Put your defenses up!

Tanks are strong and aggressive heroes. You will deeply rely on a good tank if you are a player who often uses mage or marksman heroes. With so many tanks to choose from in Mobile Legends, it might be difficult to find one that truly fits the meta unless you play them all individually.

Check out the Mobile legend tier list that we have curated for you in order to see who are the current best picks in the tank field.

S Tier: Tanks under this are known for their excellent sets that can truly bring victory to a team. These heroes are powerful and are currently part of the meta. With the correct usage, they excel and do excellently on literally any game.

  • Tigreal: 98/100
  • Khufra: 95/100

A Tier: Heroes in the A Tier are also impressive and great at fulfilling the tank role. Most of the time, these heroes need great allies in order to do their job perfectly.

  • Johnson 86/100
  • Atlas: 86/100
  • Lolita 85/100
  • Uranus 85/100
  • Gloo 84/100
  • Alice 84/100
  • Edith 82/100
  • Akai 82/100
  • Grock: 82/100
  • Hylos: 80/100
  • Gatotkaca 80/100

B Tier:  B Tier tank heroes are extremely average when it comes to their performance and are often outsmarted by heroes in the higher tier. These heroes are still viable as a counterpick but currently do not do well in the meta.

  • Esmeralda 78/100
  • Franco 78/100
  • Baxia 76/100
  • Hilda 75/100
  • Balmond 71/100

C Tier: Tier-C tanks are known for being good tanks but still needing support. These heroes can still pull off their specific roles in a team but require massive input from other teammates.

  • Barats 68/100
  • Ruby 66/100

D Tier: D Tier is for tanks that perform poorly in the meta. These heroes are still viable as counterpicks or in certain situations, but generally, higher-tier tanks are far better picks than them.

  • Belerick 59/100

1. Tigreal (S Tier Roam)

The best among the rest.

Tigreal is one of the first tanks people use in Mobile Legends. Other than the fact that he is very easy to use, his sets are also deadly now that he has gone through some changes!

Tigreal can pull together enemies and push them in a designated direction. This move is very useful, especially during team fights where enemies often flock together. This makes it easier for the damage dealer to target and finish them. This is why Tigreal remains to be a top-tier tank!

Tigreal Strengths:

  • His skills are not difficult to master.
  • He is perfect at ambushing enemies.
  • He has effective crowd control abilities.

2. Khufra (S Tier CC)

Clip 'em all!

Khufra is known for being a tank that is great at the initiation. Khufra’s skills enable him to trick enemies and target them from behind. Of course, as an S Tier tank, Khufra has an excellent setting ability that lets him pool enemies together in front of him. He can also pin them to the wall, immobilizing them for a few seconds.

Khufra is very reliable during team fights where the damage dealer must be protected at all costs. He can easily assist his team and lure enemies near them.

Khufra Strengths:

  • He has high mobility
  • He can provide both offense and defense.
  • He is a great partner with damage dealers who have a massive area of effect damage.

3. Johnson (A Tier CC)

Broom, broom!

A tank that can transform into a car? You probably know by now who we’re talking about. Johnson is the only tank hero who can carry a teammate and move around the map together with them. This allows him to engage in surprise attacks and just easily crash into enemies all the time!

Although mastering how to drive him can be a challenge to most, it is extremely worth it. Johnson’s transforming ability has allowed him to steal lords and save teammates from the enemy ambush.

Johnson Strengths:

  • He can move around the map freely and can easily escape from enemies.
  • He has high mobility because of his ability to transform into a car.
  • He is very durable and regenerates shields, especially when paired with good items.

4. Atlas (A Tier Roam)

Once his ultimate is up, just say your prayers!

Atlas immediately gained popularity the moment he was released because of his crowd control skills. He is also known as the best partner for heroes like Badang and Odette, who have deadly ultimate skills.

Atlas Fatal Links make him an unforgettable tank even up to this day. When this is activated, he hurls a chain at all nearby heroes and begins to attack them with magic damage. This chain will also drag enemies toward where Atlas can choose to throw them toward a targeted location.

Atlas Strengths:

  • He is best at ganking, which is good for a tank hero.
  • He can easily disrupt any enemy team formation because of his ultimate.
  • He moves faster compared to other tanks.

5. Lolita (A Tier Guard)

Defense is up!

Lolita became extremely popular because of her skill in blocking projectiles. She is also a tank who can give shields to her allies. These abilities make Lolita a good tank and support. She performs excellently when paired with a good team combination.

Lolita Strengths:

  • She can play offensively and defensively.
  • She can counter meta core heroes because of her skills.
  • She can easily gank and ambush enemies due to her blink and immobilization abilities.

6. Uranus (A Tier Regen)

A tank and an offlaner!

Uranus is known for his insane durability to the point that players can use him as an offlaner. This durability stems from his passive, which allows him to regenerate HP whenever an enemy attacks him!

More than that, Uranus is also great at clearing minions, which is rare for tank heroes. This makes him a tank who can also provide damage for the team's benefit.

Uranus Strengths:

  • He can escape most of the time because of his dash skill.
  • He lasts longer on the battlefield because of his high sustenance.
  • He is a good pick against heroes that deal more damage over time.

7. Gloo (A Tier Control)

Say hi to little gloos!

Gloo first caught the attention of many because of his unique appearance. After that, many players stayed with him because of the skills that he possesses!

Gloo’s ultimate will split him into smaller blobs. These blobs can then run toward turrets, which you can use to take the hits for you. This skill will also increase movement speed and HP regeneration, which you can utilize in escaping deadly situations.

Gloo Strengths:

  • He has good immobilization skills, which can halt the enemy team.
  • He has high HP regeneration abilities.
  • His skills always result in an increase in his movement, allowing him to roam around the map quickly.

8. Alice (A Tier Charge)

A mage can be a tank? Really?!

Alice is known for being a badass mage. But did you know that she can pull off being a tank too? Yep, you heard that right! Because of Alice’s ability to suck life out of her enemies, this makes her very durable in the game as if she was built initially as a tank!

Of course, you just have to be extra careful with Alice given that her potential mostly unleashes in the latter part of the game. Just be consistent in powering up your damage dealer while buying items for yourself too. A full-build Alice is truly invincible, especially if she casts her ultimate in the middle of flocked enemies.

Alice Strengths:

  • Her ultimate skill no longer has a cooldown.
  • She can easily escape and trick enemies because of her first skill.
  • She possesses sustained damage.

9. Edith (A Tier Burst)

Two-in-one!

Edith truly belongs on this list because of the hybrid damage she gives off. Edith seems to possess the best of both worlds since she is not just a tank; she is a marksman too! She can initiate team fights in her Phylax tank form and deal damage in her marksman Edith form.

Since she is a dual-type hero, that means that it's okay to build Edith with a mix of defensive and offensive items. The judgment highly depends on your enemy team’s composition. Defensive items like Athena's Shield will be perfect if you are up against a strong magic damage dealer. Otherwise, items like Antique Cuirass would be useful against physical damage heroes.

Edith Strengths:

  • Unlike other tank heroes, you can experiment with Edith when it comes to building items because of her dual-type classification.
  • She has high durability, which is perfect for a tank.
  • She can attack multiple enemies at once and deal with crowd control effects.

10. Akai (A Tier CC)

Hello, Panda!

Who would forget the panda who keeps on annoying enemy heroes? Akai is a good initiator, thanks to his skills that have great crowd control effects. His skills enable his team to attack enemies from a safe distance.

What makes Akai an unforgettable tank is because of his ultimate that spins him like a tornado! Using this skill will make him immune to slowing effects and remove all debuff from Akai. This can also increase his movement speed while attacking a target!

Akai Strengths:

  • He can withstand damage from enemies.
  • He can easily single out a target, allowing teammates to kill the damage dealer immediately.
  • His ultimate has a long stun duration and can lock enemies.

11. Grock (A Tier CC)

The wallmaker!

With some meta core heroes in Mobile Legends that utilize a wall, Grock is a good pick against them. Not only is he a reliable and bulky tank, he also possesses the ability to take advantage of walls!

Whenever Grock is near a wall, his mobility increases, and he gains immunity against crowd control effects. He can also cast a trap on the map and corner enemies in order to create a perfect set! This is why Grock is good against heroes like Ling.

Grock Strengths:

  • He counters heroes with unique skills.
  • He deals a decent amount of damage for a tank.
  • He has an early game advantage because of his movement speed, which is fast for a tank.

12. Hylos (A Tier Guard)

Image
Body Image

Half human, half animal.

Hylos is a strong defensive tank and is widely known for his ability to increase the movement speed of his ally. He is also very durable, thanks to his skill that allows him to heal himself. This makes Hylos a tank that can fight longer on the battlefield and assist teammates from incoming enemies.

Because of his lack of damage, Hylos requires assistance from a damage dealer to finish off an enemy. He is not that great alone but works great when paired with others.

Hylos Strengths:

  • He is very durable, and a good roam support for a damage dealer.
  • He can both defend and heal himself at the same time.
  • His skills enable him to target backliners easily.

13. Gatotkaca (A Tier Burst)

Image
Body Image

The strength is here.

Known as the Bones of Steel, Gatotkaca has indeed lived up to his name. This tank is too durable that he can even pass off as an offlaner or a fighter! Although most players are now using him as a fighter, Gatotkaca is still a good choice as a tank.

His durability is because of his passive that allows him to convert his lost HP into a physical defense. Gatotkaca’s unique ultimate is what keeps him famous over the years. Just save your ultimate until most of the enemies have already used up their skills so that you can ensure a perfect set.

Gatotkaca Strengths:

  • He has a high team fight potential.
  • He can deal damage to multiple enemies at once.
  • He can set to a wide area, even from a distance.
