it, they can attach a muzzle brake on its barrel.

However, the best attachment setup for the OTs-03 is with a vertical grip and a suppressor. The OTs-03's recoil might not be that horrible, but most players would still need at least one recoil control providing attachment for it, and it’s best for the player to make that attachment the vertical grip. That’s because with the vertical grip, the Glaz player can equip the OTs-03 with a suppressor, and the suppressor complements his gameplay really well. With a suppressor, Glaz can shoot enemies from long-range and through smoke grenades without providing them a directional threat indicator of where his shots are coming from.

What Makes the OTs-03 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The vertical grip attachment will allow Glaz to equip the non-recoil control providing suppressor to its barrel, and in most cases, it’s best for Glaz to use the suppressor as it complements his special gadget
  • While the OTs-03's weapon kick is not that strong, most users would still need at least one recoil control providing attachment, and it’s best if that’s the vertical grip so Glaz can take advantage of the suppressor
  • Because the vertical grip basically allows Glaz to use the suppressor, Glaz will be able to shoot enemies through smoke without a directional threat indicator and muzzle flash. His shots will also be silent.
  • Glaz specializes in shooting enemies at medium to long-range and for those distances, it’s always good to have great recoil control and the vertical grip will provide that

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 71
  • Mobility - 36
  • Rate of Fire - 380 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 15+1

2. T-5 SMG

https://youtu.be/TdmE3r2A-6I?si=bxFnTRrzmCqJU-oB&t=89

The T-5 SMG, available to Lesion and Oryx used to have a much steadier recoil. The recoil progression overhaul that came to Siege a few seasons ago changed all that. While the weapon’s overall weapon kick is still not bad, it’s definitely harder to control its recoil now compared to before, especially when it comes to long bursts. The good thing is its recoil pattern mostly only goes vertically and its horizontal and random recoil from all directions is not that strong. So if the player lowers its vertical recoil, the weapon will feel much more controllable, even when it comes to long sprays.

With the vertical grip on the T-5 SMG, most players will be able to control its weapon kick well, even if they equip a non-recoil control providing attachment to its barrel like the suppressor or the extended barrel. The extended barrel will make the weapon’s damage higher by 12% and greatly decrease its range damage drop-off, making it a highly effective weapon regardless of range. Meanwhile, the suppressor will remove the weapon’s directional threat indicator and muzzle flash, as well as make its gunshots more silent, which will make it harder for enemies to find the user.

What Makes the T-5 SMG Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The T-5 SMG has a pretty strong vertical recoil, so lowering it will make it much more stable for the user, especially when it’s being fired in long sprays
  • The vertical grip adding a lot of vertical recoil control to the T-5 SMG will allow the user to equip a non-recoil control providing barrel attachment so the user will have other advantages than more recoil control
  • The T-5 SMG having a vertical grip and more vertical recoil control fits Lesion’s gameplay very well as he’s mostly used for anchoring and most of time, he’s able to go into aim-down-sights before engaging enemies
  • For Oryx, the T-5 SMG with a vertical grip is great as well even for roaming, as it’ll allow him to use the suppressor which is very effective for roaming due to its stealth benefits

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 28
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 900 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 30

1. TCSG12

https://youtu.be/GMLtwRhfMbM?si=vYqA0U-NafVsG2zT&t=8

The TCSG12, available for Kaid and Goyo, can now be equipped with an angled grip that will allow the user to go into aim-down-sights stance faster than normal. However, it’s still highly recommended for most players to use the vertical grip instead. That’s because the TCSG12 has a strong weapon kick and without the additional recoil control from the vertical grip, it can be very hard to control the weapon’s recoil, especially when it’s being fired in quick succession. Though it’s not a fully automatic weapon, the TCSG12 can be fired quite quickly, and that happens a lot especially when panic sets in.

When that happens, it’s better to have the vertical grip helping you control the weapon’s recoil, because it will allow you to line up your shots better, even if you’re firing the TCSG12 fast. Another reason why it’s important to equip the vertical grip is because the TCSG12 is not compatible with any barrel attachments that can provide more recoil control like the flash hider, muzzle brake, or compensator. On top of that, Kaid and Goyo are mostly anchor operators, so most of the time, they can have their aim ready before shooting enemies, so the ADS speed boost from the angled grip is not as important for them than the vertical recoil control from the vertical grip.

What Makes the TCSG12 Great for Vertical Grip:

  • The TCSG12 shotgun’s biggest drawback is that its recoil is quite strong, but with the vertical grip attachment on the weapon, its weapon kick will be very manageable, especially if the user pace their shots well
  • The TCSG12 shotgun cannot be equipped with any barrel attachments other than the suppressor, so if the user wants to add more recoil control on the weapon, their only choice is the vertical grip
  • The operators that can use the TCSG12, Kaid and Goyo, are mostly only used for anchoring, and when anchoring, they’ll be able to go into aim-down-sights before engaging enemies most of the time
  • The TCSG12 is a slug shotgun and that means it’s capable of hitting targets at medium to long-range, and for those distances, having the best recoil control possible on the weapon is usually better than more ADS speed

Weapon Stats:

  • Damage - 63
  • Mobility - 50
  • Rate of Fire - 450 RPM
  • Magazine Size - 10 + 1
