Since obtaining a Bachelor of Creative and Professional Writing from Deakin University seven years ago, Kate has enjoyed an exciting and diverse career as a freelance journalist, ghost writer and book editor. As a child, she was fascinated with storytelling in relation novels, television shows and movies, not realising that video games could also offer compelling and complex storytelling until she watched her older brother play through Bioshock 1. Since then, she has become an avid video game player in her own right, finding great passion in both playing video game as well as writing about them through a literary lens. Although masterful storytelling can be found in all genres of games, she is particularly interested in both playing and writing about RPGs such as Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Disco Elysium and Nier.
