[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Thorn Loadouts That Are Excellent

Top 5 Best Thorn Loadouts in R6 Siege
Updated:
18 Dec 2023

Thorn is one of the best when it comes to anchoring the objective area. That’s mainly because of her special gadget, the Razorbloom Shell, and she has three of them. Each Razorbloom Shell starts an explosion countdown when enemies get near them, and once that countdown starts, they will emit a distinct sound that is usually enough to warn the defenders inside the objective spot, not to mention the explosion itself will be pretty loud.

On top of that, Thorn is blessed with weapons that have heavy firepower and utilities that augment her defensive capabilities. And in this article, we’re going to discuss the loadout setups that’ll make them even more effective.

5. UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Deployable Shield

This is the best loadout setup for Thorn players who want the best recoil control possible on their UZK50GI. That’s especially because of the recent buff on the compensator barrel attachment making its ability to lower a weapon’s horizontal and random recoil from all directions much greater. And in this loadout setup, the player will also have the vertical grip on Thorn’s UZK50GI which will greatly lower its vertical recoil. So with this setup, the player will have a great balance between horizontal and vertical recoil control.

As for the secondary weapon, Thorn is blessed with the C75 Auto machine pistol which is among the best machine pistols in the game. That’s because it has a very manageable recoil and since its only choice for its barrel attachment is a suppressor, it’s kind of like it has an integrated one. The deployable shield on the other hand for Thorn’s secondary gadget is a great partner for her Razorbloom Shell, because she can deploy one of them behind a deployable shield, and when an opponent vaults over that deployable shield, he or she will be susceptible to Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell.

Excels in:

  • Having the best recoil control on Thorn’s UZK50GI with the compensator lowering its horizontal recoil and the vertical grip lowering its vertical recoil
  • Providing great accuracy to Thorn with the use of the Red Dot A 1.0x sight on her UZK50GI which has a simple center dot reticle
  • Having another fully automatic gun for her secondary weapon in the C75 Aut which also has a very manageable recoil
  • The suppressor on the C75 Auto allows Thorn to shoot enemies or their gadgets with much less risk of giving away her position
  • Providing extra cover for the whole defending team with the use of the deployable shield which is also a great partner to Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Deployable Shield

4. M870 with Reflex B and Laser + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Deployable Shield

The M870 shotgun is one of the most popular pump action shotguns in the game and perhaps the most powerful one. Its effective range is quite long, especially when the user is aiming-down-sights on it, and speaking of aiming-down-sights, the best 1.0x sight for it would be the Reflex B. That’s because its thin frame frees up a lot of screen space and allows the user to see his front and surroundings better, and that’s why it’s great for shotguns. The laser on the other hand will tighten the M870’s hip fire spread, making it a lot more effective at close range.

That’s because with a tight hip fire from the laser, Thorn won’t even have to go into aim-down-sights stance at close range with the M870 shotgun to have most of its pellets hit the enemy’s body. And when most of the M870’s pellets hit an opponent’s body, most of the time, they’d either get killed or be put into a down-but-not-out state. As for the C75 Auto machine pistol, it’s a great partner for the M870 shotgun because it can frag opponents at longer distances that pump action shotguns can’t reach.

Excels in:

  • Having the superiority at close quarters combat due to the pellet spread of M870 shotgun and its heavy damage per pellet
  • Having a tight hip fire spread on the M870 shotgun due to the laser attachment making it much more effective at close range
  • Providing Thorn with a clear view of her surroundings when aiming-down-sights on her M870 shotgun due to the Reflex B’s frame which doesn’t take up a lot of screen space
  • Having a secondary weapon that is fully automatic and has a very fast rate of fire in the C75 Auto which also has a very manageable recoil
  • The suppressor on the C75 Auto allowing Thorn to shoot attacker gadgets with much less chance of giving away her position
  • Providing extra cover with the use of the deployable shield secondary gadget which is also a great partner for Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - M870 with Reflex B and Laser
  • Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Deployable Shield

3. UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Barbed Wire

Image

This loadout setup provides a great balance between recoil control and speed on the UZK50GI. The flash hider on its barrel attachment will provide a strong vertical recoil control on the weapon and as its name implies, it will also hide its muzzle flash which could make it a bit harder for enemies to immediately see where Thorn is shooting them from. This is a very solid barrel attachment for the UZK50GI since its recoil pattern mostly only goes vertically. The removal of its muzzle flash can also prevent the user’s view from being blurry while shooting.

As for the weapon’s grip, the angled grip will allow Thorn to go into aim-down-sights stance faster than normal, meaning that she will be able to respond to her enemies quicker. That’s a great advantage to have in Siege where you’ll never know when an opponent might appear in your line of sight. As for the barbed wires as Thorn’s generic gadget, they’re also great partners for Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell because they greatly slow down enemies that walk over them, and if an opponent tries to walk over a barbed wire while a Razorbloom Shell is nearby, there’s a high chance that that opponent will get caught in its blast radius.

Excels in:

  • Providing a strong vertical recoil control on Thorn’s UZK50GI with the use of the flash hider barrel attachment
  • Allowing Thorn to be able to go into aim-down-sights stance quicker than normal with the use of the angled grip attachment
  • Providing Thorn with great accuracy on her UZK50GI with the use of the Red Dot A 1.0x sight due to its simple center dot reticle
  • Having a secondary weapon that is fully automatic, has a fast rate of fire, and has a very manageable recoil in that C75 Auto machine pistol
  • Slowing enemies down with the use of the barbed wires which are also great partners to Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Barbed Wire

2. UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip + C75 Auto with Suppressor + Barbed Wire

This is a very solid loadout setup for Thorn and for a lot of players, this could very well be the best. That’s because it provides Thorn with the best damage possible on her UZK50GI and that’s regardless of range. That’s possible because the extended barrel attachment greatly reduces the range damage drop-off of weapons, meaning that the UZK50GI will deal the best damage that it can from any distance. The extended barrel will also make the UZK50GI more powerful due to a recent buff that made it so that it now adds 15% damage on weapons.

With this loadout setup, Thorn will be inflicting high damage on enemies and would be able to take them down quicker. But the extended barrel doesn’t have recoil control benefits, so it’s important to partner it with a vertical grip. The vertical grip will provide a strong vertical recoil control on the UZK50GI, so not only will Thorn have high damage with this loadout setup, she will also have great accuracy with it due to the stability that the vertical grip brings.

Excels in:

  • Maximizing the damage output and potential of Thorn’s UZK50GI with the extended barrel greatly reducing its range damage drop-off
  • Inflicting heavier damage than normal with the UZK50GI with the use of the extended barrel that now adds 15% damage on weapons
  • Maintaining a strong vertical recoil control on the UZK50GI with the use of the vertical grip attachment
  • Having a secondary weapon that is basically a mini submachine gun in the C75 Auto machine pistol which has great recoil control, fast rate of fire, and very decent damage
  • Slowing enemies down with the use of the barbed wires which are also great for guarding common flanking spots

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Barbed Wire

Even with the extended barrel adding 15% damage on weapons on top of its previous attribute of reducing weapons’ range damage drop-off, in most weapons, I would still recommend the suppressor if that weapon doesn’t really need additional recoil control from a barrel attachment. That’s because the stealth benefits from the suppressor are just really great for a tactical shooter like Siege. With a suppressor, Thorn’s gunshots from the UZK50GI would be greatly dampened, making it much harder for enemies to hear where she’s shooting from.

Most specially, the suppressor will remove the directional threat indicator from the UZK50GI’s gunshots, as well as the weapon’s muzzle brake. This means that Thorn’s opponents wouldn’t immediately figure out where she’s shooting them from. That could prevent them from immediately and effectively returning fire. It can also reduce their capability to defend themselves since at medium to long-range, they won’t know the direction from which the shots are coming from, and that could prevent them from effectively taking cover.

Excels in:

  • Shooting enemies with Thorn’s UZK50GI submachine gun without providing them a directional threat indicator of where the shots are coming from
  • Making it much harder for enemies to hear where Thorn’s shots are coming from with the suppressor greatly dampening its gunshot sounds
  • Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on Thorn’s UZK50GI submachine gun with the use of the vertical grip attachment
  • Having a machine pistol as a secondary weapon in the C75 Auto which has decent firepower, very fast rate of fire, and very manageable recoil
  • Slowing enemies down with the barbed wires which are also great for guarding usual flanking spots like stairs

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - UZK50GI with Red Dot A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - C75 Auto with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Barbed Wire
