I love all of the killers that are in this game but one of my all-time favorites is The Shape. After all, who doesn’t love Halloween and Michael Myers? I get asked frequently by various people what the best builds on him are. As the game adds updates and nerfs, this list is subject to change, and this is also just my humble opinion. ENJOY!

This list will be the top 5 Shape builds in Dead by Daylight.

5. I’m Gonna Find Ya, then I’m Gonna Kill Ya.

This build was designed to alert you of the survivors' presence early on, then destroy them.
  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis) - At the start of the Trial, all survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 7/8/9 seconds.
  • Brutal Strength (The Trapper) - Increases the Action speed of breaking pallets and Breakable Walls, and damaging Generators by 10/15/20%.
  • Agitation (The Trapper) - While carrying a Survivor you benefit from the following effects:
Increases your Carrying movement speed by 6/12/18%.
Increases your Terror Radius by 12 meters.
  • Barbeque & Chili (The Cannibal) - Every time you hook a Survivor, this perk will activate giving away the location or auras of all Survivors within the 40-meter radius of the hook. If they are close to you or hiding in a locker, this perk won’t reveal them.

4. Cat and Mouse

This build was designed to benefit from literally playing with your food. (Funny enough, 3 out of the 4 perks in this build are from The Shapes' personal arsenal.)

  • Whispers (Generic Perk) - This perk alerts you via the perk glowing when Survivors are up to 32 meters within your proximity.
  • Save The Best For Last (The Shape) - You become obsessed with one Survivor.
Each time you hit a Survivor other than your Obsession with a Basic Attack, Save the Best for Last gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 8 Tokens:
Gain a stackable 5% Cool-down reduction on successful attacks per Token, up to a maximum of 40%.
Each time you hit your Obsession with a Basic Attack, Save the Best for Last loses 4/3/2 Tokens.
When the Obsession is sacrificed or killed, you can neither gain nor lose any more Tokens.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
  • Dying Light (The Shape) - You become obsessed with one Survivor.
Each time you hook a Survivor other than your Obsession, you gain 1 Token:
For as long as the Obession is alive, all other Survivors suffer from stackable Several Percent penalties to Repairing, Healing, and Sabotaging speeds per Token, up to a maximum of Several Percent or 11 Tokens.
The Obsession is unaffected by this penalty and instead granted a permanent 33% Action Speed bonus to Unhooking and Healing other Survivors.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
  • Play With Your Food (The Shape) - You become obsessed with one Survivor.
Each time you chase your Obsession and let them escape, Play with Your Food receives 1 Token, up to a maximum of 3 Tokens:
Each Token applies a stackable 3/4/5% Haste Status Effect, up to a maximum of 9/12/15%.
Performing Basic Attacks, or Special Attacks that can damage Survivors, consumes 1 Token.
Play with Your Food has a cool-down of 10 seconds on Token-accumulation.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

3. The Thrill of The Chase

This build was designed to allow The Shape to flourish in chases no matter if the survivors slam pallets or vault windows to get away.
  • Bamboozle (The Clown) -  This perk allows you to block one window at a time after vaulting it, with up to a 15% increase in vault speed.
  • Spirit Fury (The Spirit) - After breaking up to 4 pallets (depending on the Tier of the perk), the next time you are stunned by a pallet, The Entity will instantly break the pallet.
  • Enduring (The Hillbilly) - Reduces pallet stun duration by 40/45/50%.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death (Generic Perk) - Once the Exit Gates are powered and there is at least one Dull Totem remaining in the environment, Hex: No One Escapes Death activates and lights its Totem:
Increases your Movement speed by 2/3/4%.
Survivors suffer from a permanent Exposed Status Effect.

2. I Think I Broke Your Generator

This build was designed to hinder survivors’ from doing generators efficiently.
  • Discordance (The Legion) - Any Generator within a range of 64/96/128 meters that is being repaired by 2 or more Survivors is marked by a yellow Aura.
When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise Notification on the Generator.
After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura will linger for another 4 seconds.
  • Tinkerer (The Hillbilly) - This perk will give you a Loud Noise Notification when a generator repair progress reaches 70%. Moreover, it will also give you an Undetectable Status Effect for up to 16 seconds. This is an amazing perk that can catch survivors off guard.
  • Hex Ruin (The Hag) - This perk is one of the best perks to use on a killer as it regresses Generator repair progression for all generators when they are not being worked on. The regression speed can go upwards by up to 200% of the normal speed.
  • Pop Goes The Weasel (The Clown) - After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds:
The next Generator you damage instantly loses 25% Progression.
Regular Generator Regression applies afterward and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.

1. There is No Escape

This build was designed to stop gen progression, as well as find the survivors’ as you down their friends.
  • Infectious Fright (The Plague) - Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.
  • Hex: Ruin (The Hag) - This perk is one of the best perks to use on a killer as it regresses Generator repair progression for all generators when they are not being worked on. The regression speed can go upwards by up to 200% of the normal speed.
  • Hex: Undying (The Blight) - While Hex: Undying is active, Survivors within 2 meters of any totem have their aura revealed for up to 6 seconds (depending on the Tier of the perk). When another Hex totem is cleansed,  transfers to an available dull totem around the map, losing any tokens in the process.
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) - 3 generators located furthest from you are blocked by The Entity for up to 120 seconds (depending on the Tier of the perk) at the start of the trial. Survivors cannot repair these generators for the duration.
Affected generators are highlighted by a white aura.
