Genshin Impact Best Main DPS Swords

In Genshin Impact, one of the many ways to improve and strengthen your characters is to equip them with the right weapon. A character can be equipped with any weapon as long as that weapon is in the corresponding weapon type that the character can use.

This article will discuss the best weapons for Main DPS Sword Characters, which require fewer resources to be upgraded into their maximum potentials (F2P-friendly weapons for short). We will also tell you how to get those weapons.

5. Favonius Sword

Secondary Stat: Energy Recharge%

Special Effect: (Windfall) CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

This is not a generic choice for Main DPS Sword Characters. What makes Favonius Sword on this list is the Special Effect: “Windfall”. Critical Strikes have a chance to produce Elemental Particles, and there are no other roles that will be having high Crit Rates except for the Main DPS characters. So, we only put this Sword for the sole purpose that Main DPS Characters will benefit from the Crit requirement of “Windfall”. Only use this Sword if you still don’t have the other Swords that are more suited for the Main DPS Role.

Where to get: Can be obtained by Wishing

4. The Alley Flash

Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery

Special Effect: (Itinerant Hero) Increases DMG dealt by the character equipping this weapon by 12%. Taking DMG disables this effect for 5s.

This is another Sword that can and could be equipped to Main DPS Sword Characters if you have any better options. The Elemental Mastery Secondary Stat is good for characters that rely on Elemental Reactions to produce ample amounts of damage.

The Special Effect “Itinerant Hero” gives a large amount of Damage Increase for the wielder. The downside is it will be disabled for a period if the wielder takes damage from enemies. To use this weapon efficiently, you must be good at dodging and evading enemy attacks. If you suck at dodging (like me), you can always use a Shielder Character to negate the attacks of your enemies.

Where to get: Promo Weapon in an Event Wish

3. Amenoma Kageuchi

Amenoma Kageuchi

Secondary Stat: ATK%

Special Effect: (Iwakura Succession) After casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 Succession Seed. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. The Succession Seed lasts for 30s. Up to 3 Succession Seeds may exist simultaneously. After using an Elemental Burst, all Succession Seeds are consumed and after 2s, the character regenerates 6 Energy for each seed consumed.

Amenoma Kageuchi is good for Main DPS Characters that have high-damaging Elemental Burst. The Special Effect “Iwakura Succession” allows the wielder to regenerate its Energy much faster. With the effect of “Iwakura Succession”, the wielder will be able to use his/ her Elemental Burst more frequently, thus increasing the Overall DPS of the Character.

To maximize the effect of “Iwakura Succession”, this Sword should be equipped to Characters that have Elemental Skills with low cooldown. The Elemental Skill should be used in faster successions to reach and maintain the maximum stacks. One example of a Character that greatly benefits from this Sword is Kamisato Ayaka. If equipped with this Sword, Kamisato Ayaka can perform her Elemental Burst more often.

Where to get: The diagram of this Sword can be obtained by completing the World Quest “The Farmer’s Treasure”.

2. The Flute

Secondary Stat: ATK%

Special Effect: (Chord) Normal or Charged Attacks grant a Harmonic on hits. Gaining 5 Harmonics triggers the power of music and deals 100% ATK DMG to surrounding enemies. Harmonics last up to 30s, and a maximum of 1 can be gained every 0.5s.

The Flute is good for Main DPS Characters with mechanics that rely heavily on their Normal Attacks. Characters with this mechanic can easily trigger the Special Effect “Chord”. By spamming Normal Attacks, the Character can easily accumulate 5 Harmonics and produce the special AOE Damage. The Attack Percent Secondary Stat is also a useful buff for Offensive Characters.

This Sword is also useful for fighting groups of enemies as it produces continuous AOE Damage with its Special Effect.

1. Prototype Rancour

Secondary Stat: Physical Damage%

Special Effect: (Smashed Stone) On hit, Normal or Charged Attacks increase ATK and DEF by 4% for 6s. Max 4 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s.

This is the best budget-friendly Sword you can use for your Main DPS Sword Characters. What’s good about this Sword is it is craftable. You can craft this weapon in Local Blacksmiths as long as you have the Northlander Sword Billet and you have the right materials needed for forging.

Prototype Rancour is the most commonly used Sword for Main DPS Characters. The Physical Damage increase boosts the single-hit damage of the Normal Attack of the Character wielding it. The Special Effect “Smashed Stone” furthermore increases the overall Damage Output of the Character every time he/ she performs Normal or Charge Attack. It also increases the Defense of the Character. Obviously, this weapon is effective for Characters that can spam their Normal Attacks in quick succession, or for those Characters that are Normal Attack-reliant.

A good example of a Character that can benefit from the Effects of this Sword is Keqing (Physical Damage Build). Her Normal Attacks have fast animations. So, she can maximize the effect of “Smashed Stone”.

Where to get: This Sword can be crafted
