1. France

France are the current world champions. The amount of quality in this team is classed by pundits as potentially the greatest assemble of a squad we’ve ever seen in football. They are compared to Pele’s Brazil and that says a lot about this team’s quality.

Attack Rating: 87
Midfield Rating: 85
Defence Rating: 82
Pros: Everything but the fullbacks.
Cons: Fullbacks.

The only weakness of the team is at the fullback position. Hernandez will have to play out of position, and Pavard is really slow with 69 pace.

2. Belgium

This exciting team has some great individual talents but as a collective unit, they are one of the best teams to watch. Having come close in both the euros and world cup, this Belgium team with stars like De Bruyne, Hazard and Lukaku are one to keep an eye on.

Attack Rating: 85
Midfield Rating: 83
Defence Rating: 80
Pros: Pace on the wings and strength in the centre.
Cons: The team is not the best defensively.

3. Portugal

This team led by arguably the greatest player of all time in Cristiano Ronaldo is really a force to reckon with.  Portugal won UEFA Euro 2016 and UEFA Nations League in 2019. In FIFA 22, Portugal has a host of top-tier players in their squad. Ronaldo, Jota, Fernandez, and Silva are all available to gamers this year. Portugal should really be lower on this list, but they have Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old striker will take over matches all by himself, and for that reason, Portugal is third on this list.

Attack Rating: 85
Midfield Rating: 82
Defence Rating: 82
Pros: Ronaldo and a stable of dangerous attackers.
Cons: Pace in the midfield and defence.

4. England

Last year’s Euro cup finalists are a threat to be reckoned with. The team is led by the world-class Harry Kane. New young players like Saka, showed their grit in the just-finished euros tournament. Sterling, Rashford, and Sancho round out the team's attack. England's defence has some bright spots as well with Gomez, Trippier, and Walker providing both skill and experience.

Attack Rating: 85
Midfield Rating: 83
Defence Rating: 81
Pros: Amazing wingers with blistering pace.
Cons: Wingers are weak and midfielders are sluggish.

5. Italy

Italy is the current European champion. Led by the experience of Bonucci and Chiellini, they are a team that plays with so much passion. Immobile, Insigne, and Chiesa are top-tier attackers upfront.

Attack Rating: 83

Defence Rating: 82
Pros: Balanced at the front and midfield.
Cons: Defenders are too slow.
