Elden Ring is one of the best games of all time. It is truly From Software’s magnum opus and with that being the case, it has the most bosses in series history. With well over 160, there are a lot of duplicates and only 15(ish) are actually required for you to beat the game. With varying levels of difficulty, let's count down those 15 bosses from weakest to strongest!

15. Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing (Difficulty: 40/100)

Image
Body Image

Leader of the roundtable hold and seeker of knowledge, Sir Gideon will stop at nothing to attain just that.

You will encounter Sir Gideon Ofnir in the Lyndell, Ashen Capital towards the tail end of the game.

While not fully shocking to see Gideon as one of the bosses, there is still some of that factor. He was a constant throughout the entire game but there always felt like something was off about him.

This boss fight isn’t particularly hard in any way. Sir Gideon will pretty much stay back and fire magic projectiles (that can be deflected). It's all about getting in close and dealing damage.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

14. Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy (Difficulty: 40/100)

Image
Body Image

A demi-god looking to achieve more. Rykard is ambition incarnate.

You will encounter him at the end of Volcano Manor.

While visually this boss fight holds up to the standard of all the other main boss fights, it is still a gimmick fight. A fun gimmick fight though.

The easiest way to defeat Rykard is to grab the spear at the beginning of the boss room. It stuns and interrupts depending on the phase, opening him up to big damage.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

13. Godrick the Grafted (Difficulty: 50/100)

Image
Body Image

Ruler of Stormveil Castle. One of the few shunned demi-gods. Godrick is a sight for sore eyes with a need to prove himself.

Godrick is the second main boss fight you’ll encounter at the end of Stormveil Castle.

While the fight before it had its moments, this was the first (of many) boss fights in this game that have that “wow” factor. I still get hype watching him attach the dragon head to his arm.

A very easy tactic to apply to this boss fight is to try your hardest to stick to his right side. In both phases it is easier to dodge his attacks when you position yourself there as much as possible.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

12. Margit, the Fell Omen (Difficulty: 60/100)

Image
Body Image

Another shunned demi-god, this time in disguise. Margit is the first road block in Elden Ring and he makes you work for this victory.

You’ll encounter Margit on Stormhill as you approach Stormveil Castle.

This fight is the first true test of skill in this game. It won’t be easy the first time, but whenever you defeat him the satisfaction will be so sweet.

There is an item called, Margit’s Shackles, that you can obtain beforehand that allows you to stun him in phase one for free hits. The main skill needed to defeat Margit is to not overreact. He has a lot of delays in his attacks (especially his hammer jump) that can catch dodge spammers off guard and deal a lot of damage. Just be patient.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

11. Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Golden Shade) (Difficulty: 60/100)

Image
Body Image

The golden spirit of the first elden lord, Godfrey is a fight that shouldn’t be taken lightly and hints at things to come.

You’ll encounter this boss late game in the Leyndell Royal Capital

This boss is a great warm up for what's to come but can also be a bit tricky.

How to Defeat: Godfry combines slow and fast attacks often, but his tells are fairly visible and long. There are pretty good opportunities to get in some great damage after his combos and even sometimes during.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

10. Red Wolf of Radagon (Difficulty: 65/100)

Image
Body Image

The giant red wolf that protects the Grand Library. With shades of another big canine in other souls games, Red Wolf is a formidable foe.

You’ll encounter Red Wolf as you make your way towards Rennela in the Raya Lucaria Academy.

This fight is very fun. Red Wolf is agile with some very cool moves. The concept of a wolf fighting with a sword just never gets old.

Don't get greedy and let Red Wolf tire himself out. He has many attack strings that leave him open for some good damage. Be patient and on guard at all times.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

9. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon (Difficulty: 65/100)

Image
Body Image

The Queen of the Full Moon and one of the most powerful sorcerers in history, or really, the shell of that person and the illusion of her prime.

You’ll encounter Rennala at the end of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

The second phase of this boss fight is in contention for one of the coolest in all of From Software. While the first phase is pretty easy, the second is what’ll really test you.

The first phase is very simple. Find the students that glow and kill them, Rennela will lower and you’ll get free hits. The second phase can be tough. The best way to defeat her is to stay on her as much as possible. She’s easily stunnable but if she can keep her distance, be weary.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

8. Elden Beast (Difficulty: 65/100)

Image
Body Image

The mysterious alien-like god of the Elden Ring universe and the final battle in this amazing game.

Immediately after defeating Radagon, the Elden Beast will emerge and your fight begins.

Visually this fight is stunning. The music is amazing. It's just a slight shame that this is probably the most frustrating bosses in the game. Fighting it immediately after Radagon can be a pain and it tends to spam a lot.

The Elden Beast has obvious tells that can be abused for good damage. Try to stay at a close to moderate range for this fight.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

7. Godskin Duo (Difficulty: 70/100)

Image
Body Image

The dual boss fight between the Godkin Apostle and the Godskin Noble.

You’ll fight these two as you progress through the Crumbling Farum Azula.

This fight can be a pain. These two share a health bar and will revive one another if left to their own devices long enough.

One of the best tactics to use against these two, is putting one to sleep and focusing on the other. If not that, focus on one while always keeping your eyes on the other.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

6. Fire Giant (Difficulty: 80/100)

Image
Body Image

The last survivor of his kind. The fire giant resides at the top of Flame Peak. Waiting to fell anyone who approaches.

This fight is very fun but can be daunting due to his sheer size. Don’t get too distracted by how cool the fight is (especially the transition to phase two.)

Stay mobile on your horse and weave in out of close to long range while dealing as much damage as you can to his weak point (his ankles).

Best Way To Kill Boss:

5. Morgott, the Omen King (Difficulty: 80/100)

Image
Body Image

The self proclaimed last king, the gatekeeper of grace, Morgott waits to fell all tarnished who he thinks foolishly try to attain something that is not theirs.

Morgott is encountered on the throne area of Leyndell, Royal Capital.

This fight is cool and action packed. The second time you fight him and he doesn’t disappoint.

Just like earlier in the game, this boss fight is a practice in not getting greedy and being patient. He still has very lengthy delays in his attacks that can catch you off guard, but once mastered, this fight becomes a blast.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

4. Radagon of the Golden Order (Difficulty: 85/100)

Image
Body Image

The fractured god of Elden Ring who is the last(ish) to stand in your way.

Once Godfrey is defeated the path towards Radagon becomes available.

This fight is fun. The music is great, the vibe is amazing. There is some minor annoyance with his move set but nothing crazy.

Delays, delays, delays. Almost everything Radagon does will be delayed in some way. Long wind up for a quick move or bust of magic after another. Be on your toes and don't over dodge.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

3. Starscourge Radahn (Difficulty: 90/100)

Image
Body Image

The infamous demi-god who is said to hold up the stars themselves. Radahn is a legend among legends.

You’ll encounter Radahn during the festival of Radahn questline as you progress through Caelid.

Radahn is peak From Soft boss design. What may seem unfair at first, will quickly turn into appreciation and admiration for just how epic this fight is once mastered. There's a reason why there are phase two reaction compilations out there. Radahn is hype.

Stay close, stay on your toes, stay aggressive and be ready to dodge. Use Torrent when needed to dodge certain attacks in stage two and make sure to use the summons on the battlefield available to you. They help a ton.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

2. Godfrey, First Elden Lord and Hoarah Loux (Difficulty: 95/100)

Image
Body Image

The first Elden Lord of the Lands Between and renowned warrior. Truly a beast disguised as a man.

Godfrey is the gatekeeper to the final boss in Elden Ring. He resides atop of Leyndell Capital at the end of the game.

Godfrey is cool with the lion spirit on his shoulder, but his second phase Hoarah Loux is a whole different level of amazing. I know I wasn’t the only one who died multiple times from just being in awe of the second phase.

Godfrey has lengthy delays that can be easily punished. He’s very agile but it’s possible to stick to one side and stay at medium to close range. For Hoarah Loux it's best to stay at medium range until an opening in one of his strings presents themselves.

Best Way To Kill Boss:

1. Maliketh, the Black Blade (Difficulty: 95/100)

Image
Body Image

The sworn life protector of Queen Marika and keeper of destined death itself. Maliketh is a warrior unlike no other.

Maliketh is the final boss of the Crumbling Farum Azula.

This fight is hype and very fast paced. One of the most fast paced battles in this game which can be a bit jarring but hey, when you’re fighting something this cool, who cares.

You’ll be fighting the camera just as much as Maliketh once you reach phase two. He jumps around from pillar to pillar very quickly. Most of this fight will be spent dodging his long strings and taking advantage of his cooldowns.
