[Top 10] Dragon Ball Fighterz Best Teams

Dragon Ball Fighterz Best Teams That Are Powerful!
Updated:
03 Oct 2022

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a really unique martial arts game, and there are a lot of reasons to back it up. Aside from the fun animation that looks so similar to the anime it adapts, you can also look at iconic cutscenes midgame to satisfy the Dragon Ball community. Do we also need to tell you that this awesome video game also employs a 3v3 game?

Yep, a 3v3 fighting game always requires you to have a great sense of teamwork. However, this doesn’t mean that you need to work well with other players, but rather that you need to find the right combination of characters that can work well and complement each other. Truth be told, you can either stack up a team with meta characters or create one that consists of non-meta characters that are deadly when they’re put together.

10. Vegeta SSGSS + Vegeta (Base Form) + Super Saiyan Vegeta

The three versions of Vegeta is certainly a fun and strong team to use

Running a team that consists of the same characters might seem fun, as you can get some fun by doing that. But at the same time, you want to make sure that you’re winning, right? Therefore, what better way than to use a team of three Vegetas at the same time, which is comprised of his base version, the SSGSS form, as well as the classic super Saiyan version.

Why is This Team Great?

  • Judging by the timeline of the characters in the series, the base form of Vegeta should be one of the weakest characters in the FighterZ lineup. But his quirks and traits speak otherwise. After all, he is really hard to block and has really great skills all around.
  • Naturally, characters that are based on the same person must have some similar traits. That’s the reason why they must have a great synergy that can complement each other.
  • Although base form Vegeta is the obvious choice for the main character, the other two variants of himself can also pack a punch and defeat opponents easily. All in all, a great team to kickstart our list.

9. Android 18 + Goku (Ultra Instinct) + Android 21

Two female android and Goku make up a very good team that can't be underestimated

The Dragon Ball universe is filled with various of unique and fun characters. The game itself also encourages you to try out different characters. Here’s a hint: it doesn’t have to always be the Gokus and the Vegetas. In fact, you can also use the magnificent Android characters, a group of man-made humanoids made by Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army! A great option to consider is to use Android 18 and pair her with #21 and Goku (Ultra Instinct Mode).

Why is This Team Great?

  • Android 18 is basically a female version of base Vegeta. She packs a powerful punch and can deliver devastating and unblockable combos to your opponents. However, she does need some assistance in order to prolong said combos.
  • The Goku ultra instinct mode variant is actually a great and flexible character that can be treated differently. But for this team to work well, you must make him the main backup for Android 18. He can provide great assists as well as become the anchor for the team, which is highly welcomed.
  • Android 18 is a character who can deal a lot of damage and use pressure to pin your opponent down in the corner. If that is the type of play that you’re looking for, then you would want to consider adding Android 21 into the mix. She can help set up Android 18’s combos with assists and create new chains that will render your opponent helpless in the corner of their screen.

8. Gogeta SSJ4 + Vegito SSGSS + Goku (Base Form)

Two of the strongest fusion warriors, combined with a great support character: magnificent!

Going on at number eight on this list is a combination of one Goku and two fusion warriors that are highly powerful in this game. On paper, you wouldn’t want that base Goku form anywhere in your team. However, he is a really strong and dependable character as an assister. Plus, Vegito SSGSS will complement the ultimate character that you’ll use as the main point of the team: Gogeta SSJ4.

Why is This Team Great?

  • While Base Goku isn’t an all-powerful character to use on his own, he is a really versatile character that provides great assists to the main focus of attack on your team, which will be the Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta in this case.
  • No one can argue with the might of the Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. We really feel that he can even kill an entire team of characters on his own, given that he is played by someone who really knows him. So, that’s the reason why Gogeta should be on your team!
  • As powerful as Gogeta is, he still needs a backup that is as powerful as himself. That’s the reason why Vegito SSGSS should be present on this team. Besides, he can also provide awesome assists that can help Gogeta kick off deadly combos.
  • You shouldn’t focus much on using base Goku as the main guy, but rather interchanging that role with Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and Vegito SSGSS. As a result, you’ll get a nearly undefeated team that can even beat veterans of the game.

7. Cell + Gotenks + Android 21

Android 21 can also work with Cell and Gotenks to make up a really cool team.

Cell is one of the best and strongest enemies in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It almost makes sense for the developers to make him one of the best characters in the FighterZ game as well. But just like with other characters in this game, you need to make sure that he is complemented well. We thought that Gotenks and Android 21 would do the job!

Why is This Team Great?

  • Cell isn’t an easy character to learn. He has quite a complex auto combo that needs time for people to master. But once you do, you’ll receive an ultimate character that won’t lose to other gamers that easily. Even on his own, Cell is a really tough character!
  • Gotenks is a really great assister for Cell. Plus, he also possesses a powerful special move that can be used to chain Cell’s own special move. His assist move can also help Cell’s combo to lock your opponent to the corner.
  • We have mentioned the perks and features that Android 21 has. As a great mid-character, you can take advantage of her and use her to back Cell up whenever you’re backed to the corner.

6. Base Vegeta + Broly (DBZ Version) + Base Goku

Two base versions of Goku and Vegeta is really powerful as a team. Just add Broly into the mix.

Since a recent update to the game, the base form of Vegeta has become much stronger than before. Moreover, he even became a popular figure that is normally used as the core of a team, or a point character. However great he is, base Vegeta still needs some great backups. Hence, we recommend you try him out along with the DBZ version of Broly and base Goku.

Why is This Team Great?

  • This variant of Vegeta is a real beast of a character. You might even be happy to learn that he is also a great character for beginners, as he can deal insane damage to your opponent. Plus, he can also spam ki blasts, which makes him a great long-range fighter.
  • Despite the awesome attributes that Vegeta poses, we still need another dimension to fight difficult opponents. It’s practically the reason why we’re recommending Broly to the team. He is an all-rounder that can bring a new dimension to your fighting style and turn the tide whenever Vegeta hits a rut.
  • As great as Vegeta is, people have been complaining about his reliance on assists. Hence, a great and versatile back up character is needed, and that’s the reason why base form Goku is essential.

5. Gogeta SSJ4 + Vegito SSGSS + Bardock

Replace Base Goku with Bardock to get a stronger team combination.

Here’s another team combination that consists of both the Super Saiyan 4 version of Gogeta as well as Vegito SSGSS. But rather than using the base form of Goku, we highly encourage you to try out his father, Bardock. These three are top-tier characters that are great on their own, but will be menacing when teamed up together.

Why is This Team Great?

  • We don’t need to tell you about the magnificent pairing of Gogeta and Vegito, as we have already discussed that. After all, they are both heavy hitters that are also easy to use, therefore making them perfect for both veterans and beginners alike.
  • While Bardock is a great fighter who can also be the core character on any team, his assisting perks can make him a great asset for this particular team. Moreover, you can also use him to catch a long-ranger off guard and drag them nearer so that your main character can finish them off.
  • Aside from acting as the main fighter, Gogeta can also be utilized to charge up your meter faster, thus making it easier for you to use special or ultimate moves to finish your opponent.

4.  Vegito SSGSS, Kid Buu, Goku Black

Combine Vegito with his two nemesis to form a formidable team.

We have sidelined Vegito SSGSS as the second main character whenever there is Gogeta SSJ4 on your team. But now is the perfect time to put him in the spotlight by making him the core character. To back him up, make sure to use Kid Buu and Goku Black on your team.

Why is This Team Great?

  • Vegito SSGSS is a really formidable character that will unleash a chain of combos that will pin your opponent to the corner. But imagine that you have Kid Buu to back him up. All you get is a set of movements that can kill your enemy in a short period of time.
  • Yes, Kid Buu is that one character who you love to play with but hate to play against. Due to his small stature, opponents will find it hard to read your moves, thus making them harder to block. When you finally get them in a combo, tag Goku Black or Vegito back for an extra boost of damage.
  • We haven’t talked about Goku Black on this list yet, so now we’re going to. Just as the anime depicts him, his in-game adaptation is also menacing and scary. Plus, he can also provide great assisting special moves for the equally awesome Vegito SSGSS, who happens to be his main rival during the Future Trunks arc.

3. Hit, Gotenks, Goku (Ultra Instinct)

Hit is a great warrior, but he can really shine with a couple of great support characters.

Now, we’re going to talk about one of the most versatile and all-round teams on the list. Yes, we have a combination of a hard-hitter, a back-up player, and an all-rounder that is highly flexible. To do this, you need to select Hit, Gotenks, and Goku (Ultra Instinct Mode) as your characters.

Why is This Team Great?

  • Hit is a really hard-hitter that can create a haunting combo for your opponent. However, he sure does need some help from a couple of characters, which is why Gotenks and Goku are needed. They will definitely prolong Hit’s combos and allow you to hit them left, right, and forward for a very long time.
  • Gotenks: nothing bad can be said about this character. He is the ultimate supporting character that will pop out first things first in everybody’s mind. Plus, he can really complement Hit’s heavy hitting style.
  • Goku Ultra Instinct can be treated in various ways in this lineup. He can be the second core character if Hit goes down. However, you can also treat him as a great back-up player with damaging assist moves.

2. Android 21 (Lab Coat) + Goku Ultra Instinct + Broly (DBZ)

Three overpowered characters make a really frightening team.

Android 21 (Lab Coat) is the latest DLC character to be released in this game. She is really powerful and broken. Therefore, she doesn’t really require any great assistance to help her. But imagine if she had one! So, so scary, right?

Why is This Team Great?

  • Android 21, an overpowered character, is really unbalanced. It went to the point that most tournaments banned players from using her.
  • Now that you know how annoying Android 21 can be, imagine when she gets teamed up with Goku (Ultra Instinct). This is a great backup character that can also fend off opponents on their own. So, so frustrating for your opponent.
  • Let’s face it. The newest incarnation of Broly is awesome and cool, but he is not as effective as the original Broly in this game. A great tank character that acts as an anchor, he can provide damage to the opponent as well as assist you in chaining more combos!

1. Gogeta SSGSS, Gogeta SSJ4, Vegito SSGSS

Three meta characters will make a broken team that is very fun to use

Have you ever wondered what a great team would like if you stacked all of the great core characters together at the same time? We’re glad to tell you that it will! These three are really scary on their own, and they can finish off three characters at once. Imagine how powerful they will be when they can be subbed off by another equally awesome character.

Why is This Team Great?

  • Since his inception, Gogeta SSGSS has been a popular character amongst the community and fanbase alike. Not only do his animations look dope, but he sure does pack a punch. Plus, he can really interchange with Gogeta SSJ4 as they have similar traits.
  • All these three characters are able to fill up the meter so fast, which will benefit you in the long run. After all, their reliance on special moves will require you to spend energy!
  • It makes perfect sense that three of the most powerful characters in the game are all fusion warriors. They all have deadly combos and special moves. Therefore, when a character or two are knocked down by your enemy, you won’t have to worry too much, as each of them is capable enough to destroy a single team.
