Iron Man isn’t a card that you typically build a deck around. But if you really like the card (or if you’ve gotten a nice variant and want to show it off) you’re in luck, since we’ll go over some really fun Iron Man decks to play.

There are decks for early pool 3 players, as well as some decks that require a few cards that are a little harder to get. Iron Man is a unique card with a unique effect and we’re going to go into decks that make the best of him!

3.Omega Red Supremacy

This deck focuses on making life harder for your opponent while easily getting a lot of power on your side. This deck however, has a lot of pool 3 cards and a few pool 4 cards which makes it a little hard to make for someone who’s recently entered pool 3, but it’s a ton of fun to play if you’ve got all the cards.

This deck can easily give you a lot of power with a few cards if you play them correctly. This isn’t a classic Mister Negative deck that focuses solely on him, and you might not want to play him every game that you draw him depending on what’s in your hand. You can combo Omega Red with Sentry and/or Iron Man to give a little power to all of your locations. Using Viper to send Electro, Mister Negative or Sentry’s Void to your opponent is also super satisfying to do. All the while you can use your powerful cards to win other locations.

What Is Great About This Deck:

  • It has a few different win conditions and doesn’t rely on a single combo to win you the game
  • It’s great for players who’ve got a lot of cards and want to try out a fun deck with a unique playstyle
  • Using Viper to send Electro can prevent your opponent from playing multiple cards each turn without giving him extra energy and sending The Void is a nice -8 power on the rightmost location
  • Turn 4 Omega Red into turn 5 Iron Man can secure you a location and Omega Red’s buff to other locations as long as you’ve played a few cards early on the same location
  • Mister Negative can be a game changer in some games, but this deck doesn’t want to play Mister Negative on turn 4 every game, like most decks based around him

Card List:

  • The Hood
  • Baron Mordo
  • Viper
  • Iron Heart
  • Electro
  • Mister Negative
  • Darkhawk
  • Spider-Man
  • Omega Red
  • Sentry
  • Iron Man
  • Magik

2.Ongoing + Destroyer

This Deck mixes strong cards with Ongoing effects with a powerful turn 6 whether you play Destroyer or Spectrum. Armor and Cosmo make sure that in most situations you can freely play Destroyer if you need a lot of power on a single location, or if instead you need more power on all locations, you have Spectrum as a good turn 6 finisher.

After Sandman got buffed, he became a lot more viable and useful, since it can reliably stop your opponent’s combo plays on turn 6. You have to be careful and think a few steps ahead with this deck, since you can’t just play destroyer on turn 6 and destroy everything you have - instead you have to carefully set up your board in case you need to play him. Your smaller cards like Ant-Man and Captain America can give you a lot of power for low energy, and you can finish the game off with your powerful 5 and 6 cost cards.

What Is Great About This Deck:

  • All cards have Ongoing effects, so turn 6 Spectrum is going to give you a lot of value always.
  • Not a lot of people will expect Destroyer in this deck, so you can activate Warpath’s ability when they don’t expect it by leaving one location open after playing Destroyer
  • Iron Man, Warpath and Klaw will always give you good value for their energy, especially if you correctly set up your board state
  • Cosmo into Destroyer is a great way to make sure one location has a lot of power without having to destroy any of your other cards

Card List:

  • Ant-Man

  • Armor

  • Colossus

  • Mister Fantastic

  • Captain America

  • Cosmo

  • Warpath

  • Iron Man

  • Klaw

  • Sandman

  • Spectrum

  • Destroyer

1.Mr. Negative

This is a classic example of a Mister Negative deck that runs a lot of expensive cards with low power that gets swapped once you play Mister Negative. This version is beginner pool 3 friendly since it doesn’t run as many pool 3 cards as it could, but it still gets the job done.

The goal with this deck is to play Lockjaw and Mister Negative which will make all of the cards in your deck give you insane value. Iron Man is a key part in Mister Negative decks because once his Power and Cost are swapped he easily wins you any location because his effect combined with his 5 power is insane value. Magik is there to give you more time to draw into your powerful cards and the rest of the deck is built around giving you a lot of value with a few cards.

What Is Great About This Deck:

  • Lockjaw after you play Mister Negative can shuffle your weaker cards with the stronger ones from your deck.
  • Iron Man, Professor X and Devil Dino can easily secure locations just by themselves
  • Adam Warlock’s powerful draw effect becomes even more useful when paired with Mister Negative
  • Magik gives you the ability to prolong the game and draw more of your powerful cards
  • Jubilee on Lockjaw’s location is insanely powerful!

Card List:

  • Adam Warlock
  • Iron Heart
  • Lockjaw
  • Mister Negative
  • Jubilee
  • Spider-Man
  • Iron Man
  • White Tiger
  • Blue Marvel
  • Devil Dinosaur
  • Magik
  • Professor X
