If you have then you probably already have a good idea about your favorite character, but have you considered your top ten. Yeah, I bet it’s hard to narrow them down. That’s cool because I’m here to help you do just that. With today’s list, we are gonna find out together who the top ten best characters are.

10. PuriPuri Prisoner

(PuriPuri Prisoner vs Deep Sea King)

To start us off at number ten we have, PuriPuri Prisoner. He is a powerful S-class hero ranked at seventeen. With an amazing level of strength and resilience, along with awesome techniques and transformations, he makes one formidable foe for anyone he faces. These things alone are not what makes him one of the best. He is also a hilarious character that will make you laugh as often as he impresses you.

What makes PuriPuri Prisoner great:

  • A hero who obviously has inspiration from sailor moon. With his rainbow-colored, clothes stripping transformations, and his angel wings, he looks just like a sailor guardian.
  • He showcases his amazing power many times being in a lot of the major battles. You get to see him transform in the Deep Sea King battle and watch him be the first hero to be able to hang with the monster for more than a second.
  • He has a hilarious habit of being real handsy-feely, groping, and grabbing at others. This little quirk of his landed him in prison.

9. WatchDog Man

(Watchdog man faithfully guarding his city)

Coming in at number nine we have our best boy WatchDog Man. A class-S hero that ranks in at number twelve, is the protector of Q-city. He has a lot of characteristics of a dog. He is fiercely loyal as well as territorial so he does all his patrolling in his city. He also has terrible table manners, never takes his costume off, and sleeps in a dog’s bed. He is mostly silent with an emotionless face and says very little while staying on all fours.

What makes Watchdog Man great:

  • First and foremost he has some fierce fighting moves. Fighting from a stance that helps him move faster and strike stronger. He has incredible combat abilities.
  • He is also a fan favorite because of his appearance. I mean he is literally a cute big puppy.
  • His fighting ability is so good that he actually beat Garou. He is not sadistic or mean in any way. While viciously striking down any mysterious beings, he shows mercy to human opponents. He even lets Garou escape the city.

8. Bang

(Bang staring stoically)

Coming in at number eight we have the old man martial artist, Bang. Don’t let this S-class hero’s age fool you, he’s a powerful opponent for any would-be foe. At rank three in S-class Bang is one of the most powerful heroes out there. With a mastery over martial arts that is unrivaled, he has many techniques that are not only amazing to watch but also can do crazy damage to anyone he’s fighting. The old man has a very wise and sensible mentality and is always calmly looking for a new student, as all of his were defeated.

What makes Bang great:

  • Bang is a blast to watch. Whenever he is in a fight you know he is going to destroy his opponent in a way only a true wisened master could.
  • He is one of the first characters in the entire show to recognize Saitama’s strength after seeing him punch a meteor.
  • My favorite Bang fact is that he had a strong hand in creating my favorite character Garou. He trained Garou and only kicked him out after he destroyed all of his other students.

7. Genos

(Genos ready for battle at any time)

Coming in at number seven we have Genos. An S-class hero who is ranked at fourteen. He is the second main character of the show right behind Saitama and is given the hero name, The Demon Cyborg. Genos is a cyborg, genetically engineered by the House Of Evolution. After seeing Saitama’s true power for himself he decided to be his disciple and move in with him.

What makes Genos great:

  • Genos’s arsenal is amazing to watch. Between his jets of fire and his energy blasts, his fights are always flashy.
  • The cyborg also has incredible speed able to blast past foes to attack from all angles. He is also willing to sacrifice himself by self-destructing to make sure the villain doesn’t get away.
  • Besides all that, he adds to the combat of the series and he is also hilarious. He is a perfect foil to Saitama’s “don’t care” attitude. Scenes with him and Saitama end up being some of the best in the series.

6. Zombie Man

Coming in at number six is Zombie-Man, another genetic experiment by the House Of Evolution. This S-class hero is ranked as number eight and is a seemingly impossible foe to kill. He has the ability to completely regenerate his body from any wound making him basically immortal. While his combat abilities compared to other S-class heroes are lacking he makes up for it by using his regeneration in interesting and unique ways.

What makes Zombie-Man great:

  • Zombie-Man is a highly entertaining hero to watch due to his unconventional tactics. His fights are filled with trickery and bullets. He carries a number of guns and makes use of them all.
  • His endurance is his real claim to fame. He got famous off of a battle with a monster that lasted over one-hundred and forty hours.
  • Even though he can sometimes seem sadistic with his love for the carnage after a battle, he actually has a good heart. He has a real soft spot for children which is shown through his friendship with Child Emperor.

5. Metal Bat

(Metal Bat with his sister)

Coming in at number five we have Metal Bat. An S-class hero who is ranked at number fifteen he is one of my personal favorites. Metal Bat is a hero who uses an indestructible bat to face off against foes. He has an incredible level of strength and pretty decent fighting abilities making him a top hero. Metal Bats’ personality is rather rough and he doesn’t hide how he feels from anyone.

What makes Metal Bat great:

  • Metal Bat has an amazing ability called fighting spirit. This power allows him to get significantly stronger as he takes damage. His power continues to rise until his body can no longer absorb damage.
  • His battle with the centipedes was a highlight of the series. Once his fighting spirit kicked in, he defeated junior and senior centipede without much difficulty.
  • While it is true that Metal Bat has a very brash attitude and doesn’t have any patience for people he views as annoying or weak, he does have a soft spot. He has a little sister that he will do absolutely anything for and their scenes together are very cute.

4. Mumen Rider

(Mumen Rider riding in the rain)

Coming in at number four is the fan-favorite Mumen Rider. This C-class hero is ranked number one and is fairly weak and useless in a combat scenario. He is loved for many reasons but the main attraction to him is due to his attitude. Mumen Rider is a selfless hero at heart. He always is ready to put his life on the line to save others.

What makes Mumen Rider great:

  • First and foremost Mumen Rider is the true spirit of a hero. Even without having any powers as well as only having a bike and helmet he still always rides into scenarios where people need to be saved.
  • During his scene in the deep sea invasion arc, he displayed everything that a true hero should be. As Genos lay about to die, Mumen Rider crashed his bike into him, saving the cyborg's life.
  • Even though he knew he didn’t stand a chance in hell of beating the Deep Sea King he kept at it. Over and Over again he gets knocked away just to drag his bleeding body back up for another attack. Plus no one gives a speech like Mumen Rider.

3. Tatsumaki

(Tastumaki casually displaying her power)

Coming in at number three we have the Tornado of Terror Tatsumaki. This S-class hero is ranked at number two and is one of the most terrifying members of the hero association. She is the most powerful esper known with telekinetic abilities that can’t be matched. Between her temper and her power, most people are afraid of crossing her.

What makes Tatsumaki great:

  • Tatsumaki’s personality is very funny. She is constantly berating those around her for being incompetent and not being able to fight at the same level she can.
  • Her abilities make her the trump card for the hero association. During the invasion where Boros came to earth, she was instrumental in taking down his ship. Slamming pieces of destroyed buildings into it over and over again.
  • Her scenes with Saitama are amazing for their humor. He is always picking on her and calling her a child even causing her to drink an intense amount due to hurting her pride.

2. One Punch Man

Image

(Saitama’s Serious Punch)

Coming in at number two we have Saitama. With him, the ranking doesn’t matter as he is the most powerful person in the whole show. He is recognized by the hero association as caped baldy and they believe him to be a low-class hero. Very few people know his true power. He has no care in him for things like the hero association. He only wants to get his rent paid and find an opponent who can stand more than one of his punches.

What makes Saitama great:

  • Saitama is great for so many reasons. One being his amazing level of power which allows him to destroy most beings in one punch. Very few can take more than one of his normal punches.
  • On the few occasions where you get to see his moves beyond him punching one time, it's really exciting. Seeing him pull out his serious series of moves is crazy. His battle with Boros is a great representation of his true power.
  • His popularity is not just about power but also about his hilarious nature. Saitama is always more worried about paying his rent or making it to a Saturday sale than he is about fighting monsters. One of Saitama’s funniest things is when he stops monsters from monologing by telling them to shut-up.

1. Garou

Image
Body Image

(Garou still fighting strong)

Coming in at number one we have Garou. With this entry, there is a bit of a change. He is not a hero but rather a villain. Garou is a complex villain who steals the show every time he is in a scene. He was a child who grew up connecting more with the monsters of stories than the villains. As such he became obsessed with becoming a monster. Even though he is a villain, he is one of the protagonists of the show, ever pushing the story forward.

What makes Garou great:

  • Garou is the only villain in the show that seems like a main focus. He has whole episodes dedicated to him and has been involved in many amazing battles. Being trained by Bang he was his star pupil, so he is a top-notch martial artist.
  • Garou has shown honor in many situations by always sticking to whatever his code is. He even protected a child from a hero’s bullet spray.
  • Garou’s journey is great to watch. He goes from battle to battle facing off against the strongest heroes. Whether he wins or loses he always comes back stronger and ready for more.
