Your account will be full of bling in no time.

Premium currency is very important in games like Marvel Snap. It can allow you to speed up the progress of the game and get cool cosmetics as well. But it can be pretty hard to scope out what you should be saving that currency for, and it can feel quite terrible if you end up wasting it all on something that was not worth it in the slightest.

Gold is the premium currency in Marvel Snap and has a multitude of ways to earn it. Whether that is paid with real money or earned naturally in the game,. You can get gold for free by completing daily missions, progressing the battle pass, trading in conquest medals, and, of course, reaching rank 90 for that easy 500.

But because it is still pretty difficult to constantly get gold, you’d probably want to make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck. So what are the best things you spend gold on? Well, we’ve got the top ten ways right here. All of these options are the best ways to actually spend your gold and will help give you insight on what you want to purchase with that hard-to-get currency.

10. Random Premium Mystery Variant - 800 Gold

Who doesn't like a little bit of gambling.

The random premium mystery variant is simple. It’s a random variant in the game with a chance of being a super rare instead of a rare; there’s also, thankfully, none of those pesky pixel variants in these! In the shop, it can seem quite intimidating at first to buy. You are spending 800 gold on the chance to get a super rare, and you have a higher likelihood of just getting a rare and wasting 100 gold, but who doesn’t like a bit of a gamble? However, there is another reason to invest in them.

Whenever a new album comes out, these premium mystery variants will now have a higher likelihood of giving you a variant from that album. So, for example, if the album was a Kim Jacinto album, then these premium mystery variants will have a higher chance of giving you a Kim Jacinto variant. And if you get one, not only does it contribute to the album, but it also gives you a super rare variant, which normally costs 1200 gold. However, you only paid 800 gold. It’s worth the asking price to get these when a super rare album releases, and wow, does it feel good to save on gold on a really good variant. Plus, contributing to those albums can earn you rewards like avatars, tokens, and emotes.

9. Avatars - 250 gold for a Rare, 400 gold for a Super Rare

Pick who you want to be!

Whenever you get into a match, you will see that icon above your and the opponent’s names. This is an avatar, a way to display yourself as your favorite Marvel character or variant. It can prove to be quite impressive to have a really rare or expensive avatar as well. But why spend gold on these? Well, they are pretty cool cosmetics that you will see in every game. Every time you load into a match, you will see this icon in the top left, and you’ll probably see that more than most of your card variants.

It also gives you something to try and get an infinity border for in the infinity conquest. It can be a pretty cool flex to have a rare avatar with an infinity border. On top of all of that, they are also fairly cheap. 250 for a rare is probably the cheapest cosmetic in the entire game, and 400 for a super rare isn’t that far off. They’re super easy to get and don’t cost a lot, making players who love to customize themselves pretty satisfied. Sidenote, the pixel avatars also end up looking so bad, they’re good, they’re the best ones to get.

8. Credits - 400 gold for 500 credits, 1200 gold for 1500 credits

A good way to get to card upgrades faster!

Credits are quite a useful bit of currency to have in Marvel Snap. It is used for a multitude of things, like upgrading cards and climbing up the collection ladder. But sometimes it’s also not as fast as you’d desire, and you just really want to have series 3 complete quickly. Well, that's why purchasing credits is on our list.

Credits are pretty much required to get new cards in Marvel Snap, whether that be through spotlight keys or a chance of getting a random series 3. It helps speed up progression by buying credits, and on top of that, 1200 for 1500 credits is a great deal; that's a ton of credits to spend and an easy at least 30 levels up on the collection level. But that’s not all; spending credits on card upgrades leads you to split them, giving you a higher chance at getting a really cool ink or gold card to add to your collection.

7. Card Borders - 500 gold for Rares, 900 gold for Super Rares

A flashy way to surround your favorite variants.

Marvel Snap has expanded its card customization options with the addition of card borders. For your Inked Annihilus, you can now get a more neon green color, and for your gold Iron Man, a gold metallic. With some sparkling card borders surrounding them, it gives you more opportunity than ever to flash and display your card variations.

It’s worth the purchase for the flex alone, but they also do look very nice; some are bright and stand out, and others, like the cosmic ones, change the idea of what a border is completely. Plus, they are actually pretty cheap for cosmetics. 500 gold for a rare is a really good deal since it will be on that card forever, especially if it’s a card you use frequently in several decks.

6. Daily Quest refreshes - 120 gold

Add more things to do during the week!

Everyone gets six daily quests throughout the day, and these are a good incentive to log on to Marvel Snap throughout the day and complete said daily missions. They even offer fantastic rewards like credits, battle pass xp, and xp for your weekly challenges. The weekly challenges are the best part of all of this, as for every five you complete, you get a burst of credits, battle pass XP, and gold!

With the final reward in mind, you can see why this is a good way to spend your gold. Not only does it speed up progression by giving you credits. Credits that can be used to upgrade cards and progress in the collection ladder. But it also gives you gold in return via your weekly challenges. Refreshing these quests for two more also gives you something else to do while playing Snap, giving you more missions to complete during the day.

5. Token Tuesday - 450 gold

Don't get it mixed up with Taco Tuesday.

Tokens are quite a hard currency to collect; they’re somehow even harder to obtain than gold. Plus, you have to accumulate quite a lot in order to get a Series 4, 5, or an ultimate variant. 6,000 tokens can be quite a grind, especially since the collector’s reserves only have a chance to give 100. That set of stairs up to a Series 5 card is just too long, but luckily there is a way to speed up grabbing these.

For 450 gold, you can get the Token Tuesday bundle. Token Tuesday rolls around every Tuesday! It offers 400 collector’s tokens and, as a bit of a smaller reward, offers 15 boosters. But the boosters are not the reason you buy this bundle; it’s for the tokens! Getting this bundle is going to significantly boost your speed on getting a Series 5 card with your tokens, and it is so worth it to finally get your hands on an incredible card like the adorable Jeff the Baby Land Shark.

4. Boosters - Price varies

No need to rely on RNG!

Boosters are gradually gained every time you play a match; they are also dependent on how many turns you play in said match. You may have a retreat on turn 1 and then only get one booster from the game overall. To make things worse, the card it rewards the booster with is completely random; you could be begging for some Captain America boosters, but unfortunately, the game gave them to Wasp. Thankfully, purchasing card boosters can help fix that.

You can use your gold to purchase boosters for a card. Now the price may vary depending on how much you’ve upgraded that card before, but ultimately what matters is that you can speed up the game even further with gold. Now you can actually just straight up buy the remaining boosters you wanted for Captain America, and with that, you can climb the collection ladder or split him for a chance to get him inked. Just like buying credits, this is a good way to get new cards early; it’s just that this one isn’t nearly as random as the normal method of getting boosters.

3. Emotes - 2200 gold

Use these to be friendly, not toxic >:(

New emotes are really hard to unlock in Marvel Snap. You may be stuck with the same starter ones for quite a while. The only possible ways to get them without gold are through the battle pass and through albums. Albums are quite a grind to progress to if you aren’t willing to spend gold, so how else can you get these shiny icons to show to your opponent? Well through gold.

They are incredibly expensive, sure, but it may be worth it to have that permanent emote you can hit your opponent with at any time. Since emotes are also so rare, it would be sort of special in a way to have something that most people don’t have. To top it off, these emotes in the shop are meant to represent memes and are more humorous than toxic. If you’re willing to spend gold on cosmetic features, emotes are a very solid option to buy.

2. Variants - 700 gold for a Rare, 1200 gold for a Super Rare

Collect versions of your favorite heroes from across the multiverse.

Variants are definitely the best way to show off your cosmetics in Marvel Snap. Variants are a way to give some of your favorite cards some different and unique costumes. Whether that be a steampunk version of Ant-Man or a venomized version of Iron Fist, there are a ton of different versions of characters to collect. There are also artist-specific variants that showcase that character in a completely different art style, such as Kim Jacinto or Dan Hipp variants… Just ignore the pixel ones.

To get these variants, you can get them from free mystery variants, collectors reserves, or through twitch drops. But the easiest way to get them and get the specific ones you want is to buy them from the shop. You can get any certain version of a card you want in the variant shop for a good price of gold too. Getting these variants with gold is not only the most consistent way to earn variants, but it also gives you bonus rewards, like potential album and daily offer progression.

1. Gold Bundles - Price varies

Do your best to save up for those big prices!

Gold Bundles will always have some of the best rewards you can possibly get. They can offer a multitude of hard-to-get currencies, like credits, boosters, collector’s tokens, and even spotlight keys. However, the quantity of currency is much higher than anything else in the game. They are the fastest way to get a ton of currency easily, and some may even have some exclusive variants that are impossible to unlock elsewhere.

Now, with these bundles, there is also restraint needed from the player. The hardest part about getting these bundles is how expensive they are and trying to tell yourself to save for them instead of getting that one variant you like in the shop. They are definitely worth it if you do save, and they are easily the best way to spend your gold in Marvel Snap.
