If you’ve been in the Genshin Impact world for a while, you must already know that Xingqiu is an amazing support character. His kit makes him so awesome you can use him in almost every team. However, even if you know this, you may not know what is the best build you should use on him.

In this guide, you will learn the different ways to build this rich boy from Liyue. DPS, support, whatever you want. Here we go. Have fun building your Xingqiu!

3. DPS Build: Noblesse Oblige + Heart of Depth

We start with a DPS build. In this case, we need to mix two artifact sets. Two from the Noblesse Oblige set, increasing his elemental burst damage by 20%; and two from the Heart of Depth set, increasing his Hydro Damage by 15%.

These bonuses will be great together with tons of energy recharge and critical rate and damage, from his weapon and substats. They will make him able to spam his elemental skill and burst and deal lots of Hydro Damage, being then on par with some pure DPS characters.

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. DPS: It’d be strange if this DPS build didn’t deal damage, so yes, his DPS is at the top of his functions. As always, even with this build, his damage won’t sky-rocket like a DPS like Hu Tao, but at least he’ll be comparable to her.
  • 2. Enabling: With this build, he will be the character who is most often on the field, so the rest of them shouldn’t need a lot of enabling on his part. However, he will always be ready to apply Hydro to enemies to have some fun elemental reactions.
  • 3. Healing: As we aren’t building his HP a lot, his healing, which increases with his HP, isn’t high. However, something is always better than nothing, you know.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Mistsplitter (Critical Damage)
    • 4-star option: Sacrificial Sword (Energy Recharge) or Favonius Sword (Energy Recharge)
    • 3-star option: Skyrider Sword (Energy Recharge)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet: Hydro Damage Bonus
    • Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

2. Mixed DPS + Support Build: Emblem of Severed Fate

In the second place, we find a mixed build. With a this build, we can create a character that is especially versatile and can function both as DPS and as support. Xingqiu’ll lose some damage, but his Energy Recharge will be increased.

This build will allow Xingqiu to spam his skill and burst constantly, both being able to deal damage himself and being able to help his teammates with passive damage and elemental reactions. This set is particularly effective with more Energy Recharge.

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. DPS: Even as mixed support, his overall damage doesn’t diminish compared to the first DPS build. It’s more centered around his burst and Energy Recharge, but it works either way.
  • 2. Enabling: Increasing his elemental burst damage, which can be used when other characters are on the field, helps with your other DPS’s damage, making use of that burst as an enabler.
  • 3. Healing: The first build didn’t focus on his healing, and neither does this, although you can always look for some HP% substats to increase it.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Skyward Blade (Energy Recharge)
    • 4-star option: Sacrificial Sword (Energy Recharge) or Favonius Sword (Energy Recharge)
    • 3-star option: Skyrider Sword (Energy Recharge)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet:  Hydro Damage Bonus
    • Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

1. Burst Support Build: Noblesse Oblige

Finally, in the first place, we can find a support build. It’s true that Xingqiu deals a lot of damage and can be used as a main or sub DPS. However, when he really shines is when he’s used to improve other characters’ damage.

With the full Noblesse Oblige set, not only is his burst damage increased (and thus the passive damage of his teammates), but after using his burst, everyone in the team has an increase in their attack for a while!

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Enabling: With this build, Xingqiu excels at enabling. He constantly has his skill and burst activated, dealing damage and creating reactions even when not in the field. Moreover, the full Noblesse set increases everyone’s ATK.
  • 2. DPS: His DPS decreases a bit with this full support build. However, his elemental burst’s damage is so high that his overall damage doesn’t differ that much from the other builds.
  • 3. Healing: Even if he works as a support, his healing will still be a bit low because we aren’t focusing on it.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Skyward Blade (Energy Recharge)
    • 4-star option: Sacrificial Sword (Energy Recharge) or Favonius Sword (Energy Recharge)
    • 3-star option: Skyrider Sword (Energy Recharge)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet:  Hydro Damage Bonus
    • Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

Although MiHoyo created a lot of good support characters, the 4-star ones that have been in the game from the start are the most fun, most powerful, and most useful. Xingqiu is, of course, one of them, together with others like Bennet, Xiangling, or Sucrose. It doesn’t matter if you build him like a DPS or like a Burst Support; he will never disappoint you!
