Top 10 Pokemon Let's Go Best Pokemons

Reminiscent of Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Let’s Go brings gamers back to the Kanto Region wherein lie the 151 original Pokemon waiting for capture and battles. But if you want to be the very best, which ones do you seek out? Here is my Top 10 Best Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go!

1. DRAGONITE

Image
Body Image

Not exactly your ordinary dragon, but definitely extraodinary.

One of the rarest Pokemon in generation one, Dragonite is the strongest pokemon in generation one, being beat out only by megas or legendary pokemon.

Being the evolution of a Dragonair, Dragonite is definitely the cream of the crop.  Not only is it a hard find and an even harder capture but it is also the benchmark of the best trainers to beat Dragonite in battle against the final Elite 4-member Lance. In order to get a Dragonite, you must first capture a Dratini that will evolve into a Dragonite.

You’ll find it on Route 10, but you must learn the Sea-Skim Technique and then take a ride on Lapras until you come across one. A flying type pokemon with a strong proponent for inner focus and standing at 7ft 3in, with Dragonite in your corner you will be a forced to be reckoned with... if you can find one.

STATS:

  • TYPE – Dragon, Flying
  • MAX CP - 600
  • HP - 91
  • ATTACK - 134
  • DEFENSE - 95

2. SNORLAX

Body Image

Let's be honest, we all have a little Snorlax in all of us.

If you ever want to see a picture of a Snorlax simply look up “lazy” in the dictionary.  This sleeping giant is a normal pokemon who is great at defensive combat with his thick fat skin. With a high HP and decent attack stats, this 6ft 11in teddy bear of a pokemon is a great edition to your pokedex. But remember, to catch a sleeping Snorlax you must first wake it up with a Poke Flute or music from Pokegear.

STATS:

TYPE - Normal

MAX CP - 540

HP - 160

ATTACK - 110

DEFENSE - 65

3. EVEE

Body Image

Cute as a button, Evee is a great choice for your first pokemon.

Pikachu is by far the most famous pokemon. He’s the face of the franchise. But if there was a really close second, it’d have to be Evee. Of course, depending on which game you play; Let’s Go Pikachu or Let’s Go Evee, Evee will be your starter pokemon. With endearing puppy dog eyes and a beautiful fur, Evee is one of the more unique pokemon, with the ability to evolve into 8 different forms, this gives you a versatile pokemon that will help fill out different elements of your pokedex at different times depending on its current form.

STATS:

TYPE - Normal

MAX CP - 325

HP - 55

ATTACK - 55

DEFENSE - 50

4. GENGAR

Body Image

Look at him. Smiling because we can't see his weight. Lucky duck.

Being only one of the three ghost type pokemon in generation one, Gengar is a spectre that even the Ghostbusters would have a little hestency going into battle with. If you’re building a ghost team, Gengar is essential. But how do you get him? Well, you can catch either a Gastly or a Haunter. Either one is a stage or two away from evolving into a Gengar. You can capture a Gastly in the Pokemon Tower over in Lavendar Town after you’ve received the Silph Scope. But once you’ve captured a Gastly or a Haunter the only way to obtain a Gengar is through trade. Evolved from a Haunter when traded, Gengar sports a hypnotic purple color creating a visually appealingappearing yet poisonous veneer. Levitating at a height of 4ft. 11in., Gengar is a rare pokemon, but one you should definitely consider when going into battle.

STATS:

TYPE - Ghost, Poison

MAX CP - 500

HP - 60

ATTACK - 65

DEFENSE - 60

5. GYRADOS

Body Image

"Get ready"? More like "GET OUT OF THERE!"

A Magikarp seems like a worthless pokemon. While mean and insensitive, there is some truth to that... when it’s in that current form. But if you buy one for 500 pokedollars you may see a return that is extremely worthwhile in the form of a powerful water pokemon called Gyrados. Standing at a staggeringstagering 21 ft. 4in., Gyrados has the potential to be a fierce pokemon in battle equipped with an extensive list of moves to use. If you want to capture fully evolved, wild Gyrados, you’ll have to make your way over to Route 10 equipped with a Super Lure, your pokeballs and some berries.

STATS:

TYPE - Water, Flying

MAX CP - 640

HP - 95

ATTACK - 155

DEFENSE - 109

6. LAPRAS

Image
Body Image

A possible relative to the Loch Ness Monster. Still waiting for the test results.

Taking inspiration in design from that famous cryptid creature known as “The Loch Ness” monster, Lapras is a very friendly water type pokemon that gives rides across bodies of water just because it loves to. Not only that, but it is also extremely intelligent with the ability to understand human speech. It is a useful pokemon and a great companion. Plus, it’s a favorite pokemon of Ash Ketchum voice actor Veronica Taylor. If that doesn’t tell you something, I don’t know what will. Once you’ve made it to Saffron City, you’ll weave in and out through the Silph Building, after enticing the guards with tea. But after you complete the puzzles inside, you’ll be rewarded with a Lapras.

STATS:

TYPE - Water, Ice

MAX CP - 535

HP - 130

ATTACK - 85

DEFENSE - 80

7.SQUIRTLE

Image

Like an aquatic teddy bear, Squirtle will always have your back.

One of the coolest pokemon, especially when given some nice shades, Squirtle is a water pokemon who is one of the three starter pokemon offered in the beginning. Because of his impressive moves list, I would highly implore anyone to choose a Squirtle when starting out. His power, HP level and evolved forms have always increased my chances of becoming a champion.   But also, it’s really cute. Need I say more? If you want to find yourself a Squirtle in Let’s Go, head over to Vermilion City. There, after you manage to capture 60 unique pokemon, the guard stood right next to the Squirtle will be happy to reward you.

STATS:

TYPE - Water

MAX CP - 314

HP - 44

ATTACK - 48

DEFENSE - 65

8. SCYTHER

I really could've used this one's help when I was making art in Kindergarten.

This bipedal, insectoid creature is insane looking, in the best possible way. Though it’ll eventually evolve into a superior Scizor when traded, this scissor-handed bug is great in design and holds some sharp attacks in combat like “Wing Attack” or “X-Scissor”. Unfortunately, Scyther can only be obtained through trade not capture. But hey, if you ever need to cut some paper...

STATS:

TYPE – Bug, Flying

MAX CP - 500

HP - 70

ATTACK - 110

DEFENSE - 80

9. ARCANINE

Image
Body Image

The ultimate guard dog!

No matter what, man will always be accompanied by man’s best friend. In the Pokemon world, that role is filled in by the dog-like creature known as Arcanine. Decked with an orange pelt and jagged black stripes and with a strong attack state and a relatively great HP level, Arcanine is the perfect pokemon equivalent to man’s best friend. In Vermilion, you will find a lovely lady sitting on a bench. She’ll ask you if you can show her five Meowths. If you can then you will have gained a fluffy companion.

STATS:

TYPE - Fire

MAX CP - 555

HP - 90

ATTACK - 110

DEFENSE - 80

10. DITTO

Body Image

Dont' be fooled by it's copying nature. Don't be fooled by it's copying nature.

Ditto is great. Ditto is great. Copy and paste. Copy and paste... that’s what Ditto does. You’ll find this pokemon in Cerulean Cave after you’ve beaten the Elite 4 and become champion. But once you do this deceivingly weak-looking normal type pokemon will be a huge asset to your pokedex. With only one move, Ditto can change the tide of any battle by transforming into your opponent’s pokemon and copying their moves. Yes, it may look like jelly, but let it be known, this classic pokemon will always pack a secret punch.

STATS:

TYPE - Normal

MAX CP - 288

HP - 48

ATTACK - 48

DEFENSE - 48
