[Top 5] Path of Exile Best Berserker Builds That Wreck Hard!

Berserkers are the embodiment of the ‘kill them before they kill you’ mindset. They literally have a node, Aspect of Carnage, that makes them take extra damage from enemies to boost their own damage with one of the highest damage multipliers in the game.

Quintessential glass-cannons.

5 – Chemist’s Boneshatter

Boneshatter Berserker in Aqueducts

Contrary to the glass cannon archetype that Berserkers tend to follow, this builds embraces the more feral side of Berserkers, by dealing self-damage in order to increase the damage dealt to enemies.

What Chemist’s Boneshatter Excels In:

  • Ridiculously tanky;
  • Quick clear with extra strike targets;
  • Stuns enemies into submission;
  • Budget and League Start friendly.

Chemist’s Boneshatter full details:

  • With over 40k armor, 6k life, 78/79 elemental resists, stun, shock, and freeze immune, this build is supremely tanky for being a Berserker. With a girthy 10k Molten Shell shield, you’re essentially immortal to most big physical hits, which is the goal with Boneshatter;
  • Boneshatter works by dealing physical damage to yourself, which gets mitigated by the armor we get, and for each Trauma stack (one per hit), we deal extra damage (as well as increasing the damage taken per attack;
  • You can league start and go from there, without much gear investment at all. There are no required uniques and everything is achievable with time and effort. It’s a solid all-around build and one you should definitely try!

4 – Facebreaker Ice Crash

Ice Crash's massive AoE

Good ‘ole Facebreaker is still relevant in 2021. And boy, does it deal a lot of damage, especially combined with the easy-to-acquire Rigwald’s Curse Unique Talisman, letting us deal critical strikes.

What the Facebreaker Ice Crash Excels in:

  • Great Single Target damage;
  • Permanent Berserk and Onslaught;
  • Relatively tanky.

Facebreaker Ice Crash full details:

  • With Facebreaker’s scaling any flat physical damage from gear, and being able to crit with Rigwald’s, we can scale our damage absurdly high, with millions of damage per hit in one massive punch;
  • Abyssus can make you feel squishy, but oftentimes, you kill before you are killed, and you have great life recovery methods with Enduring Cry and increased Warcry effects, as well as permanent Endurance Charges;
  • The build takes a bit to get used to, with each Warcry rotation as well totem placement, but with practice, this is strong and effective boss killed and satisfying chunks of damage.

3 – Rage Vortex Berserker

Rage Vortex

Do you want a build that instantly clears a screen of mobs and can mow down bosses with just a press of a button? Rage Vortex is exactly that, with how much damage you can pump out from a Berserker and combining it with some synergistic items.

What the Rage Vortex Berserker Excels in:

  • League Start friendly;
  • Tanky with various layers of defense;
  • Can do ridiculous amounts of damage to bosses.

Rage Vortex full details:

  • This build works by spending Rage to cast the Rage Vortex, and for each point of Rage spent, you deal more damage. So we stack as much maximum rage as possible, with unique items and passive tree nodes, to reach 105 maximum Rage;
  • With the Redblade Banner alongside Warbringer ascendancy node, we get instant maximum Rage and absurdly powerful Exerted attacks, which increases both the AoE and damage of Rage Vortex;
  • The frequent use of Enduring Cry makes it so we get a lot of life regeneration, and together with the Endurance Charges and the screen clear, we are very safe and tanky, especially since we attack from a distance.

2 – Energy Blade Lightning Strike

Energy Blade in-game

Doryani’s Prototype builds have never been as easy to make it work as it is right now in Scourge League, where you can get several pieces of gear with negative lightning resistance, boosting your damage to the skies.

What the Energy Blade Lightning Strike Excels in:

  • Extremely tanky;
  • Over 5 million DPS with basic gear;
  • Quick and simple to start;
  • A lot of room to min-max.

Energy Blade Lightning Strike full details:

  • Energy Blade works by sacrificing half of your ES to convert it into a white sword that deals pure lightning damage based on that ES. You can reach silly flat numbers like over 2k flat Energy damage;
  • The build is tanky due to how we mitigate Lightning Damage Taken, through armor and Energy Shield on Block from Aegis Aurora, which then also helps with Divine Shield, to further top us off in ES, as well as life leech for our life;
  • With Glancing Blows and Versatile Combatant, we are instantly Block and Spell Block capped, and with over 35k armor and 7k EHP, we can take heavy hits easily.

1 – Nate’s Self Ailment Fulcrum Cyclone

Celestial Cyclone MTX

Self-chill became the flavor of the month back in Ultimatum League (though it has always been a thing) and the Fulcrum is a perfect enabler of that mechanic, to push it through the roof both in damage and speed.

What Nate’s Self Ailment Fulcrum Cyclone Excels in:

  • Over 500 Movement Speed;
  • Amazingly Tanky;
  • Unreasonable damage (over 100 million DPS).

Nate’s Self Ailment Fulcrum Cyclone full details;

  • Self-chill works by inverting the effect of Chill with the unique ring Winterweave, and then boosting the effect of Chill to reach the cap of 30%, netting us 30% action speed, which is multiplicative with Tailwind and Berserk, as well all the increases we have from boosts and gear/passive;
  • The Fulcrum takes advantage of that and makes it so every ailment we inflict is reflected on us, so we need to mitigate Shock, Freeze and Ignite in some way. We are unaffected by Shock through Inpulsa’s, ignite through our boots, and Freeze through Arctic Armor;
  • The big thing is that we must still be inflicted by the ailments but not affected by them, so that we make use of Fulcrum’s insane mods while we are chilled, ignited, and shocked.
