Climb up to the top!

Ranks in Mobile Legends serve as the glory of players. These indicate that you are proficient in playing and very experienced. The better you are in the game, the higher your rank is.

Although there are other modes available in Mobile Legends, players tune in to ranked games since this is where the real battle begins. In this mode, people use heroes that they really master and are more serious about playing since if you lose, your rank will go down.

Since Mobile Legends is a fan of updates and changes, there are also frequent adjustments made in the ranking system. Today, I will walk you through the current ranking system of Mobile Legends and help you better understand it.

How Does the Ranking System Work?

Two Types of Ranked Systems

In Mobile Legends, the game introduced two kinds of identifying your progress in rank. From Warrior up to Legend tiers, the player is scored through the stars system. In every win, you will get one additional point, excluding those moments where you get an extra star if you were able to achieve certain conditions.

Meanwhile, when you reach the Mhytic tier, the star system is no longer applicable. Instead, players have to earn the required number of points that they must accumulate in order to reach a higher rank in the Mythic tier. In the latest patch, this is the point range applicable to certain Mythic Ranks:

  • Mythic V- 1-199 pts
  • Mythic IV- 200- 299 pts
  • Mythic III- 300 -399 pts
  • Mythic II- 400-499 pts
  • Mythic I- 500-599 pts
  • Mythical Glory- 600+ points

Tier Rewards

At the end of the season, Mobile Legends offer rewards to players who reach a certain rank. Every tier, even those at the lowest, provides gifts to loyal players. However, only those who reached at least the Master tier get to enjoy a Season Exclusive Skin. This has been going on ever since the game started, which becomes a very good motivation for players to do better every season.

Of course, the higher your rank is, the bigger your prize will be!

Restrictions for New Players

You have to know that the ranked mode is where everyone becomes very serious about winning the game. So if you will play in the ranked mode and you are still new to this game, it would be a great disadvantage for your team.

That is why Mobile Legends put early restrictions and will only allow you to join Ranked Mode if you have already reached level 8 with more than 5 owned heroes. This will at least ensure that you will not troll in the game and that you have already undergone practice before joining ranked games.

Draft Picking

This is one of the first technical terms that you should be aware of when it comes to the ranking system in Mobile Legends. When you reach the Epic tier, you will be introduced to rules and features under draft picking.

This time, you and your opponents will no longer be able to play the same hero in the gameplay. Each team will also be given a chance to ban 2 heroes. This is very useful, especially in times when a certain hero is too OP for that particular season, or your team wants to protect your composition and ban the hero that will counter your strategy.

Team up with friends

This is one of the reasons why Mobile Legends became so popular today. In the ranked mode, you can team up with friends or with people that you feel comfortable with. That way, you will have a high chance of winning since you can easily communicate with them.

In the ranked mode, just like other modes in Mobile Legends, you only have to form a team of 5. However, take note that premade teams of 4 are not allowed. That is to sustain smooth game matching along the way. If you want to really team up with people you only know, it's either play with your other two friends or makes sure that you will find other people to complete the 5-man slots.

Rank Difference

If a warrior-tiered player goes up against a mythic-tiered player, that’s hugely unfair, isn’t it? That is why in Ranked Mode, you cannot team up with friends that exceed one rank from you. For example, if you are in the Epic Tier, you can only team up with players in the Legend Tier or Grandmaster Tier. However, you cannot play with those in Mythic ranks.

In the same case, you will not also compete with opponents who do not have the same rank tiers as you. If your team is composed of players with varying ranks, the matching will depend on the member who has the highest rank.

Season Restart

Of course, there’s no fun if we all just go up every time. To sustain the thrill that comes with Mobile Legends, no matter what your rank is, you will always go down at the end of the season. It's almost as if the game restarts and gives everyone a new fresh start. This will then give players another reason to strive again since they would all want to achieve the highest rank possible.

The season ends every three months. The higher your rank is at the end of the previous season, the higher your starting rank will be in the new season.

Star raising and protection points

We have already given a glimpse of star-raising points earlier, where players get to earn more stars than usual when they complete certain conditions. Other than star-raising rewards, Mobile Legends also provide protection points in the Ranked Mode. Protection points, from the name itself, will protect you from losing a star. You can achieve this if you or your teammate have a bad internet connection or if you got a protection badge from events.

Take note that in the Mythic rank, there are no longer star raising-rewards. All you will have in the Mythic rank is the protection points.

Mythic Placement Match

The moment you reach the Mythic rank for the first time, you will be given 10 placement matches to complete. If you complete these matches wonderfully, that means more wins than losses, then you will also get more points as a headstart in your Mythic journey.

Mythical Glory

Mythical Glory is already the highest rank that a player could get. However, in that rank, Mobile Legends will begin to pool the top 1,000 players worldwide. In order to be qualified, you need to reach at least 600 points. But you will not be displayed as one of the top players unless you are able to earn more points than those on the list.

If you really aim at getting your name flashed on the list, do not worry because Mobile Legends will also let you know how many more points you should earn in order to enter the leaderboards.
