You're going to be hearing this engine all game, pick something fun!

Rocket League is a game of skills and mechanics where the better player will always shine through. It takes thousands of hours and days to master just one type of mechanic out of a whole dozen that you’ll need to learn to reach the heights of the game.

Yes, the game is really competitive. But, there are other ways to show off your creativity if you don’t feel like spending the 1 or 2 hours of free time in your day practicing ceiling shots and dribbling. If you’ve played the game long enough, you would’ve definitely experienced that moment when an opponent's car makes your jaw drop in awe. Where did he get that decal? What sound is his car engine making? Where did he get that? Let’s take a look at the top 5 best engine sounds in the game that’ll impress friends and foes.

5. Animus GP

The Animus GP engine sound

Let’s start off the list with a less common choice. If you’re looking for an engine sound that’s completely unique, sounds fast and furious, and definitely ear-catching, then the Animus GP engine does it like no other!

It originates from the Animus GP car, and it’s definitely for you if you’re an F1 fan like me! It’s among the noisiest and most in-your-ear engine sounds in the game. The speed at which the engine changes gear just like an F1 vehicle is addicting. Your opponents are surely going to hear you coming from a mile away! Erm, if that’s even a good thing.

4. Fennec

The Fennec engine sound

Taking a complete U-turn from the previous choice, let’s take a look at a more subtle choice. For the players who want to enjoy the simple aesthetics of what an optimal engine should sound like while not breaking their eardrums after playing 3 hours of Rocket League, I’d recommend the Fennec engine.

It’s nothing special, to be honest, and you could argue that there are many more satisfying engine sounds. However, the Fennec is the cleanest sounding engine for the players who want a more casual experience. It sounds like the engine of a standard hatchback car that wouldn’t go over 200mph. Very pleasing on the ear.

3. BMW M240i

The BMW M240i engine sound

Was there any doubt this new release would make the list? I don’t know if I’m being biased because it’s been newly released and my ears haven’t gotten bored of hearing it yet, but oh my, this engine sounds beautiful! I don’t think I’ll be getting tired of it anytime soon!

The BMW M240i is a classic among car lovers, and it’s no secret why Rocket League chose to bring it into the game. The sound of the engine starting is enough to convince me. The revving sound is also really classy and premium. Even though the Rocket League fan base made it clear they would’ve preferred the classic E46 BMW M3 GTR, maybe someday. We can dream.

2. Breakout Type-S V2

The Breakout Type-S V2 engine sound

This one’s a less popular choice among the Rocket League community. I personally don’t understand why more players haven’t discovered yet how awesome this version of the Breakout sounds! It’s like a hidden gem in the game.

The Breakout Type-S has two different versions of its engine. This is the V2. It sounds badass, exciting, and flashy. It’ll definitely give you an earful as it goes through the gears while you’re racing around the arena. The fun thing about it is that it sounds like you’re going over 150mph all the time! Never a dull moment with this engine.

1. Lamborghini Huracan STO

The Lamborghini Huracan STO engine sound

Was it ever in doubt that this would be the top choice? I dare anyone to disagree that this isn’t the most realistic and badass sounding engine in the game! If Rocket League had marketed the idea that Lamborghini tuned the engine sound themselves, I would’ve believed it!

The Lamborghini Huracan STO engine is a beast. The starting sound of the engine alone could give it the top spot. Those deep low sounding exhaust fumes paired with the high revving engine are pure awesomeness for any car lover’s ears. It’s a masterpiece in car acoustics, and I’m glad it made its way to Rocket League.
