[Top Ten] Fairy Tail Best Fights

10. Juvia vs. Meredy

https://youtu.be/iP3isdBZ9PQ

This intense Fairy Tail battle is part of the Tenrou Island arc. Tenrou Island is a sacred island only Fairy Tail members are meant to have knowledge of, as it’s a place for the wizards of Fairy Tail to complete their S Class Trials. However, they are interrupted when the dark guild, Grimoire Heart, and their Seven Kin of Purgatory show up.

After Erza subsequently beats up Yomazu, a member of the Seven Kin, she and Juvia set out to find the others. However, they run into another of the Seven Kin, Meredy. Meredy has a ranking system in which all Fairy Tail members should be destroyed, Juvia being number thirteen and Erza being number four. Meredy strikes Juvia first, wanting to get her useless death over with. It seems like Juvia is defeated, lying still in the water, until Erza questions Meredy about her ranking system, Meredy revealing that her number one target is Gray Fullbuster, Juvia’s beloved.

Gray is to be killed because of what he had done to Ultear’s mother, Ur, but Juvia isn’t having it. Juvia is given new strength, and attacks Meredy with zero mercy, giving Erza the chance to find a different opponent. Even though Meredy binded Juvia and Gray with a Sensory Link, as well as herself, Juvia still comes out the victor due to her overwhelming love.

Why It's Awesome

  • At the start of the S Class Trials, Juvia was made to go up against Erza to earn her S Class rank. During that battle, which Juvia lost with Lisanna, Erza said she was disappointed in Juvia’s fighting skills, believing and knowing that she was stronger. However, during the fight with Meredy, Erza is actually frightened and impressed by Juvia’s sudden strength. Juvia’s intensity in battle is equal to the intensity of her emotions, and she has finally proved her most extreme worth in battle since the Phantom Lord arc.
  • This battle is proof that the Fairy Tail is very intricate and deep, and that the anime isn’t very surface level. Each character in this battle is connected somehow. Gray was trained and raised by Ur after his village was destroyed by a demon. Gray wanted to prove he was stronger than Ur, and to have his revenge, causing him to stupidly look for the demon for a fight. Ur saved him at the cost of her own life. But Ultear, Ur’s daughter, was left without a mother and left to fend for herself. Ur later found Meredy as a child, causing Meredy to care for her so deeply to the point she would kill to protect her. This is why Meredy wants to kill Gray, and of course Juvia, with her love for Gray, is connected as well. This battle is an example of how intricate and interesting the Fairy Tail world truly is.
  • For Gruvia (Gray x Juvia) shippers, this battle is a huge moment in the progression of their relationship. Meredy bound Juvia and Gray together with a Sensory Link so that they would both experience the pain that Meredy caused Juvia whenever she attacked her. A Sensory Link can only be created between two wizards if they both have strong feelings for each other, meaning that Gray at least has some feelings for Juvia. For Gruvia shippers, including myself, this is a huge step in their relationship.

9. Erza Scarlet vs. Sho and Ikaruga

https://youtu.be/_jDRgF6Wid8

This battle takes place during the Tower Of Heaven arc, in which Jellal kidnaps Erza in the beginning so that he can sacrifice her to finish the tower abandoned all those years ago. The other Fairy Tail members are also here, the wizards split up into groups that are fighting Jellal’s subordinates. Lucy's group, composed of her, Juvia, Gray, Erza, Simon and Shô, walks around the tower looking for Natsu when mouths suddenly appear on the walls.

Jellal says that all of the “pieces” have been put in place, and that now it’s time to play the game. Jellal then adds three other allies of his to the game, allies Erza and the others must defeat in order to reach him. Suddenly, Sho traps Erza in one of his cards, running after Jellal so that he could kill him for betraying them. He does let her out, but only when Ikaruga appears.

Ikaruga cuts them all away. She says that there is nothing her sword can't cut and then slashes Shô's chest, leaving him gravely injured.Ikaruga's sword is not normal; Ikaruga waves her sword at the card and Erza blocks her attacks with her own sword. Though surprised that her attacks can reach an entirely different dimension, Ikaruga fights harder than ever before. But no matter what armor Erza requips into, she can’t seem to gain the upper hand.

Ikaruga says that no matter which armor Erza chooses, she will always defeat her. Erza finally realizes that she is not strong, and remembers all the troubles she had in the past, and what little the armor did for her outside of blocking pain and love from others. With this thought, she requips into her Clear Heart armor, forgoing all defense in favor of victory against Ikaruga.

Why It's Awesome

  • If you’re a big fan of Erza Scarlet and her character arc throughout the series, this battle is definitely for you. Her victory against Ikaruga is her way of moving on from certain traumas, and not hiding her emotions behind her armors anymore. Now that Erza realizes this, she can defeat Jellal with all the strength her character is known for.
  • Really like to see various armors you might not have seen before? You’re in luck, because this fight is for you. Throughout the fight, Erza changes into multiple armors to defeat Ikaruga. These armors include her Heart Kruez armor, her Heaven's Wheel armor, her Flame Empress armor, and her Purgatory armor. Heaven's Wheel is a beautiful armor to watch, and her Purgatory armor is supposedly the most powerful armor she has. Definitely check this fight out if you want to see them in action
  • Moreover, if you want to know more about Erza’s fighting style and how she has grown since the earlier arcs, this is a great battle for you. It’s also an awesome demonstration of Erza’s willingness to go above and beyond to protect a friend, these friends being her Fairy Tail guild members, and even the friends she once had in childhood.

8. Lucy vs. Angel

https://youtu.be/vXvZFbIJ4As

This battle takes place during the Oración Seis arc, in which Fairy Tail had already formed an alliance with three other guilds to defeat one part of the Balam Alliance: the dark guild Oración Seis. Lucy is a Celestial mage, as is Angel, so this made for quite the interesting setup.

At the beginning, Natsu found Gray floating unconscious in the river while searching for him, and when Gray helps Natsu onto the raft, he’s out of commission with his motion sickness. But just after he does that, Gray tries to kill him, only to be stopped by Sagittarius just in time. When Gray starts making suspicious comments, Lucy questions what exactly he’s going on about, and suddenly Gray transforms into Lucy.

It turns out the fake Gray and Lucy were actually Gemini, a Celestial spirit that was under control by Angel, Oración Seis’ resident Celestial Wizard. No one else around her can fight, so Lucy decides to take Angel on herself. Angel tells Lucy that she wants her keys for herself and in response, Lucy summons Aquarius and orders her to attack Angel; Angel sends Gemini back to the Spirit World, and states that even if she is defeated, she doesn't care. Aquarius gives a quick reply and begins to attack her with her Water Magic, but Angel summons Scorpio, who just happens to be Aquarius' boyfriend, causing Aquarius to stop fighting and leave with him.

After they're gone , Angel shoves Lucy into the river, saying that a Celestial Spirit Mage who doesn't know anything about her Spirits has no chance of defeating her. Lucy stands up and summons Loke, her last hope. However, Angel has control over Aries’ key, and Aries and Loke care too much about each other to fight. They disappear.

Lucy tries to convince Angel that what they’re doing isn’t right, and this leads Gemini to leave Angel since Lucy was more appreciative of her spirits. After a few more struggles, Angel is defeated.

Why It’s Awesome

  • If you’re looking for a show of Lucy’s true strength, this is a perfect fight. Lucy isn’t necessarily the strongest wizard out of Team Natsu, and if she’s your favorite wizard, it’s nice to see her growth in power. After all, Angel was a powerful wizard, and Lucy did defeat her with flying colors.
  • If you’re curious about the relationships between Celestial Spirits, this is a perfect battle to see them. It shows that Celestial Spirits can love each other, and it also shows, for the first time, that Celestial Spirits can refuse to fight. Although not without consequences, they can still refuse to help their wizards in a given situation if they don’t feel it is right. Like Gemini, for example.
  • And if you’re curious about the relationships between Celestial Spirits and their wizards, this is a perfect opportunity to see it. So far, there hasn’t been much serious interactions between Lucy and her spirits, excluding the Loke arc. This really shows how special Lucy’s spirits are to her, and how the spirits appreciate that in turn. It’s about time this was explored.
7. Natsu and Lucy vs. Jacob Lessio

https://youtu.be/UAxCtWP38G4

This battle takes place in the seventeenth and final Fairy Tail arc, the Alvarez Empire arc. Makarov disbanded Fairy Tail a year ago, a mysterious mage named Mest Gryder bringing them back together. Erza is now the Seventh Guild Master of Fairy Tail when the Alvarez Empire from Alakitasia threatens war on Ishgar for Fairy Tail’s secret artifact, the Lumen Histoire.

As well, Zeref, the Black Wizard, is behind this operation with the Spriggan Twelve. Jacob Lessio is one of the twelve, and he has the same mission the other members do; find the artifact and destroy Fairy Heart. When Jacob gets to Fairy Tail, he traps all of the members into a spacial pocket where they face death at any moment, giving Mavis the choice between saving the guild or giving up the location of the Lumen Historie and Fairy Heart.

Lucky for everyone, while Lucy, Natsu, and Happy were in the guild hall with the others, Lucy’s clock spirit Horologium saved them. Now they have a fighting chance, although it’s anything but easy. Jacob has Stealth Magic, meaning that he can hide and attack from anywhere without being seen. However, Lucy’s quick thinking and Celestial spirits have the day, along with Natsu’s Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. While the war is far from over, the battle was won thanks to Lucy and Natsu.

Why It's Awesome

  • If you’re interested in another Nalu (Natsu x Lucy) fight, check this one out. Their battle with Jacob is another example of their chemistry and how in tune they are with each other’s emotions and reactions. Before the fight even started, Lucy was sitting at Natsu’s bedside with Happy, praying his wounds would heal in time for them to fight soon. If that’s not a powerful Nalu moment, then I don’t know what is.
  • Next, for those of you have been tracking Lucy’s progress over the arcs, you’ll definitely be pleased with this fight. Lucy has grown so much over the years, and has become a powerful Celestial Mage. Perhaps she did more work than Natsu during this fight. In the end, it was Gemini that ended up defeating Jacob to the point where Natsu could finish him off. As an added note, if you love Lucy’s Star Dresses, this battle is a perfect opportunity to see at least three of them (Taurus, Leo, and Gemini).
  • Finally, if you’re looking for some humor, you’re in luck. Alvarez is a very angst heavy arc, and happy moments are incredibly rare. But it wouldn’t be a Nalu victory if some humor wasn’t involved. When Jacob removed Lucy’s clothes to take down Natsu, only to find Natsu had zero reaction to that move, you can’t help but laugh to yourself.

4. Gajeel vs. Bloodman

https://youtu.be/3u50wBYoyyQ

Here we have another battle from the seventeenth and final arc of Fairy Tail, the Alvarez Empire Arc. Levy and Gajeel are traveling up the mountain when she admits to him that she’s terrified of what’s ahead. Gajeel then surrounds her in iron clubs, promising that they’ll be safe at the guildhall soon. Once Gajeel, Levy, Elfman, and Mirajane see the massive Alvarez army, Mirajane wonders about morale, but Elfman assures her the guild’s should already be there.

After Gajeel’s group fights mercilessly against foot soldiers, Irene Belserion sends out one of her Spriggan Twelve to take care of them, Gajeel specifically. His name is Bloodman. According to Bloodman, touching his skin is like touching death itself; you may as well have no chance. The battle is brutal, Gajeel not giving up, and Bloodman finally tells him that his own body is made of Magical Barrier Particles, meaning everyone that breathes him in will die.

Gajeel won’t be affected since his lungs are made of iron, but that didn’t make the fight any less difficult for him. Even when Levy joins the fight, they still struggle to get by. Eventually, after releasing his ultimate power, Gajeel prepares to give Bloodman a mortal injury; Bloodman will definitely die. However, the Spriggan Shield claims that he will not die without a price. Gajeel would have to spend all of eternity with him, meaning that Gajeel would have to commit a double suicide.

Levy tries to stop him and to help out, but when Gajeel sees her coughing up blood, he knows he can’t let her do this. He chains her to a rock to keep her from chasing him, and while she does escape, Gajeel instructs Pantherlily to hold Levy. Gajeel then disappears, but not without telling Levy he loves her

Why It’s Awesome

  • There’s nothing like a Fairy Tail couple fighting side by side, especially if there happens to be a loving confession at the end. While not as emotional as the Gray x Juvia, it’s still just as impactful when any character sacrifices themselves for one they love. And the fact that the battle happened in the Alvarez arc makes it even more intense, meaning that this is one for the ages.
  • If you’ve been following Gajeel’s redemption arc and Levy’s road to becoming a stronger wizard, this battle is the perfect example of both of those things. Gajeel would never have admitted to Levy that he loved her when we first met him. And now Levy can write scripts and enchantments with her feet, explaining how she escaped from Gajeel’s irons. Many characters showed growth throughout the show, and Gajeel and Levy passed with flying colors in this scene.
  • Because of Gajeel’s strength and power in general, paired with his love for Levy, he is actually able to come back from this fight. He’s beyond exhausted and injured, but definitely alive. Any battle is absolutely epic if a character survives a near death experience, especially if others already thought they were dead. That’s a major aspect of this particular battle that makes it so awesome.
5. Ultear Uses The Third Origin Release

https://youtu.be/yFgNme9hB3E

Like the battle above, this battle takes place during the Alvarez Empire arc, and is another battle with one of the Spriggan Twelve, this member being Dimaria.

The second day, Wendy Marvell and Chelia Blendy face off against Dimaria. But just before the battle starts, Dimaria stops time, saying she is the only person able to act out of anyone in the world. Her Age Seal gives her the power to stop time completely, and nearly kills Wendy until Wendy dodges the attack with Chelia, the two wizards being able to move in Dimaria’s world due to Ultear’s Arc Of Time Magic.

Dimaria resorts to destroying her armor and letting herself be possessed by the god Chronos through the use of God Soul. When Dimaria moves to attack Wendy, Carla blocks the attack just in time to save Wendy’s life, at the cost of her own. Everyone believed her to be dead, but Ultear says that Carla is still living because the power used to keep her active was taken away. As Chelia and Wendy look at Dimaria, they come to the realization they have zero chance of victory.

But Ultear reveals the existence of a spell called the Third Origin. The spell grants a wizard the power they have possessed over their entire lifetime to be released, but at the cost of losing their magic ability for the rest of their lives. Wendy and Chelia argue over who Ultear should use the spell on, and while Wendy thinks she’s using it herself, Ultear spent that precious time she bought them to use the Third Origin spell on Chelia instead. Both Chelia and Ultear knew that Fairy Tail still had a full war to fight, and that they would need Wendy and her Sky Magic. Adding to that, Chelia is a God Slayer, her magic more useful against a wizard possessed by a god.

Chelia defeats Dimaria, with the help of Wendy’s enchantments, at the cost of her magic and the cost of Ultear’s young body. As time flows again, Wendy successfully heals Carla’s wounds, crying over the loss of Chelia’s magic. Chelia tells her not to worry, that she is okay with this, and in the distance, a much older Ultear is happy with the determination of the young girls she helped.

Why It's Awesome

  • If you’re fans of the Wendy x Chelia ship, this is a perfect opportunity for you to embrace the emotions. Chelia didn’t only give up her magic for the sake of Ishgar, she gave it up for the sake of Wendy, too. And nearly all of her memories she had as she was using her Third Origin were of Wendy, showing that she loves Wendy more than anyone else.
  • If you’ve been following Ultear’s story arc and are enjoying her redemption, this is the perfect moment for you. Ultear sacrificed her youth and her powers to save Ishgar and Fairy Tail. She’s come such a long way from wanting to destroy worlds. She’s become a true Fairy Tail member.
  • If you’ve been searching for a fight between a god, a God Slayer, and a Dragon Slayer, here it is. Keep in mind that this is literally the only fight in the entire series where a battle like this exists. And who hasn’t enjoyed a few underdog victories?
4. Erza vs. 100 Monsters

https://youtu.be/KIBu8ibHR0o

This battle takes place during the Grand Magic Games arc and is a part of the Grand Magic Games competition. Fairy Tail has returned from being trapped on Tenrou Island to find that their guild has earned the name “worst guild in Fiore.” In order to regain their title, Fairy Tail enters the Grand Magic Games, a competition of guilds that was created while their main members were away. However, the competition is fierce, and Fairy Tail faces strategies and battles they’ve never even seen.

But Erza is on the case. Today, the guilds are supposed to face Pandemonium, a castle-like building filled with one hundred dangerous monsters. Each member from each guild chooses a number of monsters to fight, and the number defeated is added to their score. Fairy Tail Team A goes first, but Erza is about to change the game for everyone. She chooses to fight all one hundred monsters.

In a noble effort to restore her guild’s former glory, she defeats all one hundred monsters by using several of her armors at once, combining their strengths and effectiveness. Erza proudly defeats them all, not giving any of the other guilds a chance to step foot into Pandemonium. She gives hope to all of Fairy Tail that day, and raises their score by thousands of miles, already putting what was the number one guild back on the map.

Why Its Awesome

  • If you’re looking for another awesome Erza moment, this is one of the best. Only Erza could take on one hundred monsters to defend her guild’s honor and still succeed. No other guild stood a chance against her, and seeing Erza being a powerful, strong woman being the cause of that is an even better reason to enjoy this scene.
  • If you love seeing Erza’s multiple armors in action, this is the perfect opportunity to glimpse them at their strongest. Erza utilizes them all at once in order to create a more powerful effect against the monsters depending on their strengths and weaknesses. Only Erza would have an idea such as that.
  • And if you’ve been interested in watching Fairy Tail’s comeback since they arrived home from Tenrou, this is an amazing scene to watch. Erza defeating one hundred monsters and taking all of the points for Fairy Tail Team A in the Grand Magic Games is perfect for this. Her entire plan was based on getting Fairy Tail back on the map, and she ultimately succeeded.

3. Jellal vs. Acnologia

https://youtu.be/UiZ1NadSQf0

In the Alvarez arc, things are always on the brink of ultimate disaster At this point, Irene Belserion, Erza’s mother and the Mother of Dragons, is dead. She couldn’t bring herself to kill Erza, sacrificing herself for her daughter instead. Acnologia, in his human form, killed her, and is deliberately destroying her dead body in front of Erza and Wendy. Acnologia then turns to attack Wendy and Erza, neither of them being able to move.

Suddenly, Jellal appears from nowhere and forms a shield around them, blocking Acnologia’s attack. Jellal starts to use his Heavenly Body Magic on the Black Dragon, hoping to do some damage to him. Unfortunately, Jellal’s hits only serve as a small inconvenience to Acnologia, barely leaving a scratch. In fact, Acnologia begins to eat Jellal’s magic as a normal Dragon Slayer would eat their element, claiming that he has no one element and cannot be defeated. For now, the fight is at a standstill.

Later, while the others are flying with Blue Pegasus on their airship, Christina, Acnologia shows up again, and is ready to destroy the airship with everyone on it. Seeing an opportunity to protect the others, especially Erza, Jellal uses himself as a distraction to give Acnologia something to do other than destroy Christina and everyone on the airship.

Jellal takes to the sky, using his Heavenly Body Magic as a catalyst for transportation. He tries to force Aconologia into a space-time hole, but it doesn’t work, as Jellal is too slow and the hole is too small. Fortunately, Acnologia is significantly dazed, distracted, and injured by Jellal’s barrage of magic, adding that to the arm Igneel tore off in a completely different fight. While there was no technical winner, this fight will always be one of Fairy Tail’s best battles.

Why It's Awesome

  • Jellal may have done this for Ishgar, but he mostly did it for Erza. Erza was getting ready to be attacked by Aconologia when he jumped in to save her. Anyone who’s a Jerza fan, Jellal x Erza, will appreciate this scene. Jellal is angry that Acnologia nearly killed the woman he loves, and he isn’t about to hold back this time. This scene is on a lot of top ten Jerza lists all over the internet.
  • Anyone who enjoys seeing Jellal using his Heavenly Body Magic, or looking at Jellal in general should definitely check out this moment. Jellal doesn’t use his Heavenly Body Magic much in the show, at least in a heroic manner, and this is one of those times. He also rarely uses it in this caliber, especially against the Dark Dragon Acnologia. So far, he’s been one of the only wizards on the planet to take on Acnologia head on, and that’s a victory in itself.
  • Lastly, for those who love Jellal’s redemption arc, which has spanned the entire series, should definitely watch this scene. This is one of the biggest sacrifices he’s ever made and one of the hardest battles he’s ever participated in. Seeing your favorite blue haired wizard redeem himself in one of the most amazing fights is something to behold.

2. Gray and Juvia vs. Invel, the Winter General

https://youtu.be/qCE6nHU4WUU

This is another battle that serves as a huge turning point for Fairy Tail, as well as Gray and Juvia. We’re towards the end of the Alvarez Empire arc, finally. Gray’s group is tearing through a field of enemy soldiers, taking them out one by one or even multiple at a time. But when Natsu tries to use his Fire Dragon Roar, it freezes in midair. Natsu accuses Gray of messing around, but why would he do that to someone on his side?

Suddenly, the temperature drops below freezing and Gray’s team are turning to icicles where they stand, quite literally in just a moment. Natsu tries to use his spell again, but suddenly, the entire battlefield freezes, as does everyone there except for Gray. Invel Jura, the Winter General, arrives and proudly takes responsibility for the magic used before them. Invel is surprised that Gray withstood the cold, but that doesn’t stop him from attacking.

But as Gray gets ready to attack, he sees that Invel’s ice magic is spreading up his body and that he feels genuinely cold for the first time since he was young and training under Ur. Invel tells him it’s because he doesn’t just use puny Ice Maker Magic, he creates winter entirely. Despite using the most powerful spells in his wheelhouse, Invel shatters both of them with ease, to Gray’s horror. The Ice mage has no choice but to use his Ice Devil Slayer Magic, which surprises Invel. However, the magic absorbs a lot of Gray’s energy and good soul. Invel sees this and chooses to take advantage of it.

Out of nowhere Natsu’s fire manages to melt the ice. But when it seems like they have the upper hand, Brandish, in her giantess form, takes Natsu and Lucy from the battlefield. Now Juvia and Gray are left to fight beside each other, but sadly that won’t come to pass. Invel binds them both together with his Ice Lock Magic, using mind control and driving them to kill each other. Only when one kills the other will the spell go away. This is Invel’s attempt to have Gray’s inner darkness brought out so they can put Gray on the side of Zeref and the Spriggan Twelve, as he knew that Gray would beat Juvia in battle.

But Juvia loves Gray, as we’ve seen over the series, and refused to hurt him. She uses what little control she has to commit suicide so that Gray would live. Little did she know, Gray had the same idea. They fall to the ground, supposedly dead. Invel doesn’t understand their sacrifices, but leaves all the same. However, Juvia uses her newly learned Water-Make Blood spell, giving up the last of her strength to help him survive. The anger and sorrow over her death causes Gray to find Invel and show no mercy, defeating one of the only Spriggan Twelve left in just a few moves.

Of course, Juvia survives, and Gray is filled with love and relief when he sees her. But it just goes to show what could happen with Gray’s emotions had Juvia not made it.

Why It's Awesome

  • Gray and Juvia have fought many battles over the series, but this has to be one of the most intense ones. They both sacrificed their lives for one another, and both nearly died. Juvia was seen as annoying or overbearing by many fans, but no one could deny her growth as a character, strength, or good heart when she ultimately sacrificed her life for Gray.
  • If you want Gray becoming victorious with his Demon Slayer Magic while still maintaining his virtue, this is the perfect opportunity. He rarely uses it after that, as it messes with his soul and heart. It’s also nice to see Invel get exactly what he deserves, as he was one of the last of the Spriggan Twelve to be defeated.
  • And finally, it’s awesome to see Gray express his emotions for another human in a slightly more romantic way. His flashbacks of Juvia and the way he realizes that she means so much to him is most likely the most heartbreaking, loving, and emotional scenes of the fight.

Top ten Fairy Tail Moments: Erza vs. Azuma

https://youtu.be/kQtJZyLXeiU

The top moment on our list is from the Tenrou Island arc. As was mentioned before, select Fairy Tail wizards come to Tenrou Island to participate in their S Class Trials, hoping to become S Class Wizards. Only members of Fairy Tail have access to the island and know of its location, but Grimoire Heart and the Seven Kin have invaded it to attack Fairy Tail.

But the Tenrou Tree has been destroyed, and the protection it gave to all Fairy Tail wizards is gone. The wizards of Fairy Tail have little to no Magic Power, and are in severe danger of being defeated by Grimoire Heart for good. Fortunately, one Fairy Tail Wizard still remains; Erza Scarlet, one of the most powerful Requip mages in Ishgar. Azuma, has control over the entire island with his Arc Of Trees Magic, leaving Erza with her magic so that she could have the chance to defeat him in battle. He had every opportunity to take her out, but found it more entertaining to mess around.

Erza chose to make a deal with Azuma; if she won the battle, Azuma would give the entire guild their powers back. If she didn’t, Fairy Tail was utterly doomed to destruction. The battle was one of Erza’s hardest, and psychic words from Jellal and Erza’s realization that it was her friends protecting her, not the other way around, for her to secure her victory. Azuma was ultimately beaten, and became part of the island, giving each Fairy Tail Wizard their magic back.

Erza helped Fairy Tail regain their powers and defeat Grimoire Heart, meaning that every success and love in the Fairy Tail guild since is a result of her courage and loyalty.

Why It's Awesome

  • Do you wish to see the bonds between all Fairy Tail wizards and how they save the lives of others? Then this is a great scene for you, especially since it’s action packed. Only through her bond with the rest of the guild did Erza defeat Azuma, and only through that bond did Fairy Tail gain their magic power back. Also, the famous Fairy Tail theme played, and if that doesn’t make your eyes water, you must be a complete stoic.
  • Another incredible battle where Erza applies her armor to win a huge fight. She uses various armors in order to defeat Azuma, just like when she faces one hundred monsters. If anything, this battle is where she learned that skill from, as the Tenrou arc comes before the Grand Magic Games arc. It’s an amazing battle to watch, and is number one on the list for a reason.
  • Without Erza, Fairy Tail would never have defeated Grimoire Heart and the Seven Kin. Fairy Tail would never have participated in the Grand Magic Games, and Zeref would never have been defeated in the Alvarez arc. Many characters would never have fallen in love or seen the importance of their family, and many characters would never have met at all. Once again, Erza is responsible for saving the entirety of Fairy Tail, making this battle number one in Fairy Tail history.
