I always get asked what the best builds are, and what gives the best results. This is an updated best survivor builds top ten list that includes the latest and greatest perks to use on a loadout. As the game adds updates and nerfs, this list is subject to change, and this is also just my humble opinion. ENJOY!

This list will be the top ten best survivor builds in Dead by Daylight. Most of the perks in this game are considerably balanced so I will name which perks are the best in my opinion along with the title of the builds.

10. The Farmer

Anyone that plays DBD loves blood points right? They are the main source of “income” if you will for individual character progression. This is the main build to farm those blood points. I have also used this build to get quick points during matches! 1.2.3 Here we GO!

  • We’re Gonna Live Forever (David King) - It allows you to gain a stackable 25% bonus on Bloodpoints for each token earned, going as high as 100%. Tokens can be earned by performing tasks such as blinding or stunning the Killer, performing a Safe Hook rescue, or taking Protection hits.
  • Prove Thyself (Dwight Fairfield) - this Survivor Perk grants up to 100% Bloodpoint bonuses for engaging in teamwork and cooperative actions.
  • Borrowed Time (Bill Overbeck) - This perk acts as a support perk that increases the players’ endurance such as gaining an endurance boost from being rescued from a hook once you get hit by Killers that would otherwise put you in a Dying State. It is also converted into the Deep Wound status effect, giving you the second chance and confidence booster that you need to make a quick escape from the killer. This perk is more like an anti-camping tool to run against killers that like to sit. Looking at you Bubba!
  • Dead Hard (David King)  - This is a wonderful perk that allows players to tap into their adrenaline and dash without taking further damage when injured. Using these four perks together will ensure that you make the most amount of Bloodpoints if you interact with the Killer and help out your fellow survivors.

9. The Counter

This build is great for players that want to counterplay nearly every killer in the game.

  • Alert (Feng Min) - This perk gives you the ability to see the Killer every time they destroy a Generator or break either a pallet or a breakable wall.
  • Distortion (Jeff Johansen) - This perk allows you to start the match with 4 tokens, each of which is consumed every time the Killer tries to read your aura, also hiding your scratch marks for a short time. The playing field is leveled when you have the Killer’s location but they cannot locate you.
  • Desperate Measures (Felix Richter) - This perk boosts your Unhooking and Healing speed by up to a maximum of 56%.
  • Rookie Spirit (Leon S Kennedy) - This perk requires you to hit at least 3 skill checks on a Generator repair to activate it. Once activated, it will reveal the aura of any regressing Generator.

With this build, you will be able to complete the trial with a ton of information and speed required to heal yourself or save your friends.

8. No Time To Die

When playing as the Survivor, your primary goal is to escape the Trial Grounds alive. This build allows you to do just that, which is to lower the possibility of your and your teammates’ death when playing as the Survivor.

  • Soul Guard (Cheryl Mason) - With a cooldown period of 30 seconds, this perk grants you an Endurance status effect when healed from the Dying State. Any wound from Killers that would otherwise put you in a Dying State is converted into a Deep Wound status effect, after which you get 20 seconds to recover yourself. When under the Cursed status effect, Soul Guard allows players to completely recover from the Dying State.
  • Breakout (Yui Kimura) - This perk allows you to help your teammates wiggle out of the Killer’s grasps at an increased speed when they are being carried away. Furthermore, you also get a Haste status effect, increasing your movement speed.
  • Resurgence (Jill Valentine) - This perk allows you to get a free 50% healing progress after you are unhooked, enabling you to get back on your feet as quickly as possible.
  • For the People (Zarina Kassir) - is another perk that’s geared towards helping your teammates survive, as it allows you to transfer a health state from yourself to your teammate when they are out of med-kits. However, it will leave you with a Broken status effect in the process.

7. The Aura Reader

If you’re a player that likes to have a lot of information on hand when playing a match, this build is for you. This build will reveal a ton of information while also getting rid of Totems that might help the Killers get the upper hand on you.

  • Counterforce (Jill Valentine) - this is a perk that increases your Totem cleansing speed by 20%.
  • Clairvoyance (Mikaela Reid) - This is a Perk that reveals Auras of not only Exit Gate Switches but also Generators, Hooks, and Chests in a 64-meter range whenever you cleanse a Totem. Very nifty.
  • Visionary (Felix Richter) - Reveals the auras of all Generators within a 32-meter radius.
  • Open Handed (Ace Visconti) -  This perk works in harmony with all of the aforementioned perks as it enhances the Aura reading abilities of both yourself and your teammates by increasing everyone’s Aura-reading range by 16 meters.

6. The MacGyver

As the name suggests, this build was designed to allow you to gain bonuses from your environment through interaction with your surroundings and objectives. This build is for those who like to be resourceful in their playstyle.

  • Any Means Necessary (Yui Kimura) - is a perk that allows players to pick up dropped pallets, taking 4 seconds to complete, while also revealing the auras of other dropped pallets.
  • Flashbang (Leon S Kennedy) - This perk allows you to craft a Flash grenade by getting in an empty locker once you have worked on a generator for 40 seconds.
  • Inner healing (Nancy Wheeler) - This perk was once called “Inner Strength” before Netflix withdrew the deal with Dead by Daylight. So Nancy is not able to be purchased any longer. However, this perk can still be obtained by the “Shrine of Secrets”. This perk can be activated once you cleanse a Totem. Once activated, you can heal yourself by hiding in a locker; while healing a single health state takes up to 8 seconds.
  • Diversion (Adam Francis) - This perk is one of the ultimate troll perks to obtain, it activates while staying in the Killer’s terror radius for 30 seconds while not in a chase. Once activated, players can throw a pebble within a 20-meter radius to distract the Killer with a loud noise notification, also creating fake scratch marks where the pebble lands.

5. Army of One

This build is for the players with a combat playstyle. The worst nightmare for any killer. If you come across these players, chase someone else. Not them, because you may lose the entire match if you dedicate your time to chasing these trolls!

  • Flashbang (Leon S Kennedy) -  This perk allows you to craft a Flash grenade by getting in an empty locker once you have worked on a generator for 40 seconds.
  • Head On (Jane Romero) - This perk allows you to stun Killers while rushing out of a locker. To activate this perk, you need to stay in the locker for 4 seconds and jump out when the Killer is near the locker that you’re in.  This has a stun duration of 3 seconds if done properly.
  • Decisive Strike (Laurie Strode) - This perk activates for 60 seconds after you unhook yourself. If the Killer picks you up in this time frame, you can stab them and get away from their clutches. However, repairing Generators, healing yourself or your teammates, or cleansing a totem during this period will disable the perk. Only able to be used once per match.
  • Blast Mine (Jill Valentine) - This perk allows you to create traps for Killers after progressing 66% on a Generator repair. After working on the Generator for over 50 seconds, you can install a Blast mine on it, which will blind and stun the Killer. All these perks combined work well together in a playstyle meant to taunt the Killer.

4. Sneaky, Sneaky

This build is aimed towards the ultimate stealth-seeking players. If you are looking to be undetected by the Killer, this build is for you.

  • Quick & Quiet (Meg Thomas) - This perk eliminates the noise notification you make when vaulting over windows or hiding in lockers, and this means that you do not have to worry about a Loud Noise notification when doing fast actions.
  • Calm Spirit (Jake Park) - This perk completely suppresses your screams while also making you undetectable from crows.  This perk is honestly best used against killers like The Doctor. His shock power won’t locate you. You are completely hidden until he actively seeks you out.
  • Boon: Shadow Step (Mikaela Reed) - This perk allows you to bless a Dull or Hex totem. After blessing the totem, you will not generate any scratch marks when you run, and your aura will remain undetected from the Killer as long as you are within a 24-meter radius of the totem that you have blessed.
  • Iron Will (Jake Park) - This is a perk that reduces your grunts when injured, making it difficult for the Killer to track you down. The highest tier of this perk makes your grunts completely nonexistent, it’s wild.

3. Boons R US

This build is focused on using all of the Boon Survivor Perks available in DBD, Since all Boon perks can be activated and used within the range of the same blessed totem, pairing them together will give you multiple benefits at once.

  • Boon: Circle of Healing (Mikaela Reid) - This perk can be activated by blessing a Dull or Hex totem. Once activated, your healing speed will increase by 100% within the 24-meter radius of the blessed totem. You will also have the ability to heal yourself without the need for a medkit, at double the normal healing speed at that.
  • Boon: Exponential (Jonah Vasquez) - This perk allows you to recover from the Dying state at 100% of the recovery speed when you are within the radius of the Boon totem.
  •  Boon: Shadow Step (Mikaela Reid) - This perk allows you to bless a Dull or Hex totem. After blessing the totem, you will not generate any scratch marks when you run, and your aura will remain undetected from the Killer as long as you are within a 24-meter radius of the totem that you have blessed.
  • Small Game (Generic Perk) - This perk gives you an auditory warning when facing a totem within a 12-meter radius, allowing you to find good totem spots.

2. The Selfless Teammate

This build is for those who are  team players, and would rather keep their teammates alive above all else.

  • Boon: Circle of Healing - This perk can be activated by blessing a Dull or Hex totem. Once activated, your healing speed will increase by 100% within the 24-meter radius of the blessed totem. You will also have the ability to heal yourself without the need for a medkit, at double the normal healing speed at that.
  • Botany Knowledge (Claudette Morel) - This perk increases healing speed and healing efficiency by up to 33% depending on the tier of the perk.
  • For the People (Zarina Kassir) - This perk allows you to transfer one health state from yourself to your teammate, given you have full health to activate the perk. However, it will leave you with a Broken status effect for 60 seconds.

1. I GOT THE POWER!

This build is the best and most OP build in this game, hands down. It is Meta. Every player uses this on at least one of their survivors.

  • Adrenaline (Meg Thomas) - When the exit gates are powered, you will receive a 150% boost in running speed for 5 seconds while also healing one health state. However, if you are on a hook when the exit gates open, you will still be able to revive your health and sprint after you get off the hook.
  • Dead Hard (David King) - As stated earlier, this perk allows players to tap into their adrenaline and dash without taking further damage when injured.
  • Borrowed Time (Bill Overbeck) - As stated earlier, this perk acts as a support perk that increases the players’ endurance such as gaining an endurance boost from being rescued from a hook once you get hit by Killers that would otherwise put you in a Dying State. It is also converted into the Deep Wound status effect, giving you the second chance and confidence booster that you need to make a quick escape from the killer.
  • Iron Will - As stated earlier, This is a perk that reduces your grunts when injured, making it difficult for the Killer to track you down. The highest tier of this perk makes your grunts completely nonexistent, it’s wild.
