[Top 10] CSGO Best Crosshairs (Used By The Best Players In The World)

Pro Crosshairs
Updated:
30 Dec 2021

Choosing a crosshair is an integral part of CS:GO. Whether it’s green, blue, pink, big, small, t-shaped, or even a dot, a crosshair relies on comfort not only from shooting, but moving as well. In fact, one of the best ways to find the perfect crosshair is to simply test it out; for example, how well do you see yourself spraying, bursting, and one tapping? And at what distances do you feel the most comfortable and uncomfortable?

If you’re having a hard time choosing one, you can easily experiment with a pro’s crosshair (via copy and paste using a script or one-by-one in the console). That said, today I’ll be showing you the top crosshairs used by some of the best players in the world.

10. Grim

Image
Body Image
Simple and easy to see.

Grim’s crosshair features a light neon green color in the shape of a cross. You can see a slight gap in the middle, but if you look closely, it also resembles a clear square dot. Thanks to the vibrant color, it’s easier to spot as you shoot and move along. However, it also tends to be smaller than most crosshairs (slightly zoomed in for clarity) used today. One reason being is so that the crosshair aligns more closely with your enemy’s head without overextending to the body.

About Grim

Grim currently plays for Team Liquid as a rifler and entry fragger. He was born in 2000 and currently resides in Austin, Texas. In 2020, he and team Triumph ranked first in the ESEA S33: Premier Division-North America Finals ($12,500/$27,500). So far, he boasts an impressive ~50% headshot this year, according to HLTV.

What’s Good About Grim’s Crosshair

  • Easy to see (color)
  • Slightly thicker than some of the modern-day smaller crosshairs, making it more transparent
  • Gap in the middle provides a, “fill in the blank” aka enemy’s head

Grim’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 200; cl_crosshaircolor 1; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -2; cl_crosshairsize 2; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshaircolor_b 0; cl_crosshaircolor_g 0; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255;

9. Brehze

Image
Body Image
A white crosshair? Yes!

Brezhe uses a fairly small crosshair with no gaps. Depending on your screen’s settings and brightness, a white color (or shade) may help your crosshair standout. For brighter screens, however, a darker color, such as black, red, or even green, is more appropriate. Nevertheless, not all screens are created equal and thus, a white crosshair may be just what you need. As mentioned before, smaller crosshairs like Brehze’s immerse well with your enemy’s head.

About Brehze

Brehze currently plays for Evil Geniuses as a rifler and lurker. He was born in 1998 and resides in Florida. In 2019, he was ranked the 8th best player in the world and 20th in 2020. He was also the MVP at cs_summit 6 NA in 2020 ($22,000/$75,000).

What’s Good About Brehze’s Crosshair

  • Depending on your screen’s brightness, a white crosshair may stand out more
  • Covers the head pretty well
  • A closed crosshair may make it feel more complete, leaving nothing behind

Brehze’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_fixedcrosshairgap -4.5; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairstyle 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1;

8. blameF

Image
Body Image
A small, but distinct crosshair.

Another small crosshair, but teal this time. Thanks to its unique and vibrant color, the crosshair is easier to spot and track as you move along. It’s especially effective when your screen is slightly dim or over a darker background. Not only that, but it’s compact, focusing on a very small area, such as the head. On a side note, it sort of looks like the d-pad for a Playstation controller.

About blameF

Benjamin Bremer is a professional Danish CS:GO player for Complexity Gaming. His roles are not limited to, but include rifler and leader. He was ranked the 6th best player in 2020 and won first place in the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals ($335,000/$500,000).

What’s Good About blameF’s Crosshair

  • Unique and vibrant color
  • Small and compact
  • Aligns well with the enemy’s head across multiple distances

blameF’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -4; cl_crosshairsize 1; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_outlinethickness 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshaircolor_b 0; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255;

7. jks

Image
Body Image
A fairly large and transparent crosshair.

Jks uses a white crosshair with a gap in the middle. White, as I mentioned before, works well with a dark background or dim screen. Although the crosshair may slightly overlap with your enemy’s body (depending on the distance at head level), it’s also easier to see (and track) based on the size. It seems as if each side of the crosshair is pointing towards the middle, or toward your enemy’s head. Nevertheless, some players, such as jks, have no trouble getting headshots despite favoring a slightly larger crosshair.

About jks

Justin “jks” Savage is an Australian CS:GO player for Team Complexity. He is primarily known as a rifler and lurker. He was voted 15th best player in 2019 and 19th best player in 2020. As of now, his headshot percentage is roughly 53%. In 2019, he and team Renegades won the Asia Minor Championship in Katowice ($30,000/$50,000).

What’s Good About jks’s Crosshair

  • Bright
  • A larger crosshair makes it easier to track
  • A larger crosshair may encourage accuracy (over precision), since the crosshair focuses on the body/head vs just the head

jks’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 200; cl_crosshaircolor 5; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1; cl_crosshair_outlinethickness 0.5; cl_crosshaircolor_b 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255;

6. Yuurih

Image
Body Image
You can definitely see this one.

Yellow is another great color for a crosshair because of its brightness. Furthermore, the slightly larger size makes it easier to track, increasing its overall transparency. There is a slight gap in the middle, which also helps track and lockdown onto the enemy’s head. Although the crosshair is the same size regardless of the distance (thanks to an optical illusion), it seems to be slightly bigger as you move away from the target, overlapping to the neck and body. If you don’t want to compromise transparency and your screen is not too bright, then this crosshair might be for you.

About Yuurih

Yuurih is a Brazilian Profesional CS:GO player playing for Furia. His primary roles include rifler and entry fragger.  He was ranked 14th best player in 2020 and was the MVP at IEM New York 2020 North America ($25,000/$60,000).

What’s Good About Yuurih’s Crosshair

  • Transparent
  • Bright
  • Easy to track

Yuurih’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 200; cl_crosshaircolor 2; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0;

5. apEX

Image
Body Image
You’ll know it when you see it.

One of the largest crosshairs I’ve presented thus far. Thanks to the size and color, it’s extremely transparent. And unlike previous ones, a dot sits in the middle, perhaps increasing its transparency ever so slightly. The crosshair tends to extend to the “ears” (if you will), but overall like most crosshairs, is fixated on the head. As a result, it may slightly encourage accuracy(general damage) over precision (headshots). I personally don’t mind a dotted crosshair because it reminds me of shooting a laser gun with precision.

About apEX

Dan Madesclaire (apEX) is a French CS:GO Player for team Vitality. He often acts as an in-game leader and rifler. In 2020, he won first place in the Blast Premier Fall league ($225,000/$425,000). Currently, his k/d sits at about 1.03.

What’s Good About apEX’s Crosshair

  • A dotted crosshair may guide/direct your focus to the head
  • Transparent thanks to the bright teal color and size
  • Completely covers the head with the right placement/distance, despite its large size; ideal for accuracy over precision

apEX’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 200; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairdot 1; cl_crosshairgap -1; cl_crosshairsize 5; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0;

4. s1mple

Image
Body Image
As s1mple as that.

Although s1mple is primarily an AWPer, his skill set is noteworthy nevertheless. His crosshair features a white coat with a dot in the middle. From most distances, the crosshair covers your enemy’s head or center (of it) very well. From afar it looks interconnected, but upon taking a closer look, you’ll see it’s actually spread out a bit. Overall, it’s a small, but effective crosshair because it focuses heavily on aligning shots based on the size of your enemy’s head at close and long-range distances.

About s1mple

Arguably, if not, the top CS:GO player in the world. Born in Ukraine, he was ranked the top player by HLTV in 2018, and second-best player in 2019 and 2020. He also finished 1st in the Intel Extreme Masters Season XIV ($250,000/$500,000). S1mple currently plays for Natus Vincere.

What’s Good About s1mple’s Crosshair

  • Small and compact
  • Light color; preferably for dimmer screens
  • Does not extend to the body or outside the head; ideal for headshots

s1mple’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 5; cl_crosshairdot 1; cl_crosshairgap -1; cl_crosshairsize 1; cl_crosshairstyle 5; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 0; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_b 255;

3. ScreaM

Image
Body Image
The headshot machine.

If you always wanted to experiment with a “dot” crosshair, then this might be for you. However, if it seems too small, you can slightly increase the thickness via in-game or script. I know a dot may seem far-fetched, but have you ever considered why some prefer a dot over a t-crosshair or vice versa? Anyhow, there are pros and cons to using a dot crosshair. Although visibility may be the biggest drawback, one of the main upsides is that it closely mimics the shape and size of your opponent’s head, and so, essentially, there is one less shape to worry about.

About ScreaM

Born in 1994, ScreaM was a professional CS:GO Belgian player of Moroccan descent. With a headshot percentage of ~68%, it’s no wonder he was nicknamed the, “Headshot Machine.” According to HLTV, he currently boasts the highest HPR (Headshots Per Round) at .50. In 2017, he and team EnVyUs won the DreamHack Open Atlanta ($50,000/$100,000).

What’s Good About ScreaM’s Crosshair

  • Simple
  • Small, like pointing a laser to the head; ideal for headshots
  • One of the closest crosshairs you’ll see that mimics the shape of your opponent’s head; ideal for headshots

 ScreaM’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairdot 1; cl_crosshairgap -999; cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 0.5; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1; cl_crosshair_outlinethickness 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 0; cl_crosshaircolor_b 250; cl_crosshaircolor_r 250; cl_crosshaircolor_g 250;

2. Ropz

Image
Body Image
Thanks to its size, you can also focus on the center of the head.

Ropz possesses a light crosshair using a green color with a small gap in the middle. From afar, however, it appears that the crosshair is intact. Depending on the distance, it usually covers your opponent’s head or center of it. Similar crosshairs tend to be effective because of their small size with respect to your enemy’s head; focusing on the center of the head may also require you to be even more precise over time. Assuming visibility isn’t an issue, then this crosshair could work for you.

About Ropz

Ropz is an Estonian CS:GO player for Mousesports. His primary roles include rifler and lurker. He is often praised for remaining calm and collective in intense moments. With a headshot percentage of ~52% and K/D ratio of 1.19, I could see why. Furthermore, he was ranked 10th best player in 2019, and 7th best player in 2020. Also, in 2020, he was the MVP of the ESL Pro League Season 10 ($250,000/$600,000).

What’s Good About Ropz’s Crosshair

  • Small and compact
  • Transparent (color)
  • Transparent (for headshots)

Ropz’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 250; cl_crosshaircolor 1; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 2; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 0; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0;

1. Shroud

Image
Body Image
How does he do it?

As one of the most iconic players in CS:GO, Shroud used a light blue crosshair without any gaps. The color is vibrant, making it more visible and easier to track. As for the size, it seems to be moderate; not as small as s1mple’s crosshair, but not as big as apEX’s. When you hover over the enemy’s head, the crosshair will almost perfectly align at various distances, like a face scan or grasping an object the size of your palm. Yes, Shroud knew what he was doing all along.

About Shroud

Mike Grzesiek is a retired Canadian CS:GO player who last played for Cloud9. In 2016, he placed first in the ESL Pro League Season 4 ($200,000/$750,000). But perhaps more importantly, Shroud was an exceptional rifler, given his solid aim, awareness, and clutch factor. According to HLTV, his headshot percentage sits at ~53% with a K/D of 1.12. He currently is a full-time streamer on Twitch.

What’s Good About Shroud’s Crosshair

  • “Moderately” sized
  • Crosshair immerses well with your opponent’s head, if not near to perfection
  • Bright color

Shroud’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshaircolor 3; cl_fixedcrosshairgap -2.5; cl_crosshairstyle 1; hud_showtargetid 1;
