This time we’re going to talk about the first archon to appear in the game: Venti. Although some people think these bard’s only redeeming qualities are that he’s a drunkard and a slacker, his power rivals the rest of the archons.

He’s another one of those Genshin Impact characters that are mostly thought out to be a support. However, as this game allows gamers to play with the character’s stats, you may be able to build him as a DPS. Here we show you how!

3. Full DPS Build: Viridescent Venerer + Gladiator’s Finale

We start this three-builds guide with a full DPS build. The stats are centered around ATK and direct damage. That’s why we use weapons with Critical Rate to deal Critical hits. That’s also why the artifact set we use has both an Anemo Damage increase (2 Viridescent Venerer) and an ATK% increase (2 Gladiator’s Finale).

Venti’s other stats, like Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery, aren’t as high. So his gameplay should be centered around spamming both his skill and his charged attacks, like Ganyu. With the correct weapons and artifacts, they should deal enough damage for him to pass as a DPS.

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. DPS: As a DPS build, it’s evident the damage dealt is high. The stats we’re focused on are ATK and Critical Hits, so his continuous damage should be sufficient for him to kill every enemy by himself.
  • 2. Enabling: His best asset for enabling is his burst. However, with this build, he will have to wait more time to have it, and it won’t deal as much damage because of the lack of Elemental Mastery.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Skyward Harp (Critical Rate)
    • 4-star option: Viridescent Hunt (Critical Rate)
    • 3-star option: Slingshot (Critical Rate)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet: Anemo Damage Bonus
    • Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

2. Triple Elemental Mastery Support Build: Viridescent Venerer

In the second place, we find a full support build. What’s Anemo Damage Bonus? What’s ATK%? We don’t need those. Venti was one of the best characters to need Elemental mastery, which puzzled a lot of people at first.

Now EM is really studied and people know how to work with it. In summary, if you increase your EM, the damage dealt by his Swirl reaction will increase. Moreover, having 4 pieces of Viridescent Venerer decreases the enemies’ resistance to that element. And don’t forget his amazing burst’s crowd control!

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Enabling: As expected, this build excels at enabling and increasing the other character’s damage. With the crowd control to attract even big enemies like the Fatui, the huge Swirl damage, and the decrease in resistance, he’s simply brutal.
  • 2. DPS: His DPS really suffers a loss. In this case, his burst will be the only one who can deal decent damage, so he will have to be off the field for the most part. However, maybe that’s what your team needs right now.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Elegy for the End (Energy Recharge)
    • 4-star option: Stringless (Elemental Mastery)
    • 3-star option: Raven Bow (Elemental Mastery)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: Elemental Mastery
    • Goblet:  Elemental Mastery
    • Circlet: Elemental Mastery

1. Mixed Support + DPS Build: Viridescent Venerer

Finally, we get to the first place. This is the build I use (I say that a lot, don’t I…) so you can trust me when I say it is amazing. Venti really shines as a support. However, he deals tons of damage as a DPS, so it was a bit of a letdown to just using him as burst support.

That’s why people created this build. This way you won’t lose Venti’s amazing capabilities as an enabler and crowd control support. But you won’t lose his DPS and will be able to have him in the field while dealing nuker charged attacks.

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Enabling: Although his DPS is higher, enabling is still what this build excels in. The 4-piece Viridescent Venerer is just amazing with any Anemo character, increasing the teammates' damage by leaps and bounds.
  • 2. DPS: That said, his DPS is still amazing and the damage dealt by both the Anemo Damage (charged attacks and skill) and the Swirl Damage (burst) is just fabulous.

Build details:

  • Weapons:
    • 5-star option: Skyward Harp (Critical Rate)
    • 4-star option: Viridescent Hunt (Critical Rate) or Stringless (Elemental Mastery)
    • 3-star option: Raven Bow (Elemental Mastery)
  • Artifact stats:
    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet:  Anemo Damage Bonus
    • Circlet: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

Well, do you see why he isn’t just a drunkard? This powerful archon moved seas and mountains when he first created Mondstadt. That’s not something a lazy bard would do. Moreover, having a huge dragon, a wolf, and a demi-god following him? That doesn’t happen to anyone for sure.

We hope with this guide you find the build you are looking for for your Venti, and that you start having lots and lots of fun with him. He’s a really entertaining character and you should use him to the max!
